That’s a very nice moggy Fluffy.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/02/2018 18:08

Fooking world book Day. Harry potter X 2 costume. Dd now needs a cardigan. She liked things just how they are in her head. She's not getting a HP one thought they are £££. A plain grey one from a supermarket will have to do.

AdoraBell · 25/02/2018 18:09

NSD

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/02/2018 18:09

Nice pussycat.

I like horses even though I have been bitten and stood on. Dogs are still my favourite but horses and cows are second. And wild birds.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2018 18:14

My aunt got kicked in the jaw by a horse, she still has wire in her jaw and had to eat liquidised food for weeks. Didn't stop her loving her horses though Smile

Moanranger · 25/02/2018 18:24

Have not posted in awhile as had a new biz presentation on Fri, so hectic.
Frugal days- Fri - £4.25 in Caffè Nero for beans, but coffee was free, and they gave me two extra stamps on new card. £10 for blow dry, which I will put on expenses as had to NOT look like I had been dragged thru a hedge backwards.
Sat - in anticipation of grooming for DD today, fuelled car £31, but fuel was £115.9/L, so good price, then spent £1.79 at Lidl, a personal best!
NSD today - horsey event cancelled so stayed home & caught up on stuff.
This chest cold doesn’t have drag on - still nagging chesty cough today & I feel sub-par. Sunny but freezing here, too.
Frugal-on, all!

Wolfcub · 25/02/2018 19:44

The sexy Tongan fella is in the Olympic closing ceremony

MeadowHay · 25/02/2018 19:58

Fluffy Your cat is gorgeous!! We'd probs consider getting one once our guinea pigs have passed away if it weren't for DH's allergy to them. I know some people are allergic and have them anyway but DH understandably isn't up for that and I'd probs just worry about it constantly if he was.

Today was NSD again. We went to the art gallery with my DParents and DB to see an exhibition I've wanted to see since before I got pregnant and then got HG so never got around to going and it's the last few weeks of it being on. It was really good, kind of harrowing though at times. They paid for my entrance ticket and DH got in free as a student of a local uni. Then we all came back to ours and got Indian takeaway which again my DParents paid for which was kind.

Sunny I get prescription sunglasses, I go to Specsavers, they're a franchise business and I've been to at least 2 different ones and always been happy with them. I'm not sure if they'd fit the coloured lenses though if they hadn't been arranged through them iyswim. Where did you get the lenses from, couldn't they fit them for you into some glasses or at least recommend a local place that can? I'd do a google in your area of opticians that specialise in Irlens Syndrome/Photoscopic Sensitive Syndrome as some opticians do and they provide the colour-match service themselves and provide their own coloured lenses to go in the frames they sell etc. I know there was one recommended to me in my old city by the disabled students' centre at my uni but I never got around to getting any cos of my anxiety and I just make do with coloured screen tint software for my computers and then coloured overlays for reading.

I am another horse lover ever since I used to go riding when I was like 5-7ish. I always wish I had the money and energy to start again as an adult. Maybe one day. I think I've mentioned this loads of times before on this thread too! They're beautiful creatures. I am a huge animal lover in general tbh though.

mammymammyIRL · 25/02/2018 20:21

Meadow I'm actually considering trying horse riding myself with dd, at least for one session. Can adults ride ponies or are we too heavy?

SnugglySnerd · 25/02/2018 20:35

Loving the cat and baby pics.

Kallax and Trofast seem to be taking over our house! Such good storage though especially for toys.

NSD but have just done online order for big food shop.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2018 20:41

They'd work it out for you Mammy; it depends on your size. Big horses can be easier to handle than ponies though.

Do you start back at work tomorrow Snuggly?

needastrongone · 25/02/2018 20:54

Depends on the size of the rider and the build of the pony, and, to also the experience of the rider too. Dd for example would be a 'lighter ride' than a less experienced rider as she would use her seat and legs more and hardly touch the ponies mouth.

A chunky cob would be fine.

ememem84 · 25/02/2018 20:58

mammy technically I ride a pony. My instructor asked me weight and matched me up. There are 3 ponies at the stables I can ride. Do it! It’s the best thing.

Dh is Skyping mil. Yawn.

I’m conveniently waiting for a face mask to dry so can’t join the Skype call. Shame.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/02/2018 22:24

I don't know where dd gets her love of horses from as they scare me!! Talking about kids making you face your fears this is definitely an example, I will now approach a pony/horse and give them a stroke etc. Not sure I'd want to get on one though 😉

I tried to get my printer working today, put new ink , went through all the steps etc and the fucking thing still just printed blank pages 😠 so annoying. I have wasted so much money on printers over the last few years.

Have bought dd a second hand bedside table, it was £10 annoyingly it's slightly bigger than I thought so may have to resell.

AuditAngel · 25/02/2018 23:26

Ladies, I have bwenAWOL again, for that I can only apologise. My mum is in intensive Carew, andvthings are really not looking good. Please spare a thought and a prayer (if you can) for my mum, Marilyn.

Cagliostro · 25/02/2018 23:36

Oh I’m sorry audit how scary for you Thanks will keep you both in my thoughts. Xx

ChristmasSeacow · 25/02/2018 23:36

Good luck with going back to work Snuggly, are the kids going to a childminder or nursery? And how have they managed with the settling in?

I’m not a cat person I’m afraid but he’s a handsome chap Fluffy

I am irrationally anxious about parking the car well not entirely irrational because I’m not great at it with the large car we have at the mo . Worries about parking sometimes make me think twice about going places but I make myself do it. Because you have to not let the nerves win! But I understand that feeling well. I’ll happily speak in public, walk into a room of people I don’t know, whatever... but parking somewhere unknown... eek!

We’ve got Kallax things in the kids’ bedrooms already - brilliant for clothes storage and some toys, especially boxed stuff like games and puzzles. I am a Trofast virgin though. And we’d managed not to have any of it downstairs up until now (we had a 10-ft long floor-to-ceiling bookcase built along one wall of the family room when we boight this house so that holds a lot of our books anyway). But it’s not great for toy storage and is heaving so Trofast... here we come!

I shaved my legs with a random razor from my sponge bag. I don’t think it was too sharp because the skin on my legs has been really sore all day. Gah.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2018 06:14

Sorry to hear that audit. Thinking of you and your mam.

Today will be house insurance, ds is off school with cold.

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/02/2018 06:34

So sorry to hear that audit, you and your family are all in my thoughts

seacow I am rubbish at parking too. I got a bit traumatised parking when taking DD to a birthday party a while ago, now I only take her to the easy to drive to parties or DP and I have a row about it Blush

Penultimate day of commuting here! And if we really get the heavy snow which is being predicted on Wednesday, it could even be the last day. Unlikely! But 50mm of snow down south does bring everything to a standstill.

DD1 is due to go on an outside school trip on Thursday. I really hope they cancel it as it is due to be very cold and snow is even more likely then.

Today I need to stock up on cheap cards from the card shop as it will take more effort to get to this shop now.

Wolfcub · 26/02/2018 07:08

Audit, my thoughts are with you and your mum today. Her name is the same as my mum.

Taking the car in for a major service and mot in half an hour. Expensive. Didn’t sleep a wink last night and back to work today, it’ll be a struggle. I’ve triaged my emails whilst making ds breakfast but there’s plenty to do and I need to pack for being away with work for the next few days too.

Probably need to pick up some bread for ds for breakfast for the next couple of days as he’s going to school from home for a change.

Wolfcub · 26/02/2018 07:09

Love, enjoy your penultimate commute, I bet it will feel great to hit the last one and know you don’t have to do it for a few years/ever

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/02/2018 07:10

Audit I’m so sorry, you must be in hell right now Flowers

Sea He’s the best cat ever.

Superdrug’s own brand shampoo has cleaned my hair really well & not caused my hair to go all fluffy & flyaway. £1.99 for two 400ml bottles. Vegan & leaping bunny approved. The contraceptive implants made my hair oilier so my posh shampoo doesn’t suit me now. Dh has had it off me.

WreckTangled · 26/02/2018 07:23

Audit so sorry ThanksThanks

Fluffy leek and potato is a great soup. So filling and easy to make.

I'm awful at reverse parking despite having a rear camera Blush I get so flustered! Otherwise I think I'm pretty good at driving and am quite confident.

ememem84 · 26/02/2018 07:27

Oh audit sorry to hear that. Thoughts are with you and your mum. Make sure you are taken care of too xxx

fluffy what a beautiful kittycatface. Bengal?

snuggly back to work already?!

love enjoy penultimate commute

Today’s jobs:

Go to doctor - they called to let me know bloods and X-rays we’re back so can I go in to discuss. In a way I hope it’s nothing. In another I hope it’s something so I can manage the pain in my hands.

Post office - have two things to return (the red suede boots from next. They don’t fit and are shorter than I’d like. Waaaaaa! But no point keeping them) and a dress dsis asked me to return. And have some bits to pick up.

Shop - have a colleague - one of the bosses wives - coming over for coffee this afternoon. She takes a gazillion sugars in her tea/coffee and we have no sugar (also want flowers and biscuits).

Maybe pet shop for cat litter if Waitrose doesn’t sell catfaces brand.

Luckily post office Waitrose and pet shop are within walking distance of each other so I can park at Waitrose and pop ds in his pram and pootle about.
