SnugglySnerd · 01/08/2019 09:04

Now you mention it, Em I could eat a croissant too! I might get some for the weekend.

CurlsandCurves · 01/08/2019 09:12

Unescorted how are things where you live today? Are you able to get to work, or staying indoors?

I want pastries now.

em those few days when your boobs are rock solid are awful aren’t they? Just keep that bra on!

Hoping for a NSD today. Although I will be buying a new holiday suitcase to replace the one that broke last year. But that’s planned and budgeted for. What I mean is I won’t be doing any unnecessary spending which has been my absolute downfall recently. Going into Tesco’s for a loaf of bread and coming out £15 lighter 🙄

Right, best get the dishwasher on, beds stripped and in the wash, then off to Zumba!

ememem84 · 01/08/2019 09:41

Lovely buttery croissants with cassis jam. That’s what I want. Or a Danish pastry. Oooohh.

Dd has started pooping. Yay!!!!

ememem84 · 01/08/2019 09:45

curls don’t worry bra is staying on!!!!

Fil and gf are coming over today. can’t wait Dh has already anticipated the “you still look pregnant” comments and the “why are you not breastfeeding” comments and the “having a baby is just like having a puppy” comments from Gf.

Joy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/08/2019 10:20

And fuck off is the appropriate reply to all of those.
Free entry to tower of London today. Yeah

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 01/08/2019 11:08

£42 dress in Seasalt sale. One of my work dresses has a big hole in the front of the pocket so I am replacing

ememem84 · 01/08/2019 11:26

Quite. I’ve told dh if that happens I will not react (because if I’m honest that’s what I think the GF wants) but what if actually like to do is to ask her why she’s so fat. Or why she’s so rude. What’s the man special phrase “did you mean to be so rude?” Combined with head tilt and tinkly laugh?

Dh dropped ds at nursery. We’re trying to keep routine for him as much as we can. He’ll be home with us tomorrow so we can have some family time. He needs to be spoiled a bit.

On his way back dh stopped at the shop and bought eggs and sausages and made s proper breakfast (fried eggs, grilled sausages, baked beans, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms and toast!) so yummy!!!!

In other news I’ve managed to get my pre pregnancy jeans on today. Wahoo. Still have a bit of a tummy hangover/muffin top but I don’t care.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 01/08/2019 11:41

I second @lifelongfrugaleer's reponse there!

July has been another good month for sticking to the budget so pleased with that. I'm off work next week though so that might possibly put an early strain on August's budget.

Taytocrisps · 01/08/2019 11:52

Morning. I'm at home with DD today 'cos she had surgery on an ingrown toenail yesterday. I collected her prescription earlier - €10.54 + €6 for over the counter Solpadeine. I'm waiting to hear back from the Public Health Nurse, to see if she'll change the dressing today or tomorrow. For some reason, there's no nurse available at the GP's surgery.

They lost DD's runners at the hospital Angry. They asked DD to take them off before the surgery and then couldn't find them when they discharged her. Ex is going to call in again and see if they've turned up.

em good luck with the GF today. With a bit of luck, DD will puke or poo on her and it will be a very short visit Grin. Well done for fitting into your jeans so quick. I think DD was about 3 months old before I squeezed fit into mine. I remember feeling a lot more normal when I was able to ditch the maternity trousers.

Curls I'm also washing my bedding today. And cleaning the bathroom. It will free me up a bit at the weekend.

LivingInLaputa · 01/08/2019 11:58

Maybe if she makes comments about why you stopped breastfeeding AND the fact that having a baby is just like getting a puppy, you can innocently ask, “what, you breastfed your puppy?!” 😇😏

WreckTangled · 01/08/2019 12:10

Spendy day.

Topshop £31.50 they gave me a student discount as they don't do an nhs one
£11 primark
£15 Nando's
£26 sports direct on trainers for dd
£14 decathlon on pe trainers for both dc
£7 fucking parking Angry

Think that's it. This is my dress for the races. I can't wear nice shoes so wanted one that would cover my feet. Need some kind of head piece still.

Something shocking pink I think wreck

lap hahaha!!! Yes!!! That’s the response. She’s one of those knowledgeable about everything women. She’s never had kids but gave out all sorts of unwanted advice on being pregnant and childbirth and parenting. 🙄 her advice must be followed or you get the “well why aren’t you doing as I told you” look/comment.

The last time she said it to me (about whatever it was pregnancy related thing) I just said that maybe guidance has changed since she had her kids. And wandered off. Knowing full well that she hadn’t had kids. I also had the safety of being at a family bbq. So loads of other people to get “lost” in.

ememem84 · 01/08/2019 12:45

Maternity leave productivity for today:

  • has cereal and raisins with ds
  • dressed ds
  • fed Dd and settled her
  • watched wanted down under
  • washed up (aka threw everything in dishwasher) after dh’s breakfast
  • laundry out and another load on
  • folded clean laundry and piled it up on bed.

Now resting on bed with dd. She’s in her basket next to me.

WreckTangled · 01/08/2019 13:10

Em my shoes and bag are gold?

Taytocrisps · 01/08/2019 13:35

Bundled my bedding into the washing machine and then remembered that I've no detergent. I meant to pick some up yesterday. I could nip down to the shops but then I'd probably miss a call from the Public Health Nurse. Guess I'll just get on with cleaning the bathroom.

Lovely dress Wreck

WreckTangled · 01/08/2019 13:40

£86 school shoes
£10 mountain warehouse on swim shorts for ds and rash vest for dd.
£10 birthday present for DD's best friend.

Unescorted · 01/08/2019 13:52

Curls it has yet to rain but we have a weather warning in place - again! Could be a LOT worse. There is a reservoir in a small town a couple of miles away that is in danger of collapse. It is sited above the main part so they are evacuating shops and getting people prepped to leave their homes at v. short notice.

And just as I type that the heavens open.

Em if she starts tell her to do one. I assume she does not have kids if she is likening it to having a puppy.

wreck great frock.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/08/2019 14:32

Laps reply is totally the one you should use.
Lovely dress wreck. Your figure is great.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/08/2019 14:33

Stay safe in the North. The bridge in North Yorkshire that collapsed is only about 30 minutes from us.

Unescorted · 01/08/2019 14:43

They are now evacuating the town. Poor sods - they are being told to prepare for being out of their homes for several days.

WreckTangled · 01/08/2019 15:07

I was breathing in life Grin

Gosh how scary those poor people. Hard to believe because we only had one day of showers down here. I can't imagine what they're going through Sad

CurlsandCurves · 01/08/2019 17:55

Looking gorgeous wreck !

Tayto my eldest had surgery on both his big toes for ingrown toenails. It finally put an end to his constant pain, back and forth to the doctors for antibiotics, being signed off PE, etc. Hope your dd recovers well.

em how did the visit go?

It’s been quite an eventful day chez curls, I’ll post about it later when I’ve more time.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 01/08/2019 17:57

£15 cinema tickets for tomorrow using BlueLightCard discount

ememem84 · 01/08/2019 18:57

How did the visit go?

  • wanted details about labour - how long, pain, tearing or cutting, stitches (I said I didn’t want to talk about it - meaning I didn’t want to talk about it in front of Fil - he is scared of women I think and also he didn’t need to know this - nor did she)
  • was I breastfeeding?
  • when baby started crying and needed her bottle she questioned why the bottle
  • asked me whether my boobs are sore
  • loads of presents for Dd. Nothing for ds (I know that its not all about the presents, but ds is feeling a bit left out at present I think - luckily he wasn’t there).
  • could she take a pic of me in my post preggo clothes? So she could show her friends daughter who had a baby 4 months ago who still hasn’t lost the baby weight - no.
  • basically tried to force Fil into saying he loved his granddaughter (Fil is a stone of emotion. He had a cuddle with dd. And that was all I wanted him to do or expected). He got annoyed with her.
