Have just had a word but he just did the laaaazy roll and offered me his tummy 😂

WreckTangled · 17/10/2017 20:01

Ah lonely I’m sure she does! Will get a pic somewhen...

Pink he’s a rescue cat apparently a birman but the vet reckons he has some Maine coon in him.

Snuggly poor you it can make you feel really crap when you can’t find clothes you feel confident in. Stomach muscle separation sounds probable. Mine are still separated a bit but not too bad. I can put my fingers though the middle though. To be fair you did have two babies in there.

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 20:06

Em clearly I have birthweight on the brain so forgive me for going on, but if Catface is 5kg she's less than DS weighed when he was born Blush :o

I looked in Asda at smaller size baby vests but they just seemed SO tiny. Up to 6lb I think. Possibly too small as the scans clearly can be wrong! I think what I'll do is go through all the stuff we already have and put it in size order. Different shops have totally different cut offs so maybe we won't need any dammit

Aww snuggly I'm sorry you didn't have a successful shopping trip :( I know it doesn't help but you did make beautiful twins and that must have changed your shape, they are still very young and I'm sure you will get back to how things were Thanks

ChristmasSeacow · 17/10/2017 20:10

I love that Lonely Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 17/10/2017 20:16

Cag there are some mamas and papas vests in the stuff I sent you and they come up very small ime - DD only just fitted in at her birthweight of 8lb 4.

I do like Bake Off night but I am dying to go to bed. Still roasting a chicken but off to sleep as soon as dinner is done!

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 20:22

With nappies I bought a regular pack of size 1 (size 0 too small) and a big pack of size 2. Lots of overlap there so should be fine and if she is very little then we can just get more size 1. God it felt weird buying nappies!!! DS refused to touch the packet when we were packing up the shopping :o

I didn't get a chance to pick up our prescriptions so I will need to nip out tomorrow or I'll run out of TEST strips. Will also get cotton wool balls and maternity pads #glam

I have been given the go ahead to start expressing colostrum as I hoped (think it was wreck who mentioned it yesterday which reminded me to ask Thanks). I don't expect anything will be there yet though :( but will try. I only leaked a tiny bit after my due date with DS.

Getting ready for the bed which should be here by 9.30am! Then our little relative is arriving around lunchtime as apparently they need to drop him off 3hrs earlier than first agreed. Not ideal given how much needs doing but will make the best of it.

Used up some freezer stuff today, thankfully nothing in there was worth claiming for as it was mostly the dregs of crap food TBH! So very low value. But I did use the last batch of cheese sauce with cauliflower/broccoli for dinner. Damn I make a good bechamel if I say so myself :o

I am happy because I found my favourite cottage cheese - actually the only one that is truly nice - in Asda. Longley farm full fat with chives. Can't get it from Tesco. Yesssss jacket spuds for me thank you. So good. Other cottage cheese is pants in comparison.

Still need to order Tesco. What the hell does one order when you are likely to be 1. Not really up to cooking in the next few days, 2. Low carbing, 3. Possibly having parents staying to babysit who will quite likely forget to feed the DCs, 4. Maybe needing to take stuff to hospital?! Aaargh!

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 20:24

Test wasn't supposed to be in capitals in some kind of weird attempt to emphasise it. Autocorrect is weird.

Thanks seacow! :)

AdoraBell · 17/10/2017 20:30

Not sure if I’ve posted since new thread was started Confused

Rather large grocery delivery today, £95-ish.

WreckTangled · 17/10/2017 20:31

Hmm cag lots of non perishables and oven food. Part baked bread for the parents to have. Fresh soup for you. Easy snacks like cereal bars etc. I would just go with loads of easy stuff!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/10/2017 21:08

Evening all,

Its on my to do list Fluffy to ring TC, may have a google later as well.

8kg Wreck Shock I'm sure your cat is part lion Grin

I'm knackered, I was boss lady at work today then home and straight back out to take dd to her drama club.

NSD

Am watching the Chris Packam programme..

Laska5772 · 17/10/2017 21:24

Amazon are doing a promotion on Gift cards.. buy one for £30 get £6 credited on your account.. I've sent one to myself!!..

ememem84 · 17/10/2017 21:37

And I’m in bed.

cag yep. Catface is just under 5kg. She weighs the same as my nephew when he was born 3 months ago (10lb 10). She is heavier than ds. Ds is in his Moses basket in the living room. Dh in the spare room. I’m in bed. Dh is just pottering about the flat so it’s not as though we’ve left ds alone. Catface just came in to the bedroom and meowed. And meowed. And meowed. And kept walking off. And coming back. Turns out she wanted me to follow her back to ds. He’d knocked his dummy out. And was stirring. That’s true catlove.

thewaitresses · 17/10/2017 22:04

Cag how about an omelette?! Easy prep/cook, low carb and can be eaten cold/on the run etc.

Snuggly I feel your pain. I find that very high waisted, tight fitting jeans help suck everything in (mine are from Asda - shape and stretch? something like that) but I also still wear my maternity shirts over leggings much more than I should!

4hr car journey today. Spent £5 on emergency McDs and the £2 on emergency baby wipes when DD puked it all up again ☹️

ChristmasSeacow · 17/10/2017 22:28

What did you think of it Girlie? I've had to Sky+ it because I've literally only just got DD down and now must race to bed before her next feed! Hope to watch it tomorrow

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/10/2017 07:38

TBH you never see a svelte tabby. They are designed to survive a famine.

I've opened a Halifax reward account, if I swap the joint account to it we get £3 a month cashback & they do 10% off Waitrose/morrisons every so often so it makes sense.

I won't get the switch fee because I've already had one.

You have to make an appointment to get Dh added on so they can do the switch from the current joint account. He will be THRILLED to have to go into town on a Saturday to sit in a bank. I will be so popular tonight.

Interest rates set to go up, Carneys been itching to put them up.

Cagliostro · 18/10/2017 07:38

Woohoo our new bed is here! It's huge :o

ChristmasSeacow · 18/10/2017 07:40

That must feel good after just a mattress! Love a big bed

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/10/2017 08:01

Wow early delivery cag but glad it arrived so you can get it sorted before your little nephew visits today. Hope you get a better night’s sleep tonight!

DP got up at 3am and woke me up. He is in the doghouse. £2.65 on a hot chocolate but that was required as feeling absolutely knackered (and grumpy)

Cagliostro · 18/10/2017 08:04

Thanks for food suggestions. Haven't had an omelette for ages which is weird as I have scrambled/fried/boiled eggs all the time. I do draw the line at cold omelette though, cold eggs are wrong other than hard boiled and in cake obviously

Anyway I spoke to mum and she has taken an extra day off so she is coming up from next Tuesday to stay. I'll get the next shop then (it's our usual shopping day anyway I'm a day late this week). She said it's probably better if dad doesn't come and sadly I agree :( it would be even more stressful TBH. Incidentally my dad is a prime example of why diagnosis of ASD at a younger age is much better - Dad is 'too old to bother diagnosing' according to his doctor but really struggles to function. Earlier help could have made so much difference.

DH is manoeuvring the mattress up the stairs and I am being very helpful by saying "PIVOT" Wink

WreckTangled · 18/10/2017 08:40

Woo hoo cag!

£27 Sainsbury’s toy sale
£20 fuel
£2.87 macdonalds Blush

ememem84 · 18/10/2017 08:50

Woohoo cag I’ll admit in my sleep deprived state I saw the words “early delivery” and got excited that cagletini had arrived...must learn to read more good.

Cagliostro · 18/10/2017 08:51

I thought that too em which is a worry really as you'd think I would know 😂😂😂

ememem84 · 18/10/2017 08:58

Good news re the bed though! That’ll make sure a difference for you. Yay!

Haha “PiVOT” hahahahaha!

I have just woken up. I went to bed last night at 9. Sleep at about 10 ish. Up at 1230 with ds and then probably had about an hours sleep at 330. He just wouldn’t settle back down. At 545 I threw in the towel had a cry and went to wake up dh and handed ds over. Dh has meetings all day today which he was prepping for yesterday. So I felt guilty waking him up. But needs must. He’s also been sleeping in the spare room as it means he can get a decent undisturbed sleep.

We switched rooms. I shut the door and slept from 6 to just now. He’s gone to work. Left ds (asleep!!!) in the living room in his Moses basket and a cup of tea on the nightstand (in a thermos so it stays warm!). I feel bad because at stupid o clock this morning I hated ds. Just for a second and that’s when I cried.

Luckily we have zero plans today other than staying indoors. Monday night was tough too. So I was knackered yesterday. Resting is the name of the game today. I don’t feel capable of driving anywhere (have that jet lag tired feeling Eugh) so no big adventures for us.

LonelyOversharer · 18/10/2017 09:09

Babies are both a joy and a frustration em crying is allowed, and vital ime. Just take it dead easy today. Just wait until he smiles at you, everything is forgiven then.

Got up at 6 to work, I've been lazy and got behind. Need to shop today (catfood, milk), but it is a calm, sunny day and my bike is calling me.

mammymammyIRL · 18/10/2017 09:17

em finally you sound like a normal new mum instead of a new supermum Grin especially love I must learn to read more good Grin

Just spend today cuddling ds and realising that you just did a monumental thing giving birth, and need to recover.
