tayto and not how to be good with money is back on rte tonight at 8.30pm

nib I'd iceland sushi for lunch & a fridge raiders cheese & nuts combo, odd combination for lunch but was yummy, glad no one was in canteen with me when I was eating today, a colleague did join when I was half way through the fridge raiders.

slattern maybe it'll make you money, and you need something to do when you're not working too.

Spends yesterday €15 in iceland on aforementioned sushi, 2 x 4 packs of steamfresh veg (I've tried prepping two days together but it's just not nice and I'm too lazy to cook veg every day), salt & pepper chicken fakeaway, 2litre bottle of miwadi and I'm not sure what else
€5.75 dunnes on cat food and a birthday card

Happierwithouthim · 09/01/2020 14:05

Today €70 against 0% cc and €500 against my only other one carrying a balance Grin there's about €300 left on this card & will clear that from joint account as it's Christmas spends. H bought one item for Christmas 25% of total spends on Santa and I bought the rest Hmm

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2020 15:15

its really raining here .. have re-coloured my hair pink ..but had the dye already so thats ok

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2020 15:35

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2020 15:54

Ive been colouring ti pink for a while now happier, It feels like 'me' now!
Have to bleach it first though as I m not quite grey all over, but because its so short , it never gets brittle. I have it cut every 4-5 weeks .
I use Bleach London (its not bleach) but a temp colour, washes /fades out in about 3 weeks on me.

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2020 15:55

I really like that style happier

ememem84 · 09/01/2020 16:04

£24 in waitrose just now. Dm told me that buggies pull ups were on an offer so I cleared them out of the 4 packs they had. Plus reduced bagels and hot cross buns for breakfasts some bay and thyme and garlic.

Making onion tart tatin for dinner.

Other spends £44 in boots on pull ups (bought these before Dm told me about the offer) swim nappies for both ds and Dd weaning bibs and two new bottle teats.

Oh and I’m getting a refund on a fridge door tray as it doesn’t fit.

Nsd today

northender · 09/01/2020 17:21

I love it laska! I'm grey and plan to go pink, purple or blue when I retire, but might experiment with a few streaks before then...
happier that style looks good.
Well done on stopping smoking We3, I work with patients with chronic lung conditions so see the damage it causes, such a hard habit to break, but you've taken a huge step. WOlverine no need to avoid the thread because of what you spend your money on, no judging here. There's lots of evidence to show that people are more successful at quitting with support than alone so it may be worth contacting your local service.

£27 at Booths, dh has gone to aldi so not sure yet how much he's spent. Otherwise no spends here. I did a gym session this morning & have lost 6 pounds so far this year! I'm trying to focus on short term realistic goals, at the moment that is the holiday. I've lost it before & then just let it creep back on, but do feel more focused this time. Must join the weight loss group again.

I have just succumbed to ordering a Zelo journal with some Christmas money. They are expensive but it was 2 for 1 so not so bad (£30 for 2). I currently use a notebook which gets a bit crazy so I think the structure and goal setting side of it will be good for me. Probably wouldn't have got them if I hadn't had the Christmas money, but figure that's what it's for.

Bornlazy · 09/01/2020 18:01

£3.35 for bread and milk. Could have got it at least £1 cheaper if id gone to Aldi instead of corner shop but I'd have bought other stuff too that I probably didn't need so it would have ended up costing more.

Love your hair Laska its a great colour. I am very boring with my hair and keep it long enough to throw up in a messy bun all the time as I am too lazy to style it for work.

Macaroni for dinner tonight, except for ds2 who doesn't like it so he's having chicken.

Well done north on weight loss that's good going.

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2020 18:06

Yes go for it northender I got some funny comments at work to start with but they soon got use to it. I tell people its my natural hair colour now!
Thanks born I cant imagine growing mine again now

NSD...

ChristmasSeacow · 09/01/2020 18:38

Love the hair Laska (and that’s lovely Happier - if I had the right hair I’d defo go for something like that. Mine’s curly though)

Spends:

3.98 on two kids books from Oxfam Bookshop
£2.50 on tea and babyccino
£15 haircut for DD - first one! She shouted ‘ow!’ Whenever the hairdresser touched her ( and sometimes when she didn’t!) which was very funny. She had ringlets at the end of her hair and I wasn’t sure whether it’d be more straight after being cut but no, it’s bounced up into curls again.

£4 on toastie for DD for much - had to feed her pronto after inconveniently-timed haircut
£10 top-up shop - sausages, peppers and stuff for pasta bake tonight. Hadn’t been organised enough to defrost and slow cook beef in freezer as intended, but it will keep.

Ocado is coming tomorrow so I have to meal plan tonight.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/01/2020 18:51

Dc have just finished opening the stuff in their Christmas stockings (normal size, not pillow cases or anything!). They both started on Christmas Day, got to something they were excited about and wandered off to play. I suggested they go back to it a couple of times over the holiday but they didn’t seem in a hurry... however, today I realised there were satsumas in the bottom that might be going squishy, and I want to put the stockings back in the loft too! So they’ve just had a chocolate coin each Grin

Wolfcub · 09/01/2020 18:53

Spendy day

£4 Starbucks drinks for me and staff member during 121. Used discount card
£8.80 amazon screen protector
£189 John Lewis on fit bit and two years accidental damage cover. However £100 of this was a bonus voucher from work and £50 was Xmas money. Will collect either tomorrow or Saturday
Need to buy some flower show tickets for dm's birthday will be about £60

Wolfcub · 09/01/2020 18:54

Fab hair Laska and Happier I love that cut

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 09/01/2020 19:01

Hi all, checking in to keep myself on track.

Been mad busy at work for last few days so not done any shopping other than £62 weekly shop at Aldi/Tesco.

Pleased with this as I spend less if I do most of my weekly shop at Aldi. DH has to have a gluten free diet so unfortunately have to go to Tesco for bread.

Got free tickets to a local farm for tomorrow’s outing and a play date with coffee on sat so aiming to keep spends low.

Seems like it’s a long time to payday!

Unescorted · 09/01/2020 19:13

Laska love the colour. That looks amazing.

Wolf Sea thanks for the suggestions. In answer to your question about what we have in - tehre are the basics of toms, beans spaghetti, pulses, meals in a can, rice and soups, hot dogs, vegetables, … but the weird and wonderful is truly that. I have squid ink spaghetti, duck confit, truffle oil, quite a bit of crab, proper coffee, vegan food additives (yeast, protein, gluten), posh oils and vinegars. There are things I never even knew were a thing. I am having to google to see what they are. We have condiments that will just go to waste because they aren't paired with things to make a meal.

I know that when we were really broke I didn't stop loving cooking - I just didn't have anything to cook. We could conceivably ask for flour so people could make puddings using the tinned fruit... I may experiment to see if oil or coconut oil can be used in place of butter.

Did I tell you we have a hound shaped house guest..... I have fallen in love.

SnugglySnerd · 09/01/2020 19:14

Fab hair Laska! I like that fut in the picture too Happier.

Nsd. Long day at work, I'm shattered!

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2020 19:23

Laska l love your hair Smile
Born l have never tried a potato scone before , l must get some and try them Smile
I am afraid l succumbed to buying 3 potted 4FT Christmas trees at £30 for the 3 from the local garden centre. I looked at them before Christmas but they were so expensive l vowed l would get them in the sale after Christmas. Tomorrow will surely be a nsd! Please ! Grin

Happierwithouthim · 09/01/2020 19:38

Your hairs fab laska thanks for votes of confidence regarding cut, I've straight mid length hair now & am happy with the length but it's quite thick so I think this will give it a bit of life.
Getting dcs done sat & mine following sat when they're at their dads

Christmas that's gas about their stockings, glad your dd didn't lose her curls, I was horrified when hairdresser took all of ds's curls away one time, they took about twelve months to come back.

Went for my smear today - government funded, nurse was flabbergasted that I hadn't had a period since before ds Confused

Installed my groupon battery sensor led outdoor lights this eve, delighted with them. In next house I'll use them in airing cupboard or something like that

Spends
£63.13 tesco order. Started my batch cooking tonight.
£1.30 Wilko, dryer sheets and a little chocolate bar :o

maddenlightfoot · 09/01/2020 20:15

Evening all! Love the pink hair!

Gosh, I hadn't ever considered the sheer variety of items donated v. what people can actually cook with them... meal packs are a great idea.

I'm watching EWFL... like the look of the rogan josh roast chicken and so sweet that she'd enjoyed cooking for him and tried and liked her own cooking and felt really proud of herself.

Another nsd! Think I'm on at least 4 or 5 so far in January which I'm really pleased about.

ememem84 · 09/01/2020 20:21
