em you lucky duck!! That's great!!

Well done wolf

I need to check the payrise small print, the RCN are asking members to ballot re whether to accept or not, they seem keen for us to accept. I'm still not convinced tbh but need to read a bit more about it.

Tired today 😧 I'm probably vit D poor as well!!

Spent £3 in tescos and £12 in aldi

WreckTangled · 21/03/2018 20:40

All unions need to agree in order for it to go ahead. I think it's easy for everyone to jump at the thought of a pay rise and not look into it properly. Very sensible girlie.

QuiteCleanBandit · 21/03/2018 20:53

What have I unleashed Confused?
He is a man possessed .
Have had pics of the monitor thingy all day 😂😂😂
Yay for Wolf and em
Hmmm this is a huge roll over by the gov-wheres the catch ?
Cynical moi ?
Also a payrise following years of way below inflation "payrises "is hardly that.
Lets see what they come out with next.

Unescorted · 21/03/2018 20:57

wolf well done.

Cag look after yourself.
Sea they will have seen worse than lightly gummed food on the floor.😁
Em lucky you!
Lonely how did you manage to do any gardening. Our soil is still so waterlogged. Not helped by the clay content.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Wolfcub · 21/03/2018 21:01

If you don't see the thread tomorrow Unescorted good luck, you are going to rock that interview

littleHen84 · 21/03/2018 21:02

Hi Snugglysnerd! Cool name, going back part time i am quite organised by nature so hoping it goes ok although am pre empting tiredness. I am sure once i have been back a day it will be like ive never been away. i am ready to have money hit my acct which is a positive for going back and i do love mt job so hoping i can dim the mum brain a tiny bit and not be worrying if hes napping/eating/ok to do it well again!

Laska5772 · 21/03/2018 21:18

unescorted Loads of good luck (I assume its the same dept?) We need good people like you!! I am still waiting to hear whether they are going to let me partially retire

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/03/2018 22:00

Yeah Quite I can't get that excited about a payrise after 7 years of sod all, I think the way it would work is a 3% rise this year, followed by 2% and then 1% in the following years which is still pretty rubbish really. The unions seem to think if we say no to this the Government will not offer more but less.... Hmm

I also reckon if my pay increases a bit I will lose the little bit of tax credits I get so I won't be any better off!!

20 miles apart Wreck? Thats rubbish, do you cover a large area? We have moved to locality working now which means a lot less millage as we stick to one area rather than seeing any patient registered at a specific G.P surgery iyswim.

Dds last day before Easter holidays tomorrow which doesn't seem possible!! That means she has done two terms of secondary already Shock

elvislives2012 · 21/03/2018 22:32

Hi! can I join? Trying to clear 8000 by xmas, 1000 done so far!
I'm a nurse too and I can't get excited by that pay rise.... am tempted to vote against if I'm honest

CremeEggThief · 21/03/2018 22:40

Best of luck, Unescorted.

Gosh, that's early, Girlie. Our schools don't break up until next Thursday!

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/03/2018 22:56

Good luck tomorrow unescorted

So nothing yet at all back about the partial retirement laska ? By the time you get an answer you will probably be ready to properly retire!

SIL is currently being induced. They started yesterday teatime and still no baby or even contractions by this evening . Feel so sorry for her! How long do they normally leave it before going to c section?

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/03/2018 22:58

Welcome elvis

ChristmasSeacow · 21/03/2018 23:19

Can be quite a while Love. They have a ladder of options and the first one is the pessary. At my trust they leave that 24 hours before even thinking about the next stage. And I’d been there 24 hours before they even bothered to put one in because ‘downstairs is busy’ Hmm. (That’s the delivery suite on the floor below btw. Not a euphemism for my undercarriage)

Well done Wolf and good luck tomorrow Unescorted .

News about DDad is terrible. Cancer is back, is everywhere and inoperable. Now waiting to see what the oncologist says about palliative treatment and how long he’s got. I knew this would be the outcome, and so did he, but I am still devastated Sad

mammymammyIRL · 21/03/2018 23:38

Oh seacow I'm so sorry to read that about your dad Thanks

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/03/2018 23:40

Oh seacow, i’m so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and love are with you, your dad and your family Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/03/2018 06:09

Sorry to hear that sea Flowers

Welcome Elvis

Wolfcub · 22/03/2018 06:14

So sorry to hear that Sea Flowers

WreckTangled · 22/03/2018 06:37

Woah girlie that is early to break up. She will have a very long summer term. Yes our team (health visitors and school nurses) cover over 300 square miles. I shit you not.

Welcome elvis!

Oh seacow I'm so sorry Sad

Unescorted good luck today!

I'm being observed today by the lead orthoptist from the hospital to see if I'm doing everything right. Should be a nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2018 06:51

Sea I’m so sorry you must be devastated Flowers

Elvis Are you claiming the correct tax allowances for washing your uniform at home? I think nurses get £6 a year for black tights too. The uniform one can be back dated. If you don’t get your rcn fees paid at work you can claim that back on tax too.

Good luck Unescorted

SunnyLikeThursday · 22/03/2018 06:54

So sorry to hear that Christmas. That must be really hard. Take care there.

Thanks for the encouragement Cag. I'm looking forward to it, I must admit.

Girlie I'm sorry to hear that pay rise is not great. I was excited for all the lovely NHS people there. Our new GP is great, and I think it's really rubbish that people can that good and not be paid well.

WreckTangled · 22/03/2018 06:59

Sunnny don't worry the doctors get paid loads Grin they're not included in the pay rise and GP's usually own their own surgeries so choose their own pay

CremeEggThief · 22/03/2018 07:00

Sorry to hear that news, Seacow. Flowers

ememem84 · 22/03/2018 07:30

Oh seacow I’m so sorry xxx

Not sure what today. Still in limbo but have sent a very strongly worded email and have connected with our lawyer on LinkedIn (so he’s seen my qualifications - hopefully he’ll take us seriously now he can see I’m also one of “them”).

Washing needs to be caught up on. As does ironing. And putting away of stuff.

Bornlazy · 22/03/2018 07:33

Seacow so sorry about your dad. Hope you get lots of support from the medical team Flowers

LonelyOversharer · 22/03/2018 08:02

seacow Flowers I'm so sorry.

em thats a good idea. He'll have to take you out of the "ditsy wifee with a baby" box.

I was a bit confused I suppose by the nhs pay increase. It was quoted on the news as 6 to 22%. I suppose thats all spin though. One guy on the radio (a newly qualified nurse) said he was looking at £800 a month extra, which he said represented a 6% rise. Even Jeremy Vine was Hmm.
