Lost a post drat Angry
Wolf hope camhs goes well, having change for things is bane of my life, why can't everything just be online? Or by card to hide from taxman no doubt Wink

I've made breakfast like that using Aldi toasting muffins but I've never had the real thing. I detest McDonalds Grin I've gone there with dc & waited until I came home to eat Grin. Did he not taste the egg?

€250 at solicitors €200 for appearing in court on my behalf & €50 to write a letter to h to get access sorted better & figure out why he decided to pay less into joint account. She suggested mediation because it's free but we've been there before & I'm not wasting my time on it.

Feel a bit worn out emotionally by it so once I've finished work this evening I'm going to be kind to myself. I do need to sort out my floor-robe though too.

€7.80 at Lidl 3 for €3 bags of bars for Halloween(going to ration them out for weeks between now & Christmas) 2 cans of monster rosso a meal replacement bar which was pretty nice (like a Milky Way)& only 99c with 9g protein & 5.1g fibre, bag of eyeball jellies for dc too

On the hunt for thermal socks, thermal vest is on & doing a wonderful job, so next step is socks. M & M direct have them at a good price but €5.99 postage Hmm

€21.96 on cinema tickets for au pair, dc & I using myomniplex discount & family ticket rate. We will go tomorrow & I'm undecided if I will take or buy snacks. Its a rare treat but will cost €20 extra plus we've got loads from Halloween

Cag can we see pic of back of DD's head, sounds fab

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/10/2018 14:50

£4 compost
£16 Aldi top up shop 🤔
£5.94 on choc but I split it into two transactions and claimed £5 back off TopCashback. Wolf You can claim it back too if you’ve bought sweets.

I need to tax my car now, £70 and buy tax investigation insurance. That’s £180 gone.

Not looking forward to tonight. Last year a small girl tried to take dhs bottle of wine off him as he unlocked the door.

Justanothermile · 31/10/2018 15:11

£2 Sainsbury's, needed to buy to scan the points vouchers as I got £30 in total of Nectar points.

Roast pumpkin and chilli soup for tea.

Off work now until Monday as owed hours.

SneakyGremlins · 31/10/2018 15:21

Got £7 I'm saving for next week's food - and 50p for reduced bread Grin

ememem84 · 31/10/2018 15:29

sneaky that sounds inbelievably tight for a budget. Good luck with it.

AutumnLeaves12 · 31/10/2018 15:37

It reminds me of that challenge "eat well for a dollar a day". I''ve got friends who have done that.

Justanothermile · 31/10/2018 15:44

Sneaky, try the Jack Monroe website. It's for families on an extremely tight budget and every recipe is costed fully.

SneakyGremlins · 31/10/2018 15:47

I do have plenty in, don't worry Smile it's for things like milk or meat

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/10/2018 15:49

£9 back from returning my slippers to Tesco.

It’s tight Sneaky but do-able using smart price food and cheap dried pulses etc. Do you know what time the reduced food comes out? Our local Sainsbury’s starts at 3pm (to coincide with the schools?) whereas Tesco is 7pm or so.

The cooking on a bootstrap website is really good.

Tarriance · 31/10/2018 15:59

I've fell off the thread the past few days, but have caught up a little today. I have spent quite a lot in the last few days, but I have got quite a lot of Christmas presents sorted so I'm OK with this.

I was quite happy about Bake Off but I thought all of their final show stoppers looked terrible to be honest - none of them looked particularly appetising (to me anyway!)

Fluffycloudland77 & AutumnLeaves12 we carved turnips / swedes too! Well, my dad did them for us.

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/10/2018 16:13

I’ve bought turnip today, 39p in Aldi. Going to microwave it whole & mash it.

I had all my Christmas shopping done this time last year 😲. I’m way, way behind this year.

SnugglySnerd · 31/10/2018 16:39

I bought turnips the other day too to put in a Yotom Ottolenghi pumpkin recipe we made every year. Pumpkin fondue. It's utterly delicious and calorific!

Moanranger · 31/10/2018 17:54

Hi, all, I haven’t posted for ages; started posting late last year & took on board lots of useful points, such as:NSDs, eating out of the cupboard (amazing how many meals you can get out of tins & freezer!) Also aggressively changing every insurance & energy supplier every year. Not so great IMHO are nectar cards - I spend an average of £300 a mo on food & after 6 mo got about £6 off. I still use it, but I don’t expect much. Also cash back sites kind of pointless unless you are buying major appliances, etc, which I am not.
I spent a bit on Lighter Life last year which was well worth it as I lost ca 2 st and changed eating habits. Was looking into an alternative & heard about Noom, but as result of on line reviews decided Avoid! So I re-started using My Fitness Pal, strenuously resisting the Premium upgrade pushes, and am replacing my old Fitbit ( cannot open the back to replace battery for love nor money!) with a Misfit. Prices coming down on these all the time. So track food for free, exercise for free (walking, gardening & a weekly Pilates class for £6) and track exercise on Misfit app, also can link to MFP.
So this thread has been great for developing & maintaining a frugal mindset -it works!

Cagliostro · 31/10/2018 17:58

Mammy here is the hair, I should’ve taken a pic in daylight really as it’s actually super bright! Quite pleased with her costume TBH had sooo much fun ripping up the blazer 😳😂 (the messy parting is deliberate by the way 😂)

They’ve just gone off trick or treating on their own with friends (4 kids total) and have answered the door a few times to little ones too. They are only allowed alone through the street (it is gated) then me and friends mum will take them out elsewhere. Hardly anywhere has pumpkins out here.

Great to hear from you moanranger & well done on your weight loss. We've a frugaleers weight loss thread too if you want to join us there.

Cagliostro · 31/10/2018 18:00

You can also see our classy hallway stripes 😂

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/10/2018 18:01

Really cool cag that would be considered a tidy parting here Grin

Was interested because I've had both red & purple in my hair

SneakyGremlins · 31/10/2018 18:13

That's cool cag!

I have diagonal stripes on my wall Halloween Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/10/2018 18:19

I do wolf. I'm just under 5"4 and the length is to the top of my pubic bone. I don't have a tape but will measure when I get home. That goes over my ff bobbies and longer back

WereWolfcub · 31/10/2018 18:37

Thanks life. I’m taller with a longish body but my boobs are not as big.

We made the Ocado man happy letting him dip in the trick or treat bowl. He says customers are often very rude to drivers and never give them anything or have a chat. I always have a bit of a chat/how are you so I think that’s really sad and makes me think some people are very rude, just because someone is providing a service doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be nice. In fact I say this at work all the time, I judge people on how they treat the cleaners, posties and security guards. I’m going to make sure the Christmas delivery guy gets a mine pie or a beer or something.

SneakyGremlins · 31/10/2018 18:41

I always give the driver a box of celebrations to take home at Christmas Werewolfcub Smile they work so hard!

WereWolfcub · 31/10/2018 18:49

That’s a good idea Sneaky.

AutumnLeaves12 · 31/10/2018 18:52

Does anybody else feel rotten about the stomach if they wake up at 2am and don't get back to sleep? I did that the night before last and have been feeling rubbish all day today. It's a nuisance as we had halloween fun planned at my parents' house and I had to bail early.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/10/2018 19:03

Your dd has such thick hair cag 😍

So I've had an eventful day, went to a NT place and somehow the last alive wasp of the season found its way inside my jeans and stung me three times on the top of my leg 😱😲😨 very traumatic!!

Dd was very sweet and coped quite well with my subsequent meltdown and crying 😂 honestly these things only ever happen to me!!!

We only spent £7.50 and had a nice time despite the sore leg, driving home was a trial though!!

Dd has been trick n treating and we've had loads here, I've run out of steam now and eaten too much crap !

AutumnLeaves12 · 31/10/2018 19:05

Oh my goodness Girlie that does not sound fun or dignified at all. Well done for managing. Wasps do get in the most awkward places don't they?
