Meadow I am with snuggly on this - I found the time between them stopping being a baby baby, but unable to say what they want really difficult. I know we had relatively straightforward ones, but even they were clingy and unpredictable at that age. You are doing really well - and it sounds as if you and your Dh are on the same page which is fantastic. It does get easier - yes they can be awkward and argumentative, but in their teens they appreciate sleep. There is a reason that sleep deprivation is considered a form of torture.

snuggly I am too.

AutumnLeaves12 · 15/01/2019 21:10

hello Smile

Just nipping in again to say thank you for the kind messages from Snuggly and Happier.

I'm going to carry on living our here in the real world for a while as it's really nice having lots of time to chat with dh while he is on leave from work. Also out here I can watch parliament channel and shout at the screen without derailing the thread. LOL!

I'm glad to know that it's okay to come back for wee visits though. I'll look forward to nipping in and out to see how you all are.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying the gardening snuggly. I hope you get all the very best of sleeps in the coming weeks and months.

Xx

Justanothermile · 15/01/2019 22:30

meadow I don't think I ever found an answer, wish I had done. You never give yourself enough credit though and always hard on yourself. You are an amazing person and parent. Probably feels like an eternity but I definitely think it's easier when they start to become their own little person more and less of a baby. Think I said before but walking made a huge difference.

northender · 15/01/2019 23:03

Jam I do remember your friend, that's great to hear. Had a lovely message from friend this morning.
Born they are cute, yes. I've bought them for 2 babies recently & they've been very well received.
Girlie well done to your dd, fab news. No harm in rejigging your application and resubmitting, go for it, could you ask for feedback on the shortlisting?
Meadow hang in there.

Had a lovely time with friends this morning. Did some sorting out & organising this afternoon & then did a body weight circuit class. £3 for dd to do the circuit training, £3 for broccoli and Stilton (I feel a soup coming on!) & £5 on some flower seeds for dnephew's birthday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2019 06:17

That's great news about your friend jam.
Good luck meadow dh.
Enjoy Sheffield wolf.

Good grief what will today bring.

Wolfcub · 16/01/2019 06:40

Morning all happy frugal Wednesday. No CoS for me today now Life we are on a travel ban.
I was kind of hoping work would be calmer today but after last night who knows what it will bring

Hoping for a nsd today. It’ll be dinner a la fridge or freezer

Ggreengrass1 · 16/01/2019 06:48

meadow good luck for dh driving test. Wow you're doing amazing getting out and about with your dd, I'm super impressed. Have a lovely day everyone.

MeadowHay · 16/01/2019 08:08

I start CBT this afternoon, eek. I think my anxiety is not really better or worse than pre-DD but I have more of an incentive to really really push myself now because I don't want her to miss out. She is much happier out and about than stuck at home with my ugly mug all day Grin. And I can't say I blame her for that Grin! So hopefully the CBT will help. She will be with DM this afternoon while I go.

Em Yes she will be in nursery for 3 days one week, then 3 days the next, then I start work on the third week iyswim. She will have one or two settling in periods in the week or so before she properly starts too I think. After the first month nursery will be dropping to 2 days as I'm managed to organise with work to reduce to 4 days and DM is happy to have her for 2 days but we weren't sure when we booked and had to pay first month up front so will just keep her in the extra day for that month, I'm hoping it might actually help her settle in faster to be there more at first.

You are all fab, thanks Flowers

Autumn Yes I think you should pop in whenever you want, glad to hear all is well at home.

DH started his lesson at 7.30am this morning, eek. His test is like 08.50am or something, fingers crossed...

I don't like Stilton, I wish I did tho!

I quite like Sheffield, I have a friend who lives there, DH and I went to visit them in summer 2017, it is very green which is nice. Very hilly too! Get good exercise walking about there!

Also won't say anymore on Brexit but it's really embarrassing that May hasn't resigned yet, after the scale of her defeat Hmm.

Girlie You might want to check with the job people that they will reconsider you before you apply because often they won't reconsider previous applicants within a certain timeframe for the same job, sometimes they write it in the job advert but not sure they would always do that (although probably dodgey if they didn't?). Might be worth talking to them cos you don't want to waste your time if they won't reconsider you properly.

ememem84 · 16/01/2019 08:32

At the dentist. Yay. Hopefully it’ll be a quick appointment.

Journey in was a nightmare. I had to hop out of the car as we’d got stopped in traffic. I think there’s must have been an accident somewhere in front of us. But I had to hop out so I could ge to appointment on time.

On the plus side I’ve done 2600 steps so far this morning. And still have to walk to work!

Bornlazy · 16/01/2019 09:43

Morning everyone. Waiting patiently for the Boots sale to go to 70% off - there was a rumour oh HUKD that is was to be today, but it’s not so think it will probably be Friday. I have quite a few birthdays to buy for in February and March so usually stock up on Sanctuary and Soap & Glory.

I started doing some surveys again last night. They are mind numbingly boring but relatively easy to do whilst watching tv, so going to keep plugging away at them.

Meadow you are doing really well, and when your dd finally settles down you will appreciate it all the more as you know how hard it can be.

Autumn nice to see you and glad that RL is good for you right now. I miss all the missing posters, especially Fluffy. I feel this is her thread and hope her leaving isn’t permanent 😨

MeadowHay · 16/01/2019 10:42

Yaaaaaaaaaaaas DH passed his driving test! Grin

Can anyone recommend a good, affordable online florist? A lady in my little WhatsApp group of local parents that I meet up with sometimes, her dad has just died so I am going to organise to send her some flowers and in theory do a collection for it (probably will never get the money off half of them... but want to do it anyway). Nothing proper fancy for money reasons and also because don't know her that well either so don't want to go over the top. (Also, what kind of flowers do you send for a bereavement, I'm assuming the website will guide me on that one?!)

Happierwithouthim · 16/01/2019 10:55

Well done meadowDH
I spent €6 on lotto tickets for an 80 year old man's birthday and €2.50 on cat food last night.

Wolfcub · 16/01/2019 10:56

That’s great meadow

I use Waitrose florist

ememem84 · 16/01/2019 11:13

Yaaaaas meadow great news. That’ll make things easier for you guys I suppose!

Can’t recommend An online florist but I’d either go with the florists guidance or just go white/cream roses. Simple. Elegant. Avoid lilies. They are meant to symbolise death (and stink and are harmful to cats).

ememem84 · 16/01/2019 11:16

£4.50 on a choc croissant (actual croissant with Nutella filling...) and an apple strawberry lemon juice in bakery on way to work from Dentist.

Dentist said my teeth are tracking really nicely and he’s super pleased with the progress

Beauticians at lunchtime. Waxing. Ouch. £24 maybe.

Then I have to buy lunch as I’m a lazy cah and cba to make anything.

Thatsnotmybaby · 16/01/2019 11:36

Morning everyone.
Thanks for new thread @sneakygremlins.
NSD for last couple of days as I've been at home with a poorly DS.

Bornlazy · 16/01/2019 12:08

Well done Meadow’s dh!! That’s a great boost to you both. I have used Bunches before for flowers and they were well received, they have 20% off at the moment and free delivery.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 16/01/2019 13:11

Haven't had a chance to read through last few days. Yesterday Spent £18.81 in co-op (£8 was on toilet roll that was on offer 24 Andrex), £4 girls brigade and £11.99 on headphones as I dropped mine and cracked them they still work but wanted a back up pair (I only like a certain style due to my scaffolding piercing, unfortunately they seem to be discontinuing them so couldn't get my first choice of colour)

Feeling crappy today about to have a big bowl of mash potatoes for lunch, got to love comfort food, I crave carbs this time of the month!!

I hope everyone is ok will have a read through this afternoon in between tidying and sorting my pit of a house 😂

WreckTangled · 16/01/2019 13:25

Meadow that's great! Not sure on flowers I usually go for whatever I can find a voucher for Grin

Nsd here.

SnugglySnerd · 16/01/2019 13:34

Well done Meadow's dh! Good luck with the cbt this afternoon. I did it years ago. Best thing I ever did.

I have heartburn. Not sure why haven't eaten much today and all of it was sensible!

Happierwithouthim · 16/01/2019 14:46

I know a cause for heartburn snuggly but you might not want to hear it ................

Good luck with CBT meadow

SneakyGremlins · 16/01/2019 15:10

em I'm glad it's not just me who gets a doughnut or something similar straight after the dentist Grin

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/01/2019 15:15

I was thinking the same happier Grin although I sometimes get heartburn for no apparent reason

Bornlazy · 16/01/2019 15:42

How's the wok going Sneaky are you using it today?

Went to The Co op this afternoon and got three rolls of really nice Christmas paper for 40p, as it is still 3for2, and bows for 25p. Also bought four packets of Jacobs Treelets as they were only 38p. Obviously these will last me for a few days months Wink

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2019 16:38
