Em contraception is limited when you’re bf.* no combined pill, injection and not sure what else actually Hmm I had my period at my six week check with dd.*

Five hour round trip today to the hospital including actual visit, I’m tired now.**

I don't think it's period we have on the pill, it's a breakthrough bleed. My dr said that's why the implants not popular, people find a period reassuring.

You could ask how they feel about you running 3 packs back to back. I used to do that.

One of my old colleagues was on the coil with progesterone for years before she had it whipped out after her wedding. I never fancied that. I can barely drive into the car park without being put up on a couch these days I didn't want to give them another reason.

Cagliostro · 01/11/2017 16:05

Hope DD's appts went well.

Yep I definitely had an internal at the check after DD, but then she also made me have my first smear test (I was only 20 so hadn't had a routine one). Can't for the life of me remember if I had an internal after DS.

LonelyOversharer · 01/11/2017 16:12

I recommend the mirena coil. Fab thing. Pretty much stopped me bleeding, and no volatile moods. Hormones make me crazy. Never had stitches or insidey bits checked at 6 weeks.

Between two lots of parents evenings at the mo...

SnugglySnerd · 01/11/2017 16:26

Do you not have periods with the implant then? That would save money on pads etc!
I'm too disorganised to get it redone every 3 months though.

WreckTangled · 01/11/2017 16:37

Implant is in for three years depo injection is every 12 weeks. I got pregnant with the mirena in and I’m not allowed to take the combined pill as I get migraines.

Strange they have you a smear cag as usually you have to wait four months as too many come back abnormal so soon after childbirth. In countries like Japan it’s routine to have them at postnatal checks though.

I never had stitches etc checked at either 6 week appointment although they did half heartedly offer.

Making some progress on my change of hours. Surprising how an email worded nicely how it’s now some considerable time since I applied, copying in HR, gets things moving Grin I still want to reduce hours even if DC3 becomes a possibility as the travel will be awful and I think it’ll help improve my mental health/stress levels etc

Your mum sounds like such a gem em and yay to getting back in the saddle (the horsey one!)

Hi holly

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/11/2017 16:47

Sounds like you made the best decision with the shop lonely . But does sound like a hard decision. You’ll now have expert ebayer to add to your skill set

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/11/2017 16:49

I haven't bought San pro since July. I have a selection of super heavy plus tampons but I've opened the packs so I don't suppose the food bank will want them. Seems a waste to throw them out.

The injection is done in your bum so it must be oestrogen based. I didn't fancy a needle in my bum.

There's one third off selected Talisker malt whisky on Amazon.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/11/2017 16:58

My train has ground to a halt due to trespassers on the line. Some people are stupid and inconsiderate idiots!

WreckTangled · 01/11/2017 17:40

Love that’s so annoying Angry wankers.**

I think the injection is progesterone only.* I had great success with it pre dc but not post.*

FRUGALEER ADVICE NEEDED

If you had around £2.5k debt and we’re about to come into about* £3k would you pay off the debt or go on the once in a lifetime holiday that can only be booked and paid for very soon. No option to do it next year once credit card paid off etc.*

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/11/2017 17:40

Oh ffs I’m going to stop adding any bold into my posts until the fix this issue

OP posts:
mammymammyIRL · 01/11/2017 17:48

Only read last two posts by wreck - what cost is the holiday? Could you split the £3k? Will the dc remember it?

WreckTangled · 01/11/2017 17:52

The holiday is £3200 Blush yes I really hope so I remember holidays from the age ds will be

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 01/11/2017 18:01

Id pay the debt.

Debts a millstone.

CurlsandCurves · 01/11/2017 18:07

@Love so annoying! I used to work for a rail company on board and behind the scenes so I know how frustrating it is.

Went to our local outlet village in search of new bras as 2 of mine have given up on me at once. None in my size in the M&S outlet, but I did get some gorgeous Christmas cards on 3 for 2 and some nice hand wash and hand cream sets for DS2s teachers for Christmas, £5 down to £3.50.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/11/2017 18:08

Can you afford:
Passports
Spending money
Clothes etc
The £200 not covered in the 3k

I’m kind of with fluffy on this one but coukdn’t promise I would follow my own advice if that helps

Now on my last leg of the train journey. Home an hour late

Cagliostro · 01/11/2017 18:13

Yes I heard that too about a smear being pointless, dr was horrible TBH I was struggling with the procedure and she had a go at me saying I had just given birth so why would I have a problem with it Hmm errr because it's a bit different having metal implements shoved up there maybe? Hmm

I have no idea re holiday v debt. I would probably take the less sensible option Blush

WreckTangled · 01/11/2017 18:20

Got passports. Other bits not an issue.

My sensible head is saying pay off the debt but.....

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/11/2017 18:25

I think I would compromise and pay some of the debt off(at least a grand) and still have a nice but not ridiculously pricey holiday iyswim.

I really struggle with contraception as anything hormonal either gives me migraines or makes me feel sick. I had the injection once and bled solidly for about 2 months Shock was horrendous. Staying celibate is my best form of contraception Wink

Dd went back to school today and seems fine so thats good, I went back to work and was also fine so yay for that.

You scientific frugaleers (sunny and cag) dd has to make a 3d model of a plant or animal cell!! Any ideas?!

Cag that was exactly it re the trick or treaters ystd, was my fault though as needed to be supervising more closely. There are some unfortunately greedy/ungrateful kids out there.

NSD.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/11/2017 18:34

Girlie is she meant to show the organelles inside? Can you make it out of any material you like?

HollyTheHarrier · 01/11/2017 18:54

Hello bacon 😊

Seacow sorry you're struggling with plantar fasciitis. I had that a couple of years ago - so painful. Do you have stretches to do to try to resolve it?

I've decided to set myself a budget of £150 per month on clothes. It sounds a lot but we'll see how it goes. I have spent £50 so far this month (payday to payday - not calendar month) on pyjamas and slippers.

Week has otherwise been pretty frugal - have had packed lunch every day. Although today I was starving so had to buy extra food. Tomorrow we have a team lunch due to a new joiner.

Frugal goals this week:

  • not waste any of the food supplies I have in (leftover from having guests at weekend)
  • look into savings accounts with decent interest rates

In less frugal activities, I also want to look into joining a gym and get a carpenter/plasterer/heating engineer round to sort various things.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/11/2017 19:34

Yes Christmas although obviously within reason re the materials!!

Laska5772 · 01/11/2017 19:42

wreck I would pay off the debt.. it was such a brilliant feeling once I had paid off my £3k credit card that I turned up here with.. Ive never gone back into debt and now I save! (and now spend on nice things from my savings) .

I had Depo inplants and sadly put on 2 stone in three months.. then it took several years to lose it and I never really did off my boobs ( which are quite frankly a fxxxxin pain , I cant get tops or jackets to fit even in so-called 'XL' in many things . So depressing

mammymammyIRL · 01/11/2017 19:51

Could you save the remaining £1700 in the time between this & going on holiday if you used half of £3k to repay debt?
