Home from the hospital now. I got talking to the Public Health Nurse and she told me that she couldn't do the dressing unless (1) DD is a medical card holder (she's not) and (2) the hospital had supplied a fresh dressing and instructions re: same (they didn't). So I rang the hospital again who suggested I try the Public Health Nurse ........
. When I explained that the PHN wasn't an option, they told me to bring DD in to A&E and they'd dress it there. Honestly, you've no idea how appalling the health service is here. And the worst bit is, we're paying for it! We also enquired about the runners and they've been officially declared missing, so Ex is going to pursue that and see if we can get some compensation.
Spends so far €20 on slider shoes for DD so she can put them on over the bandage. And something like €5 for coffee and scones at the hospital as we were waiting around a while and were starving when we'd finished.
I saw something on the Channel 4 news about that dam. Fingers crossed it doesn't collapse. I agree, it must be awful to be evacuated.
