Some people do. Ick.

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/04/2018 20:12

So sorry about Dpiggy seacow

£390 on car service and a repair needed. Urgh. And really I should have got two new tyres too but that would have been another £130.

In the plus side I got a free medium box of lindor with my Ocado shop.

Do you go back to work next week em? Glad DS is liking nursery, but yes the first three months of childcare you will all have constant illness.

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/04/2018 20:15

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/04/2018 20:32

Im with your son Sea
I have a special Confusedlook for people who strip off at the first rays of sun Grin
My vest is still firmly on Wink

Wolfcub · 17/04/2018 20:40

Meadow so sorry about dpiggy we used to have two hopefully you will find a suitable companion for the remaining piggy

Girlie I am so annoyed for you about the washing machine

Finally got a start date for new job yay

Dh has not been to the house so did not get the letter. I now can’t decide whether to post it or whether I’ve been too mean at points argh

ChristmasSeacow · 17/04/2018 20:44

Have a read and time it down if you think it needs it, but then send it Wolf. That’s what I’d do.

In that case Bandit I’ll put off the ceremonial shaving of my legs and big toes

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/04/2018 21:00

Oh meadow I am sorry to hear that, I dread making that decision one day for my cats.

My dd struggles with the change in season as well, it takes ages to convince her that long sleeves would be a good idea when it turns colder and then ages to convince her to ditch them for t.shirts in the spring! !

I am trying to remain philosophical about the WM, I had def had my money's worth out of it I just hope this new one is as good...

Bornlazy · 17/04/2018 21:11

I just got a free film hire credit for Amazon. It was advertised on HUKD
link for anyone who wants it

Laska5772 · 17/04/2018 21:17

meadow sorry about dpig..

DS said he thought that his interview went well, but he wont hear until Thursday though.. I have everything crossed.. his current employment contract is up in 2 weeks Sad.. hes applying for everything he can , but its so difficult ..

I'm feeling really tired this evening so early to bed for me .. I am also feeling v stressed , but obvs not as much as DS.. but I am worried..he is really very depressed at the possibility of having to go back on job seekers (its universal credit here now) .. and so am I , it means that if he has to claim then he will lose his (tiny and pretty cheap) rented flat and will only be entitled to enough for a room in a shared house (if he can find one) as he is under 35! (he is 27) ..

I also really hate this government anyway , but especially for bringing that rule in as well as and the whole Universal credit thing..fuckingIDS Its a disaster and causes no end of misery

Wolfcub · 17/04/2018 21:37

Laska that must be so stressful for you both. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for ds
Sea I think you might be right, might take another pass at page one tomorrow
Em I hope ds has a better night and that all the frugal children who are feeling poorly or tired wake feeling brighter tomorrow

ememem84 · 17/04/2018 22:15

Ds has helpfully rubbed his eyes and then managed to rub mine. Guess who’s now even more certain she’ll get gammy-eye now...

He was crying before. I saline sprayed his nose, and did his eye drops (both eyes now...) and then changed his nappy. I suspect he’s so bunged up maybe lying him down hurts? Every time I’ve changed his nappy he’s cried. Must ask if he’s done that at nursery.

It’s heartbreaking. All I want to do is cuddle him. But he isn’t cuddle. He’s happy enough. And is eating and drinking which is important and I’m not worried. But I am worried iyswim. Poor babbooooooo!!

He’s in bed. Been snoring away since about 830. Hopefully he sleeps loads. Not hoping for sleeping through but a good solid sleep will do him (and us) good

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 17/04/2018 22:20

Thanks born just got the voucher on my account. Annoyingly we hired thor ragnorak last night!! Oh well will hire the new jumanji to watch with the girls and my mum at the weekend as they are desperate to see it 😁

Today's spends £2 in co op on a reduced chicken (cooked up for lunches) and a bar of green and blacks reduced. £23 in factory shop on a mattress protector, dh socks and 2 water bottles for the girls. Plus paid swimming lessons £108.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/04/2018 22:40

Quite I haven't heard that expression in quite a while. Dd claimed to be sweating today in a light tshirt & waistcoat and queried what was wrong with me because I still had a jumper on, I didn't enlighten her to the thermal vest under jumper Grin

€4.90 on card, stamp & pack of walkers baked
€3.30 on chorizo, dc love it!

Seacow yes first niece Grin
Dd wants to wear her school shorts to school I think it's a bit early yet, plus she needs new runners which will be way more obvious with no trousers covering them

Love you need the chocolates to console yourself after that car bill

Wolf will dh seeing letter make any difference to how you feel or the situation?

Seacow at my 10k race a few weeks ago I was embarrassed that my legs weren't shaved, 2 weeks later at 10m race still unshaven, maybe I'll just get them waxed. I've got since last October I think out of this waxing!

Laska fingers and toes crossed for your ds. He's doing so much better for himself now, he could do without a setback again.

Em wishing your ds a restful sleep and my ds a dry night Grin

Swung by the cottage again tonight coming home from a meeting, I'm drawn to it plus I was wrong about no entrance from roadway too, there are two side by side 'mine' and farmers.

Cagliostro · 17/04/2018 22:56

Meadow so so sorry about your guinea pig :( horrible decision to have to make, even if it’s the right one, just heartbreaking :( 💐 I will reply to PM tomorrow x

Chessington was epic, kinda spendy, we had a planned takeaway tonight as well as I correctly predicted I’d be shattered in the evening (not as much pain as last time though, as it wasn’t cold). Such a nice day though, so many friends to snuggle the baby and I got to sneak off for vampire and dragons fury 🦇🐲 and it was really sunny for part of the day, I think Cagletini got her first ever naturally sourced vitamin D 🌞😂 it was much busier than last time but still barely any queues on any of the big stuff.

Tiiiiiired.

CremeEggThief · 17/04/2018 23:04

Glad you enjoyed Chessington, Cag.

Sorry about your guinea pig, Meadow. It's always hard to lose a pet.

Spends: £1.98 (bread, rubber gloves and custard doughnuts!)

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/04/2018 01:31

Christmas I used to do that too. Even in secondary school I went in with my shirt and jumper and a thick wool blazer on when it was 32 degrees outside. I liked the weight of it on me and felt unsafe without that. I never got hot at all, even on the day when my calculator screen shattered in the heat in my blazer pocket, so he may well be just fine in his warm clothes.

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/04/2018 01:56

Em Sorry to hear the eye trouble is grumbling on and that your little lad is having a time of it. If you bath your own eyes in an eye bath with very very dilute Johnson's baby shampoo it will see off the bacteria. It's definitely bacterial if the eye drops are working on your ds, as they wouldn't have any effect on a virus. Baby shampoo is the standard treatment for conjunctivitis in babies here. Take care there Flowers

Wolfcub · 18/04/2018 06:27

Morning all. Hope everyone has a good day £10 yesterday on dinner at the station on the way home

Mammy I think it will make me feel better as I’ve had no opportunity to say anything and my feelings are eating me alive. Also I think dh needs to realise that he’s not the only one going through some stuff and ds is having it hard and he needs to step up. Also I need to understand how we’re paying the bills next month - not sure I’ll get any answers to be honest

ememem84 · 18/04/2018 06:52

Morning.

I ended up in ds’ room with him. Decamped in there at 1. He wouldn’t settle in his cot so plopped him on the bed. He’s still asleep now. He wasn’t upset just singing. Ha!

scattyspice · 18/04/2018 07:07

Morning ☺.

Wolf not sure of the situation as new to the thread but it sounds extremely stressful and you seem to be keeping a very level head.

My dc hated changing clothes with the seasons too. I'm the opposite as can't wait to get into summer clothes.

em that's the big drawback with starting nursery early, all the infections. But it pays off when they go to school as by then they are super resistant 😊

Off work today, taking mil to supermarket etc.

Should be NSD for me.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/04/2018 07:17

Popped into Sainsbury's last night and spent £37

Nsd planned today. It's lovely out there.

QuiteCleanBandit · 18/04/2018 07:22

Aaah mammy and Sunny
I have found my people Grin
I am extremely snobby about this and things like using bath towels at the beach instead of beach towels #faints
DH and I play "men in shorts "
This involves spotting a man in shorts when its snowing or minus figures.I always win ...

mammynowanauntyIRL · 18/04/2018 09:24

wolf definitely send letter so, he has caused this situation not you, why should you be the one sorting out everything?

AdoraBell · 18/04/2018 10:19

I agree with mammy re the letter wolf

Grocery delivery yesterday was £65, but I forgot peppers and the teenagers are not impressed 😁 I’ll get some today as DH needs petrol.

Everything crossed for DS Laksa

Sorry about your ginuea pig Meadow

Frugal win, PPI cheque 😁 not thousands but enough to clear my overdraft Blush and stash a teensy bit away. I paid it straight in yesterday.

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/04/2018 11:30

I have been and bought actual cod liver oil, and also ice cube trays so I can freeze cooked kale in tiny amounts. Yikes. ('Twas £30.)
