Hello All Smile
Have been having a break from SM,reading and doing stuff instead .

Spends have been ok.
Christmas shopping is almost done apart from a few bits and bobs .
All paid with money saved up and have £600 to roll over for next year .
I will not twitch and buy anything else !

Also DH and I had a lovely weekend away in a teeny cottage out of that fund ,was a nice break and yarn was purchased @LonelyOversharer Wink
Ive just frugally checked last years leftover Christmas pud and it looks and smells fine.
Plan to make a couple of Nigellas mincemeat cakes and top with jewelled glazed fruit .

Has anyone been watching Kirsties Handmade Christmas ?
Fab ideas for keeping DC occupied and its so relaxing😍
Sad to see Charles leave Strictly and Shock that Pashley have been in the dance off again.
Already excited for this Saturday Grin

Born Boring is a better word for it. Free money though.

Team profit is a good site.

ememem84 · 04/12/2018 15:44

Opinions please. What does this rash look like?

Should clarify I’m not seeking medical advice. Ds has an appointment at dr at 430. He had a high temperature last night 38.4. Dropped to 35 this morning. Now 37.5 at nursery. Very cuddly. Not off his food.

Are you thinking chicken pox?

ememem84 · 04/12/2018 15:54

I am yes. Nursery aren’t. But I’m only thinking it as they have two confirmed cases of it. That rash wasn’t there this morning.

I’d be thinking cpox Em. Poor ds. If it is cpox then virasoothe is an absolute lifesaver

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 04/12/2018 15:57

Looks like CP to me. Poor little tyke

ememem84 · 04/12/2018 16:06

Bugger it. That’s what I thought. Dr will confirm. Bloody awful timing too. As dparents are away next week. Aaaaaah.

Sorry to hear that Em. Good luck there.

My ds has a temperature of 38.5 and no other symptoms which is really more suspense than I wanted. If you could send me just-a-heavy-cold vibes I'd be hugely grateful.

Happierwithouthim · 04/12/2018 16:26

I'd be thinking chicken pox too em
Kitkat I must also buy calpol today, I dropped a new bottle on Sunday evening Angry

Happierwithouthim · 04/12/2018 16:40

autumn my ds is battling temp of between 37.6 and 40 since sunday morning but his fever finally broke this morning. H wanted him to be taken to the doctors, I didn't see the point as he had no other symptoms, he was just tired and sleeping a lot. We seem to be through the other side now

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/12/2018 16:46

Happier that's very good news indeed. I'm glad your ds is better and I hope that's all we have too. Actually now you mention it, I had something like that last year. Interesting!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/12/2018 16:48

Oh no re poorly babies and kids, it's hard to see in the pic em but CP rash looks like tiny blisters.

We're still full of cold, I'm ploughing on but am seriously flagging with tiredness, did not sleep well at all last night.

Nsd.

Any of you own a ceramic wand for your hair? I think I want one!

MeadowHay · 04/12/2018 16:52

Hope everyone's DC soon feel better! DD is recovering from her bronchiolitis, she's pretty much fine other than a bit of a wheezy chest and a little bit of a snuffed up nose sometimes. The HV came and said they can have some symptoms up to 6 weeks so might be a few weeks til it's all gone, but she's feeding as normal now and not screaming as much and napping a little better too PHEW.

Booked my last Ocado shop cos it was our last £10 voucher, spent like £90 even with the voucher OUCH. I did get a lot of stuff though including things like laundry liquid and dishwasher tabs that I won't need to buy again for months. Farewell Ocado, your products will be missed but your prices deffo won't be.

Also spent about £5 on postage at the post office, sending Xmas and birthday gifts to friends of ours.

Oh buggar I need to call the referral thing, I got referred to IAPT for CBT and need to call to complete the referral, eek.

Kitkatmonster · 04/12/2018 16:57

I do girlie it’s very good but I don’t use it a lot really, it gathers dust.

em another vote for chicken pox.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 04/12/2018 17:06

If any frugaleers are gardeners can I ask you where you get your seeds/plants from? Smile planning ahead for next year, will be growing my own veg!

Happierwithouthim · 04/12/2018 17:38

€20.79 on calpol for backup, Epsom salts for my bootcamp doms and a bottle of night nurse for my poor head Sad

My friend bought my lunch as I spent it typing for her, must go in early to do more tomo.

Wrongwayup · 04/12/2018 17:53

Sneaky also and lid l do cheap seeds and compost. If you don't mind me asking how old are you?

Wrongwayup · 04/12/2018 17:54

Aldi and lidl🐱

Wolfcub · 04/12/2018 17:57

Sneaky just a word of warning on the veg, if you are growing for pleasure great. If you are growing to save money and put food on the table there is risk involved. I’m not particularly green fingered but I’m not a complete chump either and I definitely never got a good return in my investment.

Others on here do brilliantly though

Unescorted · 04/12/2018 18:00

sneaky I can send on some of the ones lonely sent me. They worked well this year.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/12/2018 18:05

Money saving expert always say to grow the expensive stuff. So soft fruit, salad veg. Things like that.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 04/12/2018 18:10

I managed to grow peppers, tomatoes, and a cucumber plant in my bedroom this year as well as various herbs. It's mainly for pleasure but I've got tons of room so could grow enough to make sauces etc with.

I'm 20 Smile

Already get compost from Aldi but have never seen seeds there!

Unescorted That's so kind, thankyou Flowers

Unescorted · 04/12/2018 18:18

Pm me your address & I will post / drop off. I have also been spice (culinary not Piccadilly Gardens,) shopping and have more than I will use... Do you want to be added to the spice box list too? They are whole but I have grinder so no bother to whizz them up if that makes it easier.

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/12/2018 18:23

Sneaky Lamb's lettuce and also any other kind of lettuce are incredibly reliable. You need to leave the seeds open to the light for germination.

Generally the trick with plants is that they require quite specific growing conditions which can be radically different from one plant species to the next. If you can provide those conditions then growing the plant is easy. If you can't then it's a lost cause.

For example my family in Scotland can grow ferns really easily because the weather is very wet there. Where as in East Anglia I can grow South African and South American plants really easily because the weather is hot and dry.

Where do you live geographically, and do you have outside space or just inside?

Have you considered growing mushrooms? They are tasty and nutritious and easy to grow indoors.

These people are cheap for plants but the postage is a lot so you'd be wanting to make a big order or share with someone else:
