Getting my flu jab later and need to buy birthday presents for tomorrow as ds is going to a joint party. Only working half day though so glad it's Friday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/10/2017 07:42

Today won't be a nsd after all £40 dd cake, £15 cleaner which I don't usually count as it's weekly in budget.
Wish I could get an early finish today but it's my turn for the late cover

SnugglySnerd · 06/10/2017 09:21

DD was constipated last week. I made her eat a pear and she went to the loo about 10 mins later. I'm sure it was a coincidence and couldn't have worked so quickly but she's now convinced pears are magic!

Supermarket was a lot bit more ££ than I'd hoped. Not food it was all the formula, wipes, washing powder etc that added up.

Today should be NSD though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2017 09:53

Thanks Need, I'm going to try these when I run out www.superdrug.com/Skin/Cleansers-%26-Toners/Superdrug-Naturally-Radiant-Glycolic-Acid-Pads-60/p/717523

N+P have really ramped up there prices recently Angry

Am also envious of Sea £2k bonus. TBH I think you'd struggle to spend it all in one go on one mile Dw, unless you buy the one that opens when you tap the door with your knee or hand.

Hoorah! 3 weeks worth of maternity allowance has hit my account. Yippee! £600 ish. I’ve snacked that away into savings for the moment as I’ll most likely need it when I’m on the unpaid bit of my leave. From Feb to May.

Looking at nappies on amazon via subscribe and save. Trying to work out whether we’re better buying from them, or just buying in boots and getting the points.

Still in bed. Ds was awake feeding from 1 through until 430. Then awake again at 7. Dh changed him while I had breakfast. I’ve fed him and he’s now asleep. For the moment....

Dm called this morning. That’s every day since I’ve been on leave. Except for weekends. She doesn’t want to disturb dh. doesn’t mind disturbing me though...
I swear she thinks I can’t cope. She already thinks I’m not eating properly. Every day she’s offered to bring me lunch. Today they’re off to Waitrose. Do I need anything? Nope. Can they bring me something? Nope nothing I need. She asked what I was having for lunch. Apparently beans on toast isn’t substantial enough. Sigh. So no doubt she’ll be round with cake. Biscuits. Crisps. even though I’ve asked her not to bring anything

Have just decided I want Diet Coke. So have asked her to grab me a couple of cold cans from Waitrose.

SnugglySnerd · 06/10/2017 10:24

Em I considered a nappy subscription but worked out that Asda or Aldi nappies are still cheaper. Also I avoid buying too many at once in case they grow out of them.

Just spent another hour on my pre-Xmas clear out. Made a list of all the things I've already bought for people and the people still to buy for. It's not as bad as I expected! Savvy purchases of Book People sets etc during the year now means I have plenty of small gifts for the children I have to buy for and against few spare for birthdays if DD gets any party invites.

ememem84 · 06/10/2017 10:44

Good point snuggly ds is only in size 1 which I think is up to 5kg. The rate he’s going he’ll have reached that my this afternoon!! Haha!!

It’s such a shame we don’t have the “normal” supermarkets (Aldi Lidl Asda Morrison’s Sainsbury’s) here...I e heard good things about their own brand nappies. Lidl’s especially. Sigh. Boots it is then. But at least I’ll get points.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/10/2017 10:57

Em Can I borrow your dm? Smile

ememem84 · 06/10/2017 11:59

sunny sure!!!! I’ll send her over!! Seriously I know she cares and I know I’m lucky she does and shouldn’t be moaning but maaaaannnn she doesn’t seem to grasp that I’m 33 26 and can do things for myself. And also need to do things for myself especially with Ds around.

They’ve just been up. She turned up with 4 diet cokes. And three toblerones. I knew she wouldn’t just bring Diet Coke. I was saying to dh earlier this morning she keeps telling me to rest and relax and ask for help if I need it (I will do this) but also seems to want me to just sit home all day. I got a telling off yesterday for going to boots. They could have done that for me. If I stayed home all day every day I’d go nuts.

ememem84 · 06/10/2017 12:02

Oops posted too soon.

I thought that today we were effectively housebound as I’d forgotten to take the pram wheels, and carry cot out of the car. Turns out dh had taken them out and left them in the spare room. So we can go for a walk if we feel like it. Dh needed the car today. So we may take a walk through the lanes up to the racing/livery stables and look at the horses. It’s only 10 minutes or so away.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2017 12:35

If you get some time to do valued opinions surveys they pay out in boots vouchers. Surveys are usually 75p each & pay out at £10.50. So 14 surveys gets you a voucher.

NSD day today.

Doing some mb but waiting for a good match.

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/10/2017 12:48

DD2 now has some movical. snuggly i’m sure if it was DD1 I could give her some magic fruit and she would go ten minutes later Smile. DD2 is still to young to persuade in that way.

Both DC home today due to school staff training day. They were a nightmare at doctors, pharmacy and supermarket. Ahhhh

£27 in sainsburys but due to DC I didn’t get more than the next couple of days food. Sainsburys have a thing for the next few days where you get bonus nectar points. I got a voucher for 2000!

Also spent £7.45 on a nitty gritty comb, prime. One of DDs friends has it. Can’t see any yet.... but getting prepared!

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/10/2017 12:50

I had a recent panel fluffywhere I got £10 for 30 mins of my time from valued opinions Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2017 12:55

Nice one Bacon 👊 You can always find something to spend it on.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/10/2017 13:04

Actually Em I remember that one of the major features of early motherhood was finding parental offers of help acutely irritating. I wondered if they would offer you a raincheck on that until he's about 6 months old and teething and has learned to curse and bite? It was later on that I really needed the help.

I'm still languishing in bed waiting for the flu vaccine to wear off. I should have days in bed more often. It's pretty good really.

ememem84 · 06/10/2017 13:13

Ooh just looked at values opinions but apparently they aren’t accepting new members right now. Have bookmarked to Check again later.

WreckTangled · 06/10/2017 13:17

Love I'm pleased you got some movicol I should get things moving.

Em I can understand how your mum must be making you feel hopefully she will calm down soon!

Had flu jab earlier then went to the charity shops!

I got:

A stair basket (been looking for one of these for ages!)
David Williams book for dd
Dress for dd
Jumper for dd (verbaudet)
Oasis jumper for me
Next fairisle jumper for ds
Brand new Disney mirror which will be used as a birthday present for the party tomorrow

£20 ish.

Then £10 in the small newsagents on another birthday present for the party tomorrow and a tow truck for ds as I had bought more for dd in the charity shop.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/10/2017 13:27

Love hopefully the movicol will get things moving but if it doesn't (or she resists taking it like my DS) I do recommend syrup of figs which you can get in good chemists or from Amazon. We struggled for months as DS wouldn't take movicol but then that, along with a daily Nakd bar (mostly made of dates) sorted him out.

Coffee and bacon roll out with a friend, £5.60. Might buy a£10 meal deal from mr T for tonight and push the meal plan back as I'm feeling lazy, it was a rubbish night and I fancy wine and pudding .

My bulbs have arrived so I'm hoping it stays nice tomorrow so I can get planting. Then I will need to keep up a vigil with a water pistol to keep the blardy squirrels at bay.

LonelyOversharer · 06/10/2017 13:32

Good haul wreck ! I have a stair basket in the loft, the mice have probably eaten it. But I'm hoping the escaped snake ate the mice. We all used to trip over it, but it was very pretty.

Just at the shop doing nothing. Was going to go out on my bike but cba.

Valued opinions don't value my opinion! I get lots of surveys, but get punted out after the qualifying 342 questions. At least e rewards give you 10 points for this.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2017 14:50

I think M&S have a meal deal with wine this weekend too.

Lidl have fleece lined tights coming in soon. 2 for £5.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/10/2017 15:56

My dDad is printer shopping after his gave up. I feel like I should send him a sympathy card. Printer shopping is such a ghastly business,.

WreckTangled · 06/10/2017 17:18

£20 on three Emma bridge water mugs. Dam that bargain thread.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2017 17:25

I'd have been all over that offer too if I liked EB.

£8 in from mb.

WreckTangled · 06/10/2017 17:47

They'll be gifts at Christmas. Probably. One definitely is.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/10/2017 17:57

My mum can be a bit like that sometimes to Em I feel really ungrateful to moan about it as I know its because she cares but sometimes it can be a bit much and seems to insinuate I can't manage I think you have to remember that you are her baby and so her instinct is to look after you. She will calm down soon, give her jobs to do that are useful is my advice!

Dd had her flu spray today, will get my jab next week.

NSD Halo although we are now getting low on food so will def have to do shopping tomos.
