Cag it gets worse. The elmlea pot clearly has £1 printed on the side so either the shop fleeced ds (they have a bit of a rep) or ds is lying

ememem84 · 03/12/2018 18:34

cag absolutely. Self investment is a great thing. It’s boosted my confidence a bit too.

When I get home I’ll snap a pic of my aligners so you can see the progress. I kept the first set. I’ve had them in since February and amgoing until May. It is a big spend. But I’d been talking about it for ages and had money saved up from work before I went on mat leave. It was a planned thing. I figured if it hurt (it sometimes does) or if it made me lisp a bit initially I’d be over it by the time I went back to work.

Dh is working late. Ds and I have had a play with grandma and grandad. I’ve had a chocolate brownie. Ds has a bit of a temperature so I hope he’s ok. Gave him some calpol as his big teeth are coming through too. He actually sounds like he did when he had bronciolitis a while ago. I think I’m going to clear the spare bed tonight in case he needs to sleep with one of us.
We’re just waiting for dh now.

£8 Aldi top up.
£2 Tesco shower gel but free on checkoutsmart
£5 petrol.

Finally got my 5000 nectar point reward, they top it up to £27.50.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 03/12/2018 18:56

Sneaky that is really good for a private rental.

Cag, I agree with others, self investment is never wasted

£5.25 in Sainsburys on milk, bread and some bits for dd2 for packed lunch tomorrow, I found the letter in her coat pocket this morning!

Bornlazy · 03/12/2018 19:05

My soup maker has stopped working ShockShock
I have contacted Amazon and they have sent me a label to return it for a refund. Just hope it doesn't start working again as it seems to be an intermittent fault.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 03/12/2018 19:08

Working intermittently is still broken in my opinion, get it back to them!

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2018 19:25

Cag, try Matalan. They go to a 28 back.
Welcome sneaky.
Friend of mine in their 40s is getting their teeth done. Think it's the same as em.

Gah DC have changed their mind on Christmas after I've bought their presents. Of to Currys tomorrow to exchange 2 TVs for games console. No bloody deals though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2018 19:25

Returning fire stick to Amazon for which they are charging me £4 for the pleasure.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2018 19:28

Send it back born. Guaranteed it will bust for good just outside of warranty.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2018 19:29

£250 2x wills.
£4 posting a parcel
£8 Tesco

ememem84 · 03/12/2018 19:39

This is my top set. In each pic the top aligner is the very first one the bottom one is my current one. For me the most Inpressive thing is that my front teeth have been brought in line instead of lower than each other and one sticking out.

Hold up. In the pic with them lying down top one is current.

Wolfcub · 03/12/2018 19:57

Wow Em that’s a pretty significant change in the time. If I win the lottery I will be getting mine done as well. I hate my front teeth

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/12/2018 20:01

That's a great difference em.

Cagliostro · 03/12/2018 20:05

Wow that’s an incredible difference already!

Kitkatmonster · 03/12/2018 20:12

Oh I’m getting interested in the orthodontics and I really can’t afford it. I think I need to park it in my ‘things to look at when I’m debt free’ corner of my mind.

Definitely agree send the soup maker back. I always find Amazon really good at dealing with rerturns. My prime membership expires on Christmas Day and I’m still debating whether to renew it or not: it’s expensive but something we really do use a lot as a family (we use the prime TV/movie, music as well as deliveries).

I spent £3.95 today after all, I popped to the post office as DH came home early. It was on sending a parcel, which I would have ended up sending one day this week regardless, but I’m annoyed with myself that it buggered up my NSD.

I can’t work out why but there’s an £81 difference between my remaining account balance and what I thought I had budgeted on paper. I need to go through it all tonight to understand why. Do you all keep paper diaries if spends or use apps etc? My online banking also bugs me because it can take days for debit card payments to show, so if I don’t write it down I lose track. Pending payments only shows direct debits on mine.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 03/12/2018 20:15

Can I change from paying yearly for prime to paying monthly?

Wolfcub · 03/12/2018 20:17

Sneaky you can at the renewal point but it will cost you more overall

Kit I use the reminders and lists function on the iPhone

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 03/12/2018 20:27

Best get saving for February then!

AutumnLeaves12 · 03/12/2018 20:47

sneaky do you pay for amazon prime when you can't afford heating and food? That seems like a potential place where you could adjust priorities.

AutumnLeaves12 · 03/12/2018 20:48

I speak as one whose priorities are utterly topsy turvy. I frequently forget to eat because I am building some new device, and it's just too exciting.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/12/2018 20:53

Some of the prime stuff is available online. We’ve watched all the grand tour stuff with no prime.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/12/2018 21:09

I was talking to a friend earlier about the fact that I don't pay for any 'extras' I don't have any extra TV channels, no Netflix, no music (Spotify etc) and I don't subscribe to anything. I don't feel like I'm missing out although possibly dd does!!

Been out to pilates tonight so feel well stretched!

cag dd is still in seamless sport crop tops from m&s! She isn't particularly well developed yet though (think she will take after me bless her!) Could you take her into marks to be properly measured and get some advice?

ememem84 · 03/12/2018 21:19

cag re bras although we don’t have primark here I really rate their bras. Maybe take ds for a measuring and then buy some fun ones there?

Or new look maybe I think their kids/teens range do bras.

We have both amazon prime and Netflix. Dh has Spotify. We ditched Sky ages ago as were paying £64 a month. Now it’s less than £20. And we do watch things a lot.

Ds is in bed. His temperature was up. But it’s gone down somewhat. He doesn’t feel as warm to the touch now. And is sleeping so that’s good. Chicken pox is doing the rounds at nursery. Fingers crossed it’s just a cold/teething. I’m sure he’ll be fine, although I’ve cleared the spare bed just in case one of us needs to get up with him and cuddle. Have also told dh that I have to go into work tomorrow so if one of us has to stay home it’s him.
