Negated any savings I made by spending €149.25 on a kennel for my dog for whenever we move, there was 25/% off so significant saving.

€16.79 in Lidl because I forgot chicken for ds's lunch at the weekend & I had to go to a funeral & was hungry Smile got sushi & it filled a gap, and bought a cake for my friend's birthday at work too Grin

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2019 05:59

So the dog has a home to look forward to but I don't yet GrinGrin
North fruit looks amazing

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2019 06:25

Nice fruit.
Spendy yesterday as predictors
£40 boots, £3 notes, -£8 Primark, 6 new remote for tv

Yeah on finding the buggy

northender · 17/09/2019 07:13

seacow glad you got the buggy back
Happier doesn't matter that the hotel saving was taken up by the kennel, it's money that had to be spent & it was much less in total than expected.
With the fruit I'm thinking of freezing the apples (sliced so can be used as & when needed), damson jam & plum crumbles (to be frozen)

ememem84 · 17/09/2019 08:13

Morning all.

Had a day with ds and Dd mostly on my own yesterday. Dm met us for coffee (and spilled it all over my shoe....). £6.50.

We went gorilla hunting. And saw some cows.

Today ds is at nursery. Dh has taken him in on the bus. I said something along the lines of “ha you’re a pair of bus wankers” to dh. Guess which words ds copied....?! 😱😮🤦‍♀️

Dd and I are heading to town at lunchtime. I have a waxing appointment. Ouch!

Happierwithouthim · 17/09/2019 10:37

seacow that was amazing that your dh found the buggy. There are a certain clientele in a town near me who live off the state, they will abandon a buggy no matter what the condition if it inconveniences them as they know the community welfare officer will give them a grant to get a spanking new one, we're busy fools - the rest of us who work for everything we have. Sorry rant over, obviously I understand that there are people who deserve every cent they get from social welfare. Hope I haven't offended anyone.

em I need to do some maintenance too, eyebrow shape & tent, waxing & my roots all need doing Shock

CamdenTownie · 17/09/2019 11:09

North- fruit looks great! I reckon you could make a delicious crumble with some of the apples 🍏

Pretty uneventful day here so far, but it's only just gone 11am. Tuesday is my worst day because when I get home I have to take dd2 almost straight out to dance class and don't get home until 8pm!

Pasta bake for dinner tonight, unplanned spend this morning of £31 on some new trainers from fitflop- reduced
from £80 and i do need them.

maddenlightfoot · 17/09/2019 16:30

I had another present spending spree 😱 - obviously it will save money in the coming months (especially December - thanks for that handy excuse snuggly ☺️!), but is not strictly speaking in budget.

However I've now sorted another nephew's October birthday, my mum's November birthday and half of niece's Christmas present all for £50. Must not buy anything else in September!!

CamdenTownie · 17/09/2019 17:51

Ah madden I love a present buying spree, having to sit on my hands right now as I'm desperate to start!

ememem84 · 17/09/2019 19:54

£24 waxing. Ouchie!!! But feel more put together.

£8 Tesco. Sweet potatoes. Rolls. Donuts and a magazine.

Took dd to nursery to pick Ds up. Ds loved that Dd was there. Wanted to show her all his nursery. 😂

Dinner is cheesy potato onions burgers in rolls with sweet potato chips. #carbs

Having a naice gin.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/09/2019 00:43

Do people really do that Happier? Shock.

I am about to embark on a spending spree - sisters have a milestone birthday next month. They are wonderful aunties so I want to get them something special. Then Christmas... though I am quite ahead this year.

Been up late making fondant Mr Men for DS’s birthday cake. Unfortunately a lot of his favourites are yellow so it’s not going to be as uniformly colourful as I would like HmmGrin

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2019 06:24

Urgh early start waiting for my taxi to the station. Hate long days traveling

moimichme · 18/09/2019 07:47

That's wonderful you found the buggy, Sea!
em we have to be very careful what we say here too nowadays...! So cute that your ds was showing dd around the nursery.
north That fruit looks amazing!

I've also been buying some Christmas and birthday presents. Really adds up! But hoping to be in the black for food shopping when December rolls around.

NSD yesterday and Monday. Happy Wednesday all.

mogloveseggs · 18/09/2019 08:04

£60 spent yesterday on parking, electric, diesel and tea out.
Nsd today i am determined

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2019 08:50

People really do that seacow such a waste of funds, and such disrespect and appreciation for what they've been given too.

Last night I discovered tayto park is free to children under 12 wearing their club/county/country jersey this weekend. Dc loved tayto park during our summer holidays but the day cost me about €220 plus overnight in hotel. This weekend I'll stay at my parents the night before my entry was €15.50 and wristbands for 3 of us will be €45. There'll be no giftshop but we'll eat our dinner out on the way home.

ememem84 · 18/09/2019 09:05

I’ve just realised ds’ birthday is next week. I knew it was 24th. But have lost track of dates etc and thought I had another week. Bugger.

So. I need to find him a gift. Dh thinks balance bike. So that’s today’s job. Maybe. Or tomorrow’s.

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2019 09:33

They're fab em or a scuttlebug my dc got great time out of those

Girliefriendlikescake · 18/09/2019 11:32

Had a productive morning here catching up at home, downstairs looks fairly straight now upstairs not so much!!

Am car less as had to take car to the Toyota garage, it's been recalled due to a possible fault with the back windows. I was good and walked back from the garage to get my steps up.

Ystd was busy, dd was off school with a heavy cold and I was working, luckily with this new job I can work from home some of the time. Dd had a huge meltdown in the evening, there was an unlucky series of events which led up to it plus her not feeling 100%. Horrible to see her so distressed though and def highlights the differences between her and her peers 😕 Apparently her tennis teacher asked my mum if she is autistic. That's the first time someone on the 'outside' has noticed.

Anyway spends wise only £10 Ystd to various work colleagues for bday contributions.

Christmas is going to have to be a low budget one this year, dds present is partly the puppy so not planning on going mad on getting her loads of other stuff.

Nieces and nephews strict budget of £10 each.

Need to have a think about what to get parents, might look into experience type gifts.

moimichme · 18/09/2019 15:41

em Last year we got ds a balance bike for Christmas (at 22 months) and it was a bit much for him (he is rather short for his age though), but he was riding his little scooter for his 2nd birthday within minutes of unwrapping it. So that's another option if he doesn't have a scooter yet.

On track for a NSD again, but tomorrow is DH's birthday so it won't be! We're going out to dinner at a nice local place with good vegan food, which will be lovely.

WreckTangled · 18/09/2019 15:49

Ds had a balance bike and was riding a bike without stabilisers at 3. Dd didn't have one sand still can't ride a bike. I'm so pissed off wirh dh because he never takes her out to try and learn (I can't do it because I'm not strong enough to hold the bike up with her on it!)

ememem84 · 18/09/2019 15:50

£39 balance bike for ds.

£4.75 coffee and a pot of tea. Met friend for coffee with her littlie. We met at the zoo. Had a look round the gift shop. Saw an amazing T-shirt for ds (with a gwilla (gorilla) on it) but they didn’t have it in his size. So didn’t get anything.

So. Much. overpriced cute. Stuff.

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2019 16:10

wreck dd went to a special course run by occupational therapists to learn to cycle and had the hang of it in two one hour sessions.

What they did was take off the pedals and lower the saddle so that the child can walk the bike while sitting on it, then they started cycling in straight lines first, then when they got more confident they added in traffic cones, parents just ran alongside them, didn't hold bike at all. Then added in use of braking. Then next time they put on the pedals and raised the saddle and repeated the exercises. It was surprising how quickly she got the hang of it.

WreckTangled · 18/09/2019 16:19

Hmm I've not heard of anything like that round here that would be good though. She has really low muscle tone in her legs so struggles

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2019 16:28

Dd has hypermobility and weak muscle tone in her tummy muscles so this is why she struggled. If I can find a sheet of paper about it I'll scan it and send it to you but it was so simply done you or your dh would have no problem doing it. I must get ds cycling too like that he's almost 6!

WreckTangled · 18/09/2019 17:44

Oh great thanks!
