Channel 5 Fluffy. I reckon you could present a rival programme

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/06/2018 20:53

Who's the podiatrist? is it fluffy? Why does the joint on my big toe hurt on one foot. A bruise type pain when I bend in the outside of my foot.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/06/2018 20:53

Not sure fluffy I don't think so re bone marrow.

Cagliostro · 06/06/2018 20:55

Totally could fluffy - Mumsnet Moneysavers, presented by the Frugal Fluffster.

There's another one starting on C4 tomorrow with that Anna Richardson. Obviously a trendy theme.

No news here, horrible tummy cramps and swollen glands. I have done a bit of sorting out of stuff but not nearly as much as I wanted to.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/06/2018 21:06

YY meadow, hope you're anxiety hasn't gone through the roof cos of these posts. I know you were scared of it a bit. But you are on the radar of heath professional people, and is too.
Maybe meadow is enjoying squishy cuddles as she is due around now isn't she?

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/06/2018 21:07

I watched the last five minutes and told the telly to fuck off. Grin
Fluffy would so do a better job.

ememem84 · 06/06/2018 21:12

Ooh that anna Richardson boils my piss.

Dh thinks she’s dawn o’porter so everytime she’s on tv he thinks I’ll enjoy watching her show. Nope. I like watching dawn o’porter. Although she hasn’t done any new tv for ages.

Thank you all for your support. It’s nice (in a strange way) to hear that you’ve been through this.

I told my boss today and my team. I figured if the meds make me feel a bit floopy for a few days they need to know why. So far I feel ok.

Spoke to dh earlier. Told him that I need support and that it’s non negotiable. But it does work both ways. He supports me so I can in turn support him. This is where we’ve fallen down.

I know ds will be ok. He’s a champ. Except he burped in my face earlier (mmm lamb burps) and has learned to stick his fingers up me nose. He’s a delight Hmm ds doesn’t care that mummy’s going through a tough time. Ds cares that mummy’s there. that mummy “chases“ him down the hallway until he squeals. That Mummy gets just as excited as him at the guinnea pig in the noisy pets book.... and that Mummy does the tiger voice in the tiger who came to tea. 💙

northender · 06/06/2018 21:12

Fluffy is a podiatrist. life ouch! painful big toe is nuisance as you weight bear quite a bit through it whaen walking.
Em glad the GP was so understanding. Hope dh comes to his senses & quickly.
Seacow hope today went as well as it could.
Girlie singing or playing wind instruments are great for breathing control. I'm sure it'll be good for your dd with her history.

The only spends her today: diesel £5, tissues £1.75, oh and ££££ on the balance for our holiday (£2400 actually which for a family of 4 for 2 weeks in Spain in August seems good to me). We're going to N Spain by ferry after several years of going to France. 2 months to go & I'm getting excited!
Ds has officially left school today, but has 7 exams left & some "optional" revision sessions which we have deemed compulsory, much to his disappointment Grin. Scary how the time flies so quickly.

ememem84 · 06/06/2018 21:13

meadow my advice would be seek help sooner if you feel you need it.

I bottle things up. And then explode. So I should have seen my gp months ago. But because of the stigma attached to pnd just ignored it I suppose.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/06/2018 21:14

Oh my holiday payment will be going out this week too.

Sea, how was today? I'm sure your speech was lovely.

AuditAngel · 06/06/2018 21:27

Life I also have pain in my big toe joint on one foot, has been getting progressively worse over about 5 years or do. This is one of the increasing aches that means I am waiting for a rheumatology appointment. Family history.

Today NSD.

Put in request for absence for the two girls to perform in Evita next month.
Have to pay the travel insurance (we pay over the odds for this, so MIL and Aunty can stay covered for a reasonable cost) , annual policy for 5 of us, £161 (I know) but the cash back plan has changed and gone down (similar cover but not including claiming back the excess).

Water bill £144, about right, last bills were estimates, but if it is wet, the Meter hole floods so can check it.

Need to re-submit the feed in tariff as I got it wrong.

Wolfcub · 06/06/2018 21:33

Tonight was the night I was supposed to be at a comedy gig. I’m thankful I got money for the tickets but I’m having a midweek gin with my evening magnesium tablet; I’m missing out on so many things and it’s been a really difficult day with both ds and work.
I sat and did my sims again at lunchtime. They seem to be right. Can’t understand why they seem different to last month based on same figures.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2018 21:38

Could be soft tissue ie joint capsule Life, or a bit of O/A creeping in. A lot of orthopaedic conditions settle with nsaids on their own. There’s a lot of ligaments and tendon inserts around there ie a lot to go wrong.

I get o/a pain every so often and it’s so sore but it’s just normal aging.

I’d only worry if it persists.

North It sounds very reasonable. You’d pay that to stay in a reasonable house in Dartmouth in August.

CremeEggThief · 06/06/2018 22:44

75p on milk. I actually had to "borrow" 15p from DS's wallet, as I only had 60p in cash. Smile

LonelyOversharer · 06/06/2018 23:57

Crikey you lot. I've had a few frantic days, and so much is going on here.

Love Flowers em Star(for going to speak to the gp, its a big step, and you're a star too) and seacow Flowers hope everything today was bearable (how do you write down a big hug?)

Happy Birthdays too Flowers

We had an accident tonight, burst the totally bald like fabric showing tyre on the big car. Pot hole. Luckily just me and dp in the car, very slow speed, but uber annoying, and I had to call my dad Blush spare tyre is siezed under the car (do they check this at mot? It has never been moved in the 11 years quite clearly), so we limped the car to a safe place and parked it up for tonight. For fucks sake.

But, in 3 days I have spent £4.90 cash, £10 topping up my phone for the month, and £10 on dd2's dinner account. Some sort of record for me.

Sleep well my people ❤ x

SnugglySnerd · 07/06/2018 05:47

Why do small children wake up so early?? Whyyyy?? I want my bed but have to get ready for work soon.

Interesting to read about everyone's experiences with depression. It's something people tend not to talk about but it's surprisingly common.

I'm being summoned to read a book. Will try to check in again later.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/06/2018 06:26

That's annoying lonely. Well done on lsds though.

Thanks fluff.

Wolfcub · 07/06/2018 06:27

Oh no Lonely. I can recommend tyres on the drive as a good “come and fit” tyre service
Hope everyone is ok today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2018 06:49

The new topcashback grocery offers are out, nothing very exciting but a few store cupboard essentials. I’ll be buying cheap spaghetti for 20p for the 10p off & maybe custard to keep for winter.

Black circles do tyres too & sometimes cashback.

Wrongwayup · 07/06/2018 07:49

you chatty lot - can't keep up! yesterday £60 tesco and £23 on 2 hanging baskets - I blame Girlie her lovely garden has given me a touch of the Jones's

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2018 08:10

Dh has found a source of free plastic postage bags. He asks for a special delivery bag at the counter & then posts things recorded delivery instead.

My electric use has crept up from 4 units a day to 6 😡 and the supplier want to up my dd to nearly £40 a month so I am going back to washing clothes in cold water, bedding at 30 & I’ll open all the windows when I’m cooking rather than run the extractor. I’ve turned the fridge down to 1 and defrosted the freezer. No more occasional 75c dw cycles either.

I’m also changing supplier.

Laska5772 · 07/06/2018 08:47

Happy Birthday yesterday life

also seacow hope you are ok and the funeral went s well as it could

em I hope the meds take the edge off it for you and work is supportive.. When is MIl going back? That i am sure will help, youve had a lot to cope with!

Cag !! when are you going to see the house?.. ( so excited! for you ) vicariously of course but because in in the 'trade' (getting them built which is fraught with difficulty itself ) I love seeing them moved into and I know just what you have to go through to get one even , ..

My toe is still lovely and purple but swelling has gone down a fair bit .. Ill walk again.. actually think its just badly bruised now rather than broken as i can wiggle it ..

Life Thanks for your post, and for all the others on this subject. I think that I am dealing with PND or similar at the moment it's a revelation to me to know that so many have the same, but seem so fine. I have never had meds for it. I'm just slogging through it with grit and a certain amount of mint chewing gum too much.

Cagliostro · 07/06/2018 09:45

Aw thanks laska not heard anything else yet and trying not to panic! I will apparently need to have an OT assessment if I want to ask for adaptations according to our offer letter. I assumed that would happen automatically since we are being housed due to medical need (when we were put on band A they said my needs were "wet room and stair rail") TBH if there's a banister it's fine (our stairs don't have any in the middle section so I have to crawl up them on bad days) and a regular shower cubicle would do just as well as a wet room. Assuming it hasn't been changed since the plan it has a bath but I really hope there is at least a shower over said bath as that would be a massive improvement since ours doesn't work.

WreckTangled · 07/06/2018 09:49

Amazon are being dicks. They sent the wrong item but because it's a third party seller fulfilled by amazon they won't replace only refund. I don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a refund etc etc. I've suggested they give me a voucher for the amount so I can purchase it again. Hmm
