In my defence the leaves look the same!

I have an NHS PPC thingy - save £1000+ a year

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/12/2018 22:53

What's PPC?

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/12/2018 22:53

Oh! Pre-payment certificate?

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 04/12/2018 23:57

Yes Smile

Wrongwayup · 05/12/2018 06:21

Sneaky what are your circumstances and how much support do you have?

ChristmasSeacow · 05/12/2018 07:58

Hello! Missed a couple of days - busy here.

Oven man is getting back to me today re. Cost and timescales for new part. I bet it’s not cheap Confused but tbh I’ll just be happy if it can be sorted before Christmas.

Work today but DS woke up at 3.30am and wouldn’t go back to sleep. I only went to sleep at midnight (Up late ordering stuff to make sweet things for the pta bake sale that I can make without an oven). So I’m completely shattered today. And it’s another big presentation to the board - the main one of the three. Ug.

Spent £50 in Jojo yesterday on snow boots for dd (to wear in the buggy on the school run - she’s too long for be buggy footmuff and her feet are always freezing so I’ll try this) , a drinks bottle, a toy for her for Christmas, some socks and some stripey rainbow tights that make me happy! I had a 15% off voucher so was pleased with that. It’s a bit expensive for basics but the socks and tights have grippy bits on the bottom so she’s much less likely to go splat.

Nothing to take for lunch so i’ll have to buy it. Also eating out tonight with ‘expensive’ friends so probably £££.

I’m out a lot at the mo so diet is falling by the wayside a bit Blush

AutumnLeaves12 · 05/12/2018 08:05

Christmas Good luck with the presentation. I hope the day goes nice and easily for you.

I read a dieting book once that said that if you're eating out at an expensive place for work then it's okay to just ask for grilled fish and new potatoes and vegetables and to ask them to put the sauce on the side so that you can have a bit, but not have the whole thing drowning in calories. I thought that was quite clever really. The book was by a Conservative politician who ate out all the time, but I've forgotten his name.

I'm having a day of working at a moderate pace and not spending any money. dh got a terrible shock looking at his visa bill yesterday, but then we realised that it was because I blew £1000 on computer parts, that will be reimbursed. He was briefly extremely surprised.

ememem84 · 05/12/2018 09:45

Morning all. Ds woke up at 2. 😭. But went back to sleep at 330. I slept in until 7. Dh has gone to work and ds is now napping. I’m catching up on emails. And have loaded dishwasher thrown a load of washing in and am finally having a cup of tea.

Dparents are coming round later this morning. Ddad has booked my car in to get its headlights fixed. So we’ll take that up later this morning. They’re also bringing catface some litter for her box.

How’s the rash em?

Nsd today hopefully 🤞

Sneaky do you not qualify for free prescriptions?

Happierwithouthim · 05/12/2018 12:39

€64 on jewellery for wedding at end of month and gibson jigsaw 12 days of christmas set too. My Christmas club pays out tomorrow and I'm spending majority of it paying for a load of wood pellets so I'm treating myself to this out of it.

ememem84 · 05/12/2018 13:39

born the rash is no worse (I drew a line on his leg with biro where around the edges....) but no better. But no worse so I’m comforted by that.

He’s tired. He’s refusing naps. But generally he’s ok. Dparents came over to see him and brought him a pop up book. Took car in for its new headlight £10. And stopped at boots on the way home for some calamine lotion (which they don’t sell...). The pharmacist gave me some calamine aqueous cream and also suggested piraton if the rash is itchy. Ds was scratching it. Added bonus of piraton is that he will get drowsy. 😉 he’s has some now and has just I think fingers crossed dropped off to sleep.

Dm swept floors and folded laundry for me. She’s a star.

We’re going to an Italian Christmas baking evening tonight. Excited!!!

Oh also £15 something in boots on paracetamol for ds, piraton stuff, calamine cream, nappies, cotton buds and some cotton wool pads.

Wrongwayup I have an aftercare worker and a housing support worker - the latter visits me every fortnight and helps me tidy the flat a bit and keeps an eye on me.

Bornlazy I don't think so? Will look into it.

ememem84 · 05/12/2018 13:58

Counted up my change jar. £81.70 in £1 £2 50p and 20p. Will drag that to work tomorrow and pay it in.

Nice work Em. Smile

Is it very heavy?

ememem84 · 05/12/2018 14:09

It’s ok. It was only in a peanut butter jar.

AutumnLeaves12 · 05/12/2018 14:12

Ah. Good stuff. I like those massive jars of pennies that people collect. It's beyond me how they can then lug them to the bank. Grin

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 05/12/2018 14:15

That's what stops me from doing it. I hate heavy things Grin

ememem84 · 05/12/2018 14:26

I’m just annoyed that I had to count it myself. My bank doesn’t have one of those counting machines. Sigh.

OP posts:
AutumnLeaves12 · 05/12/2018 14:28

That too. They have a really cool machine in Sainsbury's here that counts money but it keeps 7% which takes some of the fun out of it.

Sneaky I'm totally with you on that.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/12/2018 15:14

I used to get free prescriptions when I was on jsa. I had to take proof with me every time though.

£7 loo roll, milk, tomatoes in Aldi
£1.15 1kg pasta and bread Morrison’s
£10 petrol.

No mb today but I had to work.

Quiteisnotinthedanceoff · 05/12/2018 15:41

Spent my Nectar points on all the Christmas freezer stuff, dry stuff and drinks. .
Will be hidden away !
£150 -included chocs and a small tree for DS room 😆
It was absolutely dead in there -jangly Christmas music playing and barely a soul .
Just need to do local shopping for meat, fruit and veg the weekend before .
Which we can walk to ,so stress free.

Might do the trees this weekend coming,Ive deep cleaned half the house so depends how much energy I have after the other half is done !

AutumnLeaves12 · 05/12/2018 15:45

How deep is deep cleaning Quite?

AutumnLeaves12 · 05/12/2018 15:45

That's not meant to be sarcastic btw. I just wondered what it actually means. I've only heard it used in hospital before.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/12/2018 15:49

Aldi was dead last week for me. I’m still 1300 nectar points short of my 5000 target.
