Oh I forgot petrol Blush

MessySurfaces · 22/01/2018 22:28

@AdoraBell win Re champagne funded by nectar points!!

AdoraBell · 22/01/2018 22:40

Thanks messy, I asked in store because I know you don’t get points on booze. You can, however, use points to buy wine. Nothing stronger though.

Well done sticking to your list Faith, especially while you were hungry.

I keep looking at the money on offer for switching accounts...£150 for HSBC and £125 with NatWest....

I have two accounts I don’t use... if I put two direct debits in each then I could use them - then open two new accounts and have money ping pong between them to qualify

£275 for changing a bit around

I got my payslip today and saw it as a challenge!
I can do this! Although planning a wedding at the same time means savings are going in little envelopes for wedding things.

Majuna · 23/01/2018 04:02

Im going to start on 1st February.

ivykaty44 · 23/01/2018 07:40

Majuna- start now and get some practice in 😂

I get paid tomorrow woop ! But need to identify essentials and then no spend after that . I don't need anything but DCs need underwear , classes paid etc .. NSD day yesterday and today should be ! My DH is rubbish though he carries on spending on bits that all add up !!

drspouse · 23/01/2018 13:56

Holiday deposit (and lunch because I forgot mine Blush)

AdoraBell · 23/01/2018 13:58

NSD, DH has been out to get the dog food so I have avoided the shops 😁

Majuna · 23/01/2018 14:20

I just bought 2 hairbands for DD that I didnt need to get. It was £2 but still.

Im going to be so shit at this Confused

ivykaty44 · 23/01/2018 15:03

I made money today Smile sold some stuff on a Facebook group! Spent on groceries and some stickers for DD’s reward chart so pretty much on track.

FaithEverPresent · 23/01/2018 18:14

Majuna I spent a fair bit in the few days before I started properly! At least you’re consciously spending now.

madamefraser · 23/01/2018 18:27

69p on a bag of minstrels they were an essential ! Smileget paid tomorrow so need to work out essential spends . Kids have already asked for pizza ...

Littlechocola · 24/01/2018 00:49

Fail!!! Despite having a full lunch box at work I purchased and ate another lunch! I may have worms which excuses the spend. It’s medical.

mamapants · 24/01/2018 08:07

Oops chocola sometimes you need a little treat though.

Think I'm paid today so I feel its a real chance to make some headway, not starting on the overdraft, no Xmas spending coming out of the account, a real chance to make some savings.
Unfortunately have two big costs, DSs party and car needs in garage (didn't book it in last month as didn't have the money). Hoping that the council tax break will Balance that a bit.
Got my random extra house insurance refunded luckily. And should be getting a refund for my phone signal not working for passed month- but not sure how easy that is to sort. I've never asked for a refund because of it before but I guess it is only fair.

ivykaty44 · 24/01/2018 13:52

I have a £50 car fund account and £50 goes into the account for MOT and any mechanical issues. I have £47.50 written into my budget account for insurance and VED payment

NSD here... except for the huge vet bill which just came in! Ah well :) it was expected and at least I have more savings to put towards it.

I like the concept of conscious spending - this thread really helps remind me to think about it in this way.

Littlechocola · 24/01/2018 16:26

Same Gah. I’m really thinking about what I spend and how I spend. PayPal makes spending too easy. It’s nice to look at pretty things but satisfying to not buy.

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 24/01/2018 17:52

Today and yesterday are NSD 😀 tomorrow is payday so back to the start tracking. Couldn't post yesterday daughter was sent from school to A&E but she is okay so today has been a blissfully normal day, can't wait ti so it all again for February👍🏼

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 24/01/2018 17:56

Messy- the 16p is,savings carried over to feb😀 that's got to be a first! I usually run out of money by week 3, look at the effect everyone on this lovely thread is having on my life....

FaithEverPresent · 24/01/2018 22:02

NSD for me today! I definitely think it’ll help to be back at work. I can’t believe the difference a month of conscious spending has made! I’ve saved £50 of my ‘play money’ into a separate savings account and we have household money left (even after DH decided to treat us to a Sunrise alarm clock!

Polly glad she’s okay!

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 24/01/2018 22:06

Thanks faith, me too. It was such a bad day yesterday i am Just happy for a nice calm day todayWink

ivykaty44 · 24/01/2018 22:10

Nearly a NSD as I spent 99p on an app

I did a top up shop of things we’d run out of last night but they were essential- loo roll and washing powder, along with drain unblocker sachet latte for work - which are saving me loads on coffee stop shops & a tub of hot chocolate

Only a week to go...
