Not a fan of in the night garden but we all love Pocoyo. :o

Spendy morning 😳
Nearly £70 in sales across Boots and Paperchase (not including my prescription). Wrapping paper, a few necessaries like ballet bun nets and mouthwash, wrapping paper for next Christmas (actually ran out this time! I have a wrapping paper box to store it), two diaries as I use one just to record our home ed work, a couple of other bits for next Christmas like a stocking for Cagletini, some birthday presents for DD including hufflepuff makeup :o and I also got her one of those microwaveable teddies. I am going to hide it until she starts her periods so she can use that for tummy cramps instead of our boring hot water bottles. :)

Through all this I was seriously craving caffeine and chocolate but I resisted 😇 have asked DH to put some water in the fridge for me for when I get home.

So saw the GP, he agrees paroxetine is a lame duck for me. It takes 3 weeks minimum to gradually come off it 😱 and we’ve agreed I won’t start anything else just yet as we will be discussing options with CMHT when I see then. I’m going to phone them shortly to see where my referral is.

SneakyGremlins · 08/01/2019 13:09

At least I won't run out of pasta!

Frugaleer just jamming.
SnugglySnerd · 08/01/2019 13:14

Grin Em!

Autumn I have a video of when ds first crawled. It's adorable up to the point where he stops to throw up!

That's quite a haul Sneaky. I have a similar drawer full of flour!

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 13:16

Oh dear Snuggly. I think that would be too real life for me. I'm keen to forget those bits.

Good pasta Sneaky

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/01/2019 13:18

Lost a post last night which is very annoying as it was a good one 😂 anyway spends were 6 weeks of pilates £36 and a few other bits I've forgotten.

cag dd has one of those teddies and loves it! Still no periods which surprises me a bit as she is almost 13 now (am glad though!)

Just spent £4 ish at the post office posting things and buying hula hoops!

I've just finished reading 'The art of caring' which I would recommend to everyone but especially the nurses and hcas here. It's written by a nurse and is great, although wish she gave community nurses a mention 😉 as always we are the forgotten relation in the nursing world!

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 13:20

I've been looking for a book like that for years Girlie. I'll have a go. Thanks Smile

ememem84 · 08/01/2019 13:31

Yep autumn it was a cba day today. I should have made something but it would have been a cheese sandwich. And I really didn’t want that.

Ick.

I like cheese but not just plain cheese. Boring.

Am counting down the hours now. My step count is awful today. Only 4000 steps.

Cagliostro · 08/01/2019 14:20

Aaaaand CMHT have no record of me on their files despite the Doctor sending a referral on 21/12. FFS.

Cagliostro · 08/01/2019 14:36

Have left it with the GP to chase up.

On the plus side while I was on hold I made a lovely spicy parsnip soup in the soup maker. Le yum!

Thatsnotmybaby · 08/01/2019 14:37

Oh that's ridiculous @cag, you must be so annoyed. What happens now?

Spends today:
£10 on a water bottle for DS and some healthy snacks for work for me. The bottle was pricey but it has the quantities marked on it and DS loves numbers so hopefully we can use that to encourage him to drink more, which he really needs.
Refund of £10 for the dress I bought last week.

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 14:48

That's not very long ago that the referral was sent, taking Christmas into account. Maybe it will just be a bit longer. I applied on the 9th November and was seen this week. I don't think they move very fast.

Cagliostro · 08/01/2019 15:17

It’s done electronically though? So they should have received it. Anyway GP is going to chase it and I have to phone back on Friday if I’ve not heard anything.

Rowan fell asleep in the high chair after doing that swaying, jumping up again, swaying again Thing.

Just had an interesting and useful discussion with a friend, she reckons it may be better to go for individual assessments for particular things rather than an ed psych to do it all. Something to ponder and she has some contacts that will be useful.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/01/2019 15:17

Justabadwife That’s ok then, you’ll soon clear it doing that.

Happierwithouthim · 08/01/2019 15:28

€9 refund from returning a headband that didn't fit mine or dd's head, it was so pretty Sad

NSD today

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 17:02

Yes I see what you mean about the electronic referral. That's odd that it's gone missing certainly.

Individual assessment sounds good if you know what to look for. I wish they still did the three year old development tests. I failed mine and the pre-school test on two counts and nobody did anything about it, but at least there was a test in those days.

I am the proud owner of a potato hoe now. It must be fantastically difficult to package a hoe to send in the post. I had to take the packaging off with nail scissors.

Wolfcub · 08/01/2019 17:28

£5 work canteen
£7 pret
£2.50 paperchase birthday card for nephew
Will also have to spend £10 on parking

£17 of that reclaimable from work

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 17:43

Oh gosh, it sounds as though it is quite a read. Thanks Girlie.

I've just been dipping my toe in the water of that kind of work for the last few years, but I feel as though a bit of nursing training would have gone a long way. I suppose there is more to come and I should still try to learn.

WreckTangled · 08/01/2019 17:43

Autumn we do 2.5yr developmental reviews in our area. Plus there's a starting school questionnaire where you can flag any health issues prior to your child starting school.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/01/2019 17:47

Someone told me today that soon you'll be able to do nurse training online 😵 that's scary!!

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 17:49

That sounds good then. The problem with that questionnaire is that I'd had all the same problems myself and been bullied for them. So filling in a questionnaire where I try to say how my child differs from the norm wouldn't have worked. Partly I didn't know, and partly I was scared to say.

The test that I had as a child should have showed that I couldn't catch a ball or communicate verbally. But they ignored the fact that I couldn't catch, and allowed my dm to talk for me. With hindsight that was pretty bad for me. The eye problem that stopped me catching aged 3 stopped me reading by 22, which was just when I needed to be financially independent.

I think that for the few kids who do have these developmental issues, the tests really do matter.

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/01/2019 17:50

Eeek! it's the hands on (messy and screamy) stuff that's difficult and that's probably quite hard to learn online.

WreckTangled · 08/01/2019 17:58

You would still have to do placements. Surely it's similar to doing it through the open university.

Well yes if you can't articulate the problem then I suppose no one can help. 99% of children attend pre school prior to starting school anyway where most issues are picked up. It's not saying how they're different from the norm it's just asking if you have any worries wrt x, y & z.

northender · 08/01/2019 18:33

Another full day of study here. Fed up of it now. Need to submit the essay tonight so that I can just concentrate on reading for the exam tomorrow.
Another frugal thing. I still have the plate from my teeth whitening and some of the bleach solution unopened so I'm going to give them a top up.
