Seacow your DS sounds so sweet. I hope the PE kit went down ok! It must be hard to transition between the two outfits.

Getting picked up for a day at the play farm - wouldn't be going but it's sort of a party paid for already. DH off tomorrow so will try and sort house stuff then with Caglets helping. Need to get all the stuff picked up for the tip after that I think.

Going to email the DLA help person now. Strike while the iron is hot etc.

ememem84 · 13/10/2017 09:57

Today is likely to be spendy. I am going shopping. Hoorah! For new clothes. Yay! With vouchers so technically free! Yay!

Ds woke at 2 and again at 530 for feeds. Dh slept which means he’s good now to take him while I’m out. Ds has been grouchy all morning so far. Dh has asked whether this is normal for him. Yep. Good luck with that once I’m out...!

Must also buy nappies and baby nail clippers.

seacow I hope things improve with dd re sleeping.

Cagliostro · 13/10/2017 09:59

Yay em enjoy!

I'm quite tempted to ask for vouchers for my birthday (early December) as I will need clothes too. Although I slightly resent it as I hate clothes shopping 😂😳 but it's necessary and will mean I can buy some nice things 😊

mammymammyIRL · 13/10/2017 10:24

em dh hasn't never clipped dc nails - they're 7 and almost 4. I only found out 6 months ago when I said how long has it been since ds's nails were clipped, I haven't done them in ages, to which he replied, I've never done them and won't Hmm
Enjoy your day out shopping em just be aware that you may leak or need to express a bit for relief while out and about just because your ds normally feeds at a certain time or when you see something that makes you think of him.

ememem84 · 13/10/2017 10:43

cag do it. I never usually ask for gifts. But this year I needed new clothes. So asked. And everyone obliged. I think I have close to £400 worth of vouchers for various shops.

Have just had the longest shower since ds was born. 25 minutes. Having dh home is nice. Grin

ememem84 · 13/10/2017 10:44

mammy I’ve put spare pads in my bag...

I’m only planning to be out for a couple of hours so should be ok. He’s just been fed (before my shower) so should (in theory) be ok until around 2/230. This has been the pattern for the last week or so.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2017 10:57

You can opt out of that Royal Mail junk mail, it's called unaddressed mail. I call it legalised putting shit you don't want through your door.

Google "unaddressed Royal Mail opt out form". You have to post it to them but thanks to paperless billing we get little post now. It saves trees in the long run.

Top up shop done.

£13 Aldi
£10 sains, put through in 4 transactions to complete my 8 swipes wins 100 points.
£10 petrol.
£2 morrisons
£2 home bargains on a garlic press.

Cagliostro · 13/10/2017 10:57

YY to the leaking. Take spare breast pads!

I'm not really sure what to look for clothes wise as I hope that by continuing on the lower carb I will carry on losing weight and dropping sizes gradually. But will definitely need something - my favourite (stretchy) jeans pre pregnancy still fit despite massive bump, and the trousers I got (just bigger sizes rather than maternity) are still quite big. So once my womb has contracted back oh dear god the afterpains I swear it was worse than labour last time they will be way too big (YAY!). I am not, though, to quote Ross Geller "a fashion...monger" so I'll be floundering somewhat.

Emailed the benefits advisor to ask for an appointment. DH actually offered to do the form himself this morning - he was looking through it and commenting on some of the questions and I just said you know what I'm not capable of thinking about this right now 😳😳. He actually looked quite shocked when I said that he wouldn't see half of what I do. Not his fault AT ALL, just the fact that he is at work when we are out doing stuff where the Caglets are more likely to struggle.

Also messaged the man with van about collecting some stuff for the tip next week - think we will do the beds tomorrow. Powering through 👊

ChristmasSeacow · 13/10/2017 11:46

Thanks for the sympathy re. DD's sleep. She's not usually so bad at night, it's just the jabs. Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon.

Are we still friends Snuggly?!

Go go Cag! (And Em with the shopping, though I suspect encouragement is not really necessary there Grin)

The PE kit did not happen. Ds got v upset and we are not in the mood for confrontation today!

Spendy day - just topped up for milk, fruit etc and coop Black Forest teacakes again . Need £40 Ish to cover the babysitter tonight (first time we have paid someone, we've only left DS with family before, eek) and £10 each entry to PTA curry and quiz night (it's all rock n roll here). And the Ocado delivery tomorrow is looking expensive as we have a houseguest this weekend and also need lots of nappies, tissues etc. And I'm planning to do a bit of batch cooking too.

But it's Friday!!!

mammymammyIRL · 13/10/2017 12:13

seacow wow babysitter - will ds be asleep? Brilliant progress
We're going to cinema to see Mountain Between Us tomo night - got 10% discount with myomniplex and 10% cashback with my bank rewards! €16.04 vs €19.90 won't buy much popcorn but it definitely makes me Smile

SnugglySnerd · 13/10/2017 12:37

Course we are Christmas us sleep-deprived mums need to stick together!

Thanks for the info about junk mail fluffy I'll look into that.

They are napping again. Let's hope they manage more than 30 mins this time.

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/10/2017 12:52

I meant to ask seacow if DS was wearing his uniform? I know you were expecting battle. If i’d had your lack of sleep, i wouldn’t battle the pe clothes instead! Hope you manage a nap today BrewCake

Hope you have a good shopping time em

So DD2 got up at 4.30, had a nappy change and went back to bed. Fine all morning, drop her at my parents and she is sick! And then again in the car home Sad

My new bin arrived but the lid doesn’t work. It was an Amazon warehouse so repackaged but I have emailed as you should at least expect it to work! I expect I will get a refund not a replacement but thought i’d try as it was a good price

When DD2 nods off, I need to contact Nectar as my 2000 bonus points from Sunday haven’t credited.

On a roll with the complaining at the moment! Blush

LonelyOversharer · 13/10/2017 12:54

Did a pointless bimble around Tescos and spent £86. Ffs. I was hungry and everything was just so shiny and enticing. I did get the about 6 things on my list too. Got a couple of stocking fillers as well.

Also ferret food.

Can I ask, would it be better to sell stuff on ebay, or on facebook these days? We have a lot of brand new old stock at the shop, and I need to see if I can sell it. But I need to reach the largest audience I can, as some of it is quite specialist. I gave up on ebay some time ago, and struggle to navigate facebook, so it's going to be a pita either way!

LonelyOversharer · 13/10/2017 12:57

Even if it was a good price love it still has to work. Your poor dd2 she's not been quite well for a while, sleep and cbeebies will help. I hate these roaming viruses that present differently depending on the day.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2017 12:58

Nothing wrong with complaining.

Did anyone watch eat well for less? £12k a year on food Shock

SnugglySnerd · 13/10/2017 13:33

Yes fluffy. I watched it. I'm worried that when we have 3 teenagers our bill will be like that. I hope you are all still keeping me on the straight and narrow then!

OP posts:
Loveabaconsandwich · 13/10/2017 14:05

Amazon have offered me £25 refund if I keep the bin. It may just need a new catch as it appeared to have nothing to make it close. You can buy off eBay for £3 but will get DP to use his engineering masters (ha!) to work out how/if it can be fixed before I respond to amazon. Or I can return it but they can’t replace it as a warehouse deal Hmm

Nectar say the bonus points from swipe and win should be credited by Monday. But they did credit my missing bonus for buying petrol points Smile

ememem84 · 13/10/2017 15:23

Back from town. The boss paid for lunch.

I bought: 2 pairs of skinny jeans from M&S (black and blue) and two pyjama tops - total £51 but had £45 vouchers so spends £6.

A grey skinny knit jumper from warehouse £45 (vouchers for dept store)

Wine red bird print blouse from oasis £36 (voucher for dept store).

Toyed with a new handbag from joules. Slouchy tan leather. Lovely. But will have a think and may go back for it next week.

Nappies, baby care kit (hair brush thermometer nail clippers) photo frame and photos printed in boots. Voucher used.

Annoyingly when I have money to spend there’s hardly anything out there that I want. Haha!

I had the worlds biggest coffee with my lunch (Cajun chicken salad. Mmm) and now feel a bit wired. Haha

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2017 15:24

You can buy a huge stock pot & do a production line with your three helpers Snuggly

Let's hope he can fix it Bacon, £3 for a bin would be a bargain.

ememem84 · 13/10/2017 15:26

I watched EWFL. Love that show. I’d be interested to work out how much we spend a year on food. Maybe I’ll look back and check when I have a spare moment

WreckTangled · 13/10/2017 15:34

£2 something parking
£4 something Waitrose on milk, a giant samosa for lunch, spaghetti hoops and waffles
Free eye test but I need new glasses. £224 in store so I'll get them online for £123.

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/10/2017 15:44

Bin was £70 fluffy but was meant to be £95 if pristine. I expected a few scratches as was listed as used very good. It’s a 60l brabantia bin so if we just need a couple of parts then £50ish when fixed is a bargain!

DD2 woke up and managed to be ill down the inside of the sofa Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2017 15:53

Oh I see, Brabantia lids break frequently. If you contact them they might send you a free lid.

A relative of mine had several lids for her bin.

Dh is washing a leather jacket to shrink it. I've told him if it shrinks too much I'm willing to take it off his hands.

Lonely Get the kids to put it on Facebook.

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/10/2017 15:57

Oh yes the bins do have a 10 year guarantee. Must read the small print...

LonelyOversharer · 13/10/2017 16:27

So far in my "stock taking" I've done gloves, jackets and bottoms, it retails at about 3k so far, if I could even get half that...

I recon we might have about 20k stock. Titanium seat post anyone? No? I'm never going to get it all sold am I. I only kept track for the first year or so. How not to run a business!

The lid to my bribantia bin is outside the front door. Has been for some time. Since 'the slug incident'. But, they did replace my washing line (the huge 4 arm one) which keeled over after I badly loaded 2 arms with towels and left them out for weeks and they got over wet. Just sent a new one, no quibbles.
