Ha just realised I got my words muddled up in my previous post. Sometimes by fingers and thumbs do something different to my brain Grin

You could always get a second hand travel got and new mattress.

SnugglySnerd · 16/02/2018 19:18

Mothercare travel cot mattresses are cheap and fold up. Fine for occasional use.

Wolfcub · 16/02/2018 19:28

New slow cooker ordered. Removed the new kettle and toaster from the basket before placing the order. Small shops at Tesco and Sainsbury’s for bits and some cash back for a birthday gift for ds’s friend

QuiteCleanBandit · 16/02/2018 19:29

Grin mammy !
It was a millionaires shortbread thing .

It is a nice treat -the next voucher is from March-April and one for April-May .
Phew glad Im not letting the frugal side down. Im a matching sets gal and my weight is stable so I have some lovely undies .

ememem84 · 16/02/2018 19:30

cag we spent £15 on a travelcot matress from Mothercare. The lady in the shop said the £15 ones were the best.

quite I’m in the same situation as you boobies wise so spend a lot on bras. I don’t scrimp. Pretty sure my every day ones are about £40 - £50 each. I read somewhere that we should replace bras every 4 months.

I don’t do this as I can’t afford it

Cagliostro · 16/02/2018 19:39

Cool there seems to be a folding one included in the own brand cot so I think I’ll get that first, and then if it doesn’t seem padded enough I’ll get the separate mattress as well as may as well save the £15 if she’s not fussed! I’ll then need a buggy - just going to get a super cheap folding one, it’s suitable from 6m so I’ll wait a bit. Sling was absolutely fine for travelling, easier than the buggy, but if we are staying a few days I’d like the option of the buggy for while we are there and going to the park or town etc.

So in other news. This week there was only one person ahead of us on the list for a house. Fuuuuuuck. Getting very real now. From here on we are being careful about what we bid on and hopefully will be visiting areas etc as opposed to bidding on everything as we know we won’t get it. Because if you win, get offered it and then realise it is wrong and say no thanks, it’s risky (do that two or three times and you get moved down a band). There are some things we need to think about very carefully like access to public transport etc. Adaptations (wetroom and stair rail) aren’t important really, would be nice if already there but they’ll do them once we have moved in anyway. :)

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/02/2018 19:40

I'm large of Nork too. £41 a go.

Yes to extra mattress in travel cot. I had the mother care one. Try second hand listings.

Nsd today. Got fru flu. Applied for a promotion I really want so fingers crossed for next week.
Must do a meal plan. Dh went rogue this week so won't need much.

ememem84 · 16/02/2018 19:45

It’s both a blessing and a curse being large of boobie.

Dh refers to me as “boobarella”

Cagliostro · 16/02/2018 19:46

Another generously boobed frugaleer here. I need nursing bras. Not easy to find in my size. Need to go to Bravissimo I think (I hate buying clothes for myself online at the best of times so no way I’d buy a bra ‘blind’) I went in late pregnancy but only one still fits.

WreckTangled · 16/02/2018 19:48

Well now I know who got my share of boobage HmmWink

Poor dd is not happy trying to sleep with her splints on. I do feel for her but can't be doing with her woe is me attitude right now.

Cagliostro · 16/02/2018 19:53

Ah frustrating wreck (the splints not the boobs) I was fielding epic anxiety from DD last night and despite understanding it was very hard work.

FFS I don’t think the freezer is cold enough, everything bready and the ice cream seem a bit squidgy. Soup is still frozen solid though. Don’t get why that happens sometimes

Taytocrisps · 16/02/2018 20:14

Evening everyone. I've been on a training course for the past two days and my brain is fried. It involved a lot of listening and concentrating. I hate working in a different building because I've a terrible sense of direction and always end up walking into a broom cupboard instead of the ladies toilets. Or turning left at the top of the stairs instead of right. The course director asked for volunteers to give presentations at various points, but I managed to evade this. I hate public speaking and it wasn't a public speaking course.

The course cost me a bit because I had to pay train fares to get there. But on a positive note, there was lots of free coffee and biscuits. Yesterdays's lunch was sandwiches and some rather scrumptious pastries. Today we got a hot dinner carvery style. There wasn't much of a selection though - it was steak and mash or a chickpea stew.

I've just sent DH to the shops for a badly needed bottle of wine although I'll go easy because I'm doing some overtime again tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone is keeping well. I'll have a quick read back but probably won't catch up properly until tomorrow.

mammymammyIRL · 16/02/2018 20:15

Quite a few items not available on my online delivery but forgot to check no substitutes on coffee and ended up with one costing €4.95 instead of €1.50 still own brand. It was late too but I guess frantic Friday is to blame for that. 6 out of stocks but only one that really matters. €90.39 vs €99.15 Grin

Soup freezes more solidly cag because of high water content

Ooh house is so close Grin

Lifelong best of Luck
Quite in ROI there's no John Lewis or free cake Sad I may attend a birthday party tomo night, I might not be staying long enough to get cake 🍰
Wolf well done on removing unnecessary items from basket

I have made a chicken coop! It was dark when I finished, we have a builders floodlight, so I used that. They have a nest box and perch, and 1/2 my girls are out of the mud! We have 2 flocks as we have some ex bats and they are bullies. Will put 'our' home bread chickens with the others tomorrow, and then the 3 ex bats can share the chick pen I made in the summer.

The coop will also make an excellent raised bed later in the year! Bonus.

I always had big boobs, at least an E cup. Losing a lot of weight and 6 years of breast feeding and I'm stabilised at a 32D. That'ull do me. Easy to buy, but must be careful with style, unpadded full cup bancony bras only. I fall out of anything with a pretty but low front. old lady boobs

Swapped dd2 for dd3 with my mum, and spent £10 needlessly in the co-op on biscuits and lollies.

SnugglySnerd · 16/02/2018 20:32

Finally an advantage of having a fairly flat chest - I can buy cheap bras!

mammymammyIRL · 16/02/2018 20:40

I'm 34D/34DD/36C depending on brand, I can't wear the balconette(sp) style bras at all, weird shape boobs won't fill them Shock

Just double checked coffee & it's Nescafé very similar jar dh & au pair better enjoy it it's back to own brand next week Grin

Grooming again for DD today, so took flask & sarnies, but ran out of coffee waiting for dressage results, bought horribly overpriced £2.50Americans ( at a horsey event? It’s always instant, but this place was in posh Surrey) Then results out right after, so I shouldn’t have bothered.
This thread has made me hyper-aware of spending and way more careful, so thanks, one and all.
Rest of spend was £33 in Superdrug, but stocked up on long-term items, and a 3for£10 fish deal at M &S. Also topped up diesel as £1.18 per L at Sainsbury’s-£16.
We away in Norfolk for weekend, but subsidised by DP’s work & I can expense the rest, so a brief holiday on the cheap. Cold weather gear is packed, we will bird watch, mostly.

QuiteCleanBandit · 16/02/2018 21:02

Im a 32 FF Blush on a smallish frame

My favs are Panache (love the way the straps are set) Freya and Wacoal .
4 months !Shock em thats insane !
Or to sell more bras .
I probably have at least 12 sets Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/02/2018 21:47

Another late check in, been painting all day but have nearly finished and am so pleased as it looks amazing! ! 😍 Have transformed her tatty second hand furniture into v cool and tasteful coordinated furniture which feels frugal.

Spent £9 in coop on a few bits.

Work tomos 😞

MeadowHay · 16/02/2018 22:33

I'm normally a 30DD which can be hard to find and expensive so I pretty much exclusively buy bras in the sales from John Lewis/Debenhams/Boux Avenue/Figleaves. However now I'm a 30E due to the pregnancy and my large nipples/areolas have got even bigger so I couldn't find any bras in the sales that fitted Sad. So I had to shell out on three full-price bras and a sports bra recently which cost me about £100 Shock. Painful. And to think I will need nursing bras in a few months and my size will probably change again!! It's so expensive.

Spends today was like £8 on Chinese buffet thing for me and DH at work for Chinese New Year and a big cream scone for DH too. Was yum.

Lonely The chicken set up sounds fab! We'd love some in theory if we had enough outdoor space but can't see that happening for quite some years tbh.

Tayto I empathise with the bad direction thing, mine is awful as part of my Asperger's and I get mad anxiety going anywhere new partly because I know I will get lost and confused all the time. It's horrible.

Life Eek got my fingers crossed for you re: the promotion!

ememem84 · 16/02/2018 22:50

34E here. E for enormous.

My days of plunge front bras are mostly unless a lot of double sided tape and hairspray are involved are gone. I tend to favour the balcony polite lingerie term for scaffolding bras. Keeps the twins up and proud! Haha! (.)(.)

I remember being 19 and fabulous. And working the bar in a gentlemens establishment club in Southampton. Ah to be young and to have perfect boobies and no cares which earned me a hell of a lot of tips. Those were the days. Haha!

mammymammyIRL · 17/02/2018 08:00

Morning all
My dc are still in bed amazingly GrinGrin so I'm catching up on Emmerdale as I've been awake since 6.30am

Hope everyone has a great Saturday

SnugglySnerd · 17/02/2018 08:08

Balconette bras don't fit me either. I'm a 32D which sounds quite big but I wouldn't describe myself as well endowed in that department. I always wear t shirt bras. Debenhams do quite cheap ones. I almost bought one in Sainsbury's the other day to try but changed my mind.

I'll need to pay for parking today as meeting a friend for coffee but I have a free voucher for coffee and cake in John Lewis.

WreckTangled · 17/02/2018 08:14

I wear a 30C and always buy from Debenhams.

I'm going to a friends tonight, there's be a few of us, for tapas and drinks but I'll have to drive. It's about two miles away but a taxi would be about £25 as they would charge from the town they have to come from.
