Today £21 postage (all in paypal though) and £1 on a bag of giant hula hoops, why are they so much better than regular sized ones?

My dp is from a bit of Scotland where "ye ken?" is his staple phrase. Hideously, after being with him for nearly 10 years, I now use lots of Scottish phrases in my clipped English accent. This generally makes proper Scottish folk look at me a bit oddly and then laugh at me

Getting along with my knitting tonight...sold 3 camels on etsy to the same lady in the States who bought 6 from me last year. I do wonder what she is doing with them all! Luckily I have 3 knitted, just need to sew up and finish off.

NSD - HOPEFULLY TOMORROW WILL BE AS WELL

AutumnLeaves12 · 15/11/2018 18:14

That's hilarious lonely. Maybe that is what will happen to my neighour who is trying to be accommodating by saying "mind how you go". If it goes on too long I shall have to doff my hat and say "top of the morning to you" in return.

AdoraBell · 15/11/2018 18:23

£48 on Pilates.

SneakyGremlins · 15/11/2018 18:33

I'm sorry, giant what now?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/11/2018 19:05

I've not heard of them either sneaky

Ds is being very difficult since the separation, hitting me, cursing at me & being extremely defiant (which is saying a lot because he was extremely stubborn cross anyhow) I was planning on waiting until after Christmas to decide on play therapy but now I'm not so sure. He's superglued to a soft toy now which must help him.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 19:25

NSD.
Sea, glad you got to bed at a more reasonable hour.
Does the junction begin with an L? I bet we have walked past each other in Westfields or at that junction, I use it pretty regularly.

Nursie, I'm so sorry Flowers

Mammy, you are doing a brilliant job and you will work out what is best for your ds x.

Could I ask what kind of skin products you all use please?
I have kind of oily skin and medium pores and still prone to spots. I tend to use Nivea, but I think I need something different. Any suggestions? As frugal as possible and ideally vegan.
Thanks

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/11/2018 19:30

I'm loving vitamin e range from Superdrug but I've normal skin so possibly not the best to advise. Thanks for the support Smile

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 19:37

No worries mammy
I do use Superdrug a lot, it is cheap, mostly vegan and the products work, but I was looking in there the other day and couldn't really find anything in their own range for oily skin, apart from tea tree and I think my skin is too mature for that?!

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/11/2018 19:44

I use their brightening range but I’m fast coming to the conclusion a cheap one is as good as an expensive one. Oily skin here too.

Unescorted · 15/11/2018 20:03

nursie that is hard.

ememem84 · 15/11/2018 20:15

sneaky they’re amazing. The salted ones are delish. As are the beeeeeeef.

nursie so sorry xxx

£28 waxing. Ouchie.

My boots broke beyond repair today. So I’m going to have to get a new pair. Sigh. For once it’s a spend I don’t want to make.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 20:19

Fluffy, is that the Naturally Radiant range? Do they do one for oily skin or is it just combination skin?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/11/2018 20:40

I think it’s just combination. Aldi used to do a face wash too.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 21:10

Thanks fluffy.
Do you all cleanse tone and moisturiser, everyday, twice a day?
If so do you think your skin is better for it?

And what about make up, foundation, is there a brand that is particularly good for oily skin?
Plus what is with all the primer, setting spray and stuff. I remember, back in the day, you cleaned yer face, slapped some foundation on with your fingers, did eyeshadow, mascara, lippy and a bit of pressed powder! (Not that I was much better back then, then I am now at applying it, maybe I just had a steadier hand).
Now it's like a bloody art form!

SneakyGremlins · 15/11/2018 21:13

I'm glad society hasn't told men we need makeup Grin I'd spend hours on it!

That Aldi luxury chocolate is gorgeous.

ememem84 · 15/11/2018 21:28

curvy my daily routine goes something like this:

Get up, shower, wash face (currently soap n glory cleansing face soap), wash hair depending on the day. Dry. Body moisturiser, eye cream face moisturise. Then primer foundation (usually a light powder one) eye shadow, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner (pencil for bottom line and liquid for too) mascara. Do hair. Sometimes Lipstick

I’ve got it down to 30 minutes. I wash my hair twice a week.

In the evenings I take make up off then night moisturiser.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 21:37

Thanks em, do you think your skin benefits from it?
I definitely need to do something as I'm finding I am looking quite tired.
How did you find what worked for you? Through trial and error or did you get advice from somewhere?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/11/2018 21:43

Sneaky My mum sold male cosmetics lates 1960s early 70s time but it didn’t catch on. She worked for Aramis in a department store.

Curvy I cleanse, tone, the ordinary euk antioxidant, spf 50. Make up. The ordinarys nicanamide and zinc is good for stopping oil. Calamine at night can reduce oil, leave it on 10 mins or so and rinse.

Then in the evening oil cleanse, cleanse, tone, 20 mins later I apply prescription azaelic acid to get rid of the scars my acne outbreak in the summer left me with.

Once a week I do a glycolic Peel from the ordinary.

The sunblock is the number one important thing. You must wear spf 50 every single day if you want to prevent aging. Second most important thing is antioxidant serums.

If there’s one thing this summer has taught me is that skincare is arbitrary, you’ve either got good skin or not. You can support it and protect but if it all goes wrong you’re just a passenger.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/11/2018 22:03

Oh I agree fluffy. I do wear sunblock, on my face but only a 15 or 30, so a 50 would be better, all year round?
Where can I find one that is absorbed quickly and well?
I guess I need to find something that I can maintain everyday, as when there is a million steps, I lose interest very quickly.

ememem84 · 16/11/2018 06:15

curvy I think it does benefit yes. Or at least I benefit. I try to go once a week no make up and am trying to drink more water.

I had awful skin as a teenager and in my early/mid 20’s. I did used to wear layers of make up though. Proper thick stuff. Mousse foundation. Wtf was that all about?!

It was mostly trial and error I guess. At present I’m using Clinique moisturisers and garnier micellar water To remove make up with microfibre cloths (cheeky wipes) I don’t like it the micellar water though. Have found since switching to cloth wipes from disposables my skin feels nicer. The moisturisers are nice.

I wear clarins facial spf 50 all year. It’s around £48. For a teeny bottle but you literally only need a few drops. And it absorbs well. And lasts. Although all my moisturisers have spf15.

AutumnLeaves12 · 16/11/2018 06:18

I think that we need to be a bit careful about heavy sunblock all year round as I've known a couple of people who did that who ended up with seasonal depression from getting no sun exposure on their skin. I think a bit of sun is good, just not too much.

ememem84 · 16/11/2018 06:27

I use this.

Although I don’t actually know where my bottle is at present. So my “I always wear it” is a lie. In the summer I do. But maybe not so much in winter. When I remember...

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/11/2018 06:28

Thanks everyone.
I may work up the courage to go and talk to one of the ladies at the beauty counters, they do scare me a bit though!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/11/2018 06:44

Just realised I could've got 2% cash back from topcashback on my Superdrug order #frugalfail Angry
