ggreen if you enjoyed the job and it was a single issue that made you look else where & that no longer applies I would do it. You spend far too long at work to not enjoy it.

Cag glad you have a reason for feeling blerghhhhh. It is pants you are ill but at least you have a light at the end.

Wolf shame! I am going down again week after next. It is Birmingham next week. I am going to invest in a cardboard cut out for my family to worship.

Em cute cat - do they get zombie apocalypses and do they retain freedom of movement? And DS looks soooooo peaceful

sneaky how do you manage 60p p day on lecky? do you boil your kettle by harnessing the heat given off by passing motorists road rage?

SnugglySnerd · 13/02/2019 19:13

Ouch! Cag. Get well soon.

NSD. The sunny weather has made me feel unusually energetic all day but I'm done in now!

WreckTangled · 13/02/2019 19:17

£2.29 on bread and strawberries. Was so tempted by the Lidl bakery and fast food places that we don't have any of locally but I resisted. Good for the waist and wallet Grin

Dh is at football tonight so I need to put both dc to bed and sort the washing. Suppose I should write his card for tomorrow too.

Justanothermile · 13/02/2019 19:31

Oh bless you cag, you have had such a tough time health-wise recently. You do so well, you've three dc, one of whom is only tiny and you HE. Please look after yourself.

£6.02 Aldi.

WreckTangled · 13/02/2019 19:32

Just took my new jumper out of the washing machine it's completely ruined Sad it wasn't cheap either

LonelyOversharer · 13/02/2019 19:40

Oh wreck that isn't fixable Sad but it's not just a thread thats caught, it's like your machine has eaten a lump of it. Very strange.

Been a busy day. Ex has finally put the money in, 2 weeks late. I was going to message him tonight, so glad I don't have to, as I tend to get a whole load of "greedy bitch" type comments. He has been so good for 2 years translates to: we haven't had to communicate , so glad I didn't have to poke the tiger.

So, just £5 in the co-op tonight, but I can now pay the £130 needed for dd1's revision weekend! Yes, an actual thing Hmm

Unescorted · 13/02/2019 19:44

Wreck that is a bummer, does it say it is machine washable? If so then take it back and say you washed it as the instructions said and this is the result. It is worth a shot.

With it being on the cuff and lower sleeve it is going to be hard to darn or change the sleeve shapes to disguise.

I have forgotten to get a card for dh - I will write a little note on a torn scrap of paper instead.

WreckTangled · 13/02/2019 19:46

There are no washing instructions in it at all! I went online and there weren't any there either. So annoying. Our washing machine is over ten years old and I always overfill it so that's probably why.

Unescorted · 13/02/2019 19:54

Lonely why are they so moronic. We had a mate who was moaning about the money he had to pay for his son. It was buttons compared to the actual cost of caring for a child. Dh & I went through our kid related expenses with him. I hope afterwards he wasn't so stingy. He never mentioned it in front of us ever again.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/02/2019 20:06

Ah so cute em. Pleased you took the day.
Gws cag.
Green I would go back in that situation of that was the only reason to leave.
Phew lonely.
That's rubbish wreck. Nothing to lose trying to send it back.

80p on bread today as forgot my lunch bread

Ggreengrass1 · 13/02/2019 20:19

wreck too sad about the jumper, hope your washing machine doesn't eat anything else.
Thanks for your answers, I will borrow the big girl pants hopefully and make an appointment to speak to old management.

MeadowHay · 13/02/2019 20:36

Grass Who turned down your application for flexible working and was it really justified on business need? The answer to that question would probably help me decide whether to look at going back or not, however I am very stubborn and hold grudges so...Grin

Wreck How did the machine do that?? Confused That sucks.

Unescorted Haha, good on you and your DH. I would rage if someone said something like that to me. Probably nobody would dare tbh xD

Today was speeeeendy. I spent like £130 in WHSmiths, mostly on printer ink, but it was buy one get one half price and we needed some so in the long-run it was economical. And then about another £8 in the little supermarket on some groceries. And £1 for playgroup, which DD seemed to quite enjoy, she always gets a bit whingy and tired towards the end but that's when the church ladies pop out with rattles, bells, and tambourines for the kids whilst they sing and dance loudly at the front, so that always captivates DD's attention again Grin. She went to the GP this morning too and has been referred to a paed now just to check her over, what with the crying. I don't think there's owt wrong with her but better to get checked, I spose.

ememem84 · 13/02/2019 20:37

Ds is putting up a bedtime fight again.

He’s on our bed. He was asleep. I was lying next to him. Asked dh to sit with him while I peed. Our bed is high and I hadn’t cushioned round it.

Dh picked Ds up and put him in his bed. Cue hysterical screaming.

He’s back in bed with me. Has just done the most ginormous fart and is now singing. Ffs.

Dh is making fougasse.

Girliefriendlikescake · 13/02/2019 22:05

Hope you feel better soon Cag

Em I think your Dr should have signed you off for longer in the first place tbh, half a week is nothing. Well done to your puss cat for being brave, I reckon she will start going out more as the weather gets better. Have you given ds the dummy back?

Busy day here and have been productive this evening and made a vat of bolognaise, i had some veg to use up and a load of mushrooms so it all got chucked in! Felt like Georges Marvellous Medicine Grin

I have now have Netflix courtesy of my mum, apparently she can have us added onto her subscription, so thats exciting. Have started watching The Crown as heard its good, any other recommendations?

Nsd.

Actually thats a lie I just added £10 to dds school dinner account.

SneakyGremlins · 13/02/2019 22:10

Unescorted 60p is only using the kettle and Nintendo switch! Nothing else!

Been busy this evening Grin

Cagliostro · 13/02/2019 22:12

Thank you lovelies. Starting the ABs tomorrow and feeling hopeful they will help soon! I’ve to go back in a week if no better for blood tests and stuff in case it’s something else but I’m pretty sure it is mastitis tbh - it fits with Rowan reducing feeds and in particular changing sides constantly like it’s a game 😡 and possibly changing latch now her back teeth have started.

Not seen the crown but enjoyed Sex education, the Sinner, You, and currently watching 13 reasons why. Friday night dinner is great too

SneakyGremlins · 13/02/2019 22:14

Flowers for you cag!

Happierwithouthim · 14/02/2019 06:06

Only reading in a hurry but wanted to say congrats Girlie fantastic news!

WreckTangled · 14/02/2019 07:19

Last day of work today before half term so I'm going to treat myself to lunch. I'm off to a school on the beach 😬

MeadowHay · 14/02/2019 10:12

Does anyone know anything about the availability of formula etc in Spain? It looks like they sell Cow and Gate but under the brand name Almiron or something? I'm assuming they sell the premade formula as much as here? Also any other tips for a holiday with an 8mo would be appreciated...I didn't think about the practicalities when we booked it when she was about 6 weeks old! We're in a hotel without a kitchen, but there will be a kettle and a mini-fridge..so far I've bought sterilising tablets, and steriliser bags to take to sterilise the bottles. And a bag for the buggy to go in when it has to go on the plane. Will the large bottles of premade formula fit in a standard mini-fridge if they're laid flat? I'm not good with dimensions and stuff Confused and the hotel wouldn't give me the exact dimensions. I am thinking I will take bare minimum of baby food, formula, nappies, and wipes and then just buy everything there, surely all the local pharmacies will have all these things? Worried about how she'll be on the plane journey too although she was pretty good on the trains on the weekend.

Aw Cag hope you get better soon!

Girlie We share Netflix too, my DPs pay for it so it's shared between them, DB, DSis, and DH and I Grin. I am watching Justice atm which is a legal drama set in Abu Dhabi. Other things I've really enjoyed, but I mean it depends what kind of things you like: Making a Murderer, One Day at a Time (there's a new series of that that I am going to eventually watch whenever I finally finish Justice!), The Good Place, Great News, Good Girls, Atypical (which I still haven't watched the latest season of!).

WreckTangled · 14/02/2019 14:27

Back at dr surgery this time for midwife appointment. Hoorah.

Have been in a seminar since 3.

ememem84 · 14/02/2019 17:57

Now waiting for dh to pick me up. I’m assuming he’s picking me up here and now anywhere else. He’s not answering his phone which is helpful. Sigh.

Girliefriendlikescake · 14/02/2019 18:08

Meadow I took dd to Spain with my mum when she was 6 months old, I can't remember what I did about formula (sorry) but I do remember I took some powered type baby food (is that still a thing?) and the rest of the time she just ate Spanish food, in fact I discovered she liked loads of different foods that she hadn't tried before.

You will be able to get all baby stuff in Spain though although you're dd has a special prescription milk you'll obviously have to take that. For the plane, take some milk, calpol and dummies!!
