love we have had awful constipation issues with DS since he was a baby. He was given syrup & meds but they either made him go or made him puke. We found that bananas made it worse and kiwi & pears makes it loads better! Hope she's better soon. It's so uncomfortable Flowers

cag yep that's exactly what we had. Ran along the edge and down the side and slowly destroyed our lino! It wasn't sopping but it had damaged the floor.
We can't afford to have it fixed at the mo so we've just installed a shower curtain £1.50 and a telescopic shower curtain pole which was about £10. It has saved our bathroom until we can get someone in to fix it. We tried DIY but we made it worse as the old sealant needs to come off Blush

100yearsdotcom · 05/10/2017 20:20

Ha! seacow I did very similar booking my Xmas ocado slot last night! Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/10/2017 20:25

Phew cag. At least it appears to be something that can be sorted.
£21 in b&m as extension lead over heated

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/10/2017 21:04

Love def take her back, lactulose is useless! Movicol or laxido would be better. Being constipated is horrible, warm apple juice helped my dd when she was little. I get migraines as well, they are awful and I am yet to find anything that helps Sad mine are def linked to hormones though.

Wreck we might have some JW books you could have for your dd if you want? Hetty Feather? We were given a load but dd isn't that interested, she loves murder mysteries at the moment!! She just finished a book called The London Eye Mystery tonight which she loved.

Cagliostro · 05/10/2017 21:12

Dinner very late tonight! But bathroom pretty much sorted I think.

DD needed comforting as it was hard for her seeing the bully but she did awesomely. Repeating the mantra "she can't do anything to me, she has no power" is helping. :)

Really hope the doctor can help love that's thoroughly miserable. Must be awful for a small child not to be able to go! I am finding lactulose vile helpful myself :o but it depends what's causing the problem I guess and they need to help work out what is going to get things moving and not fob you off.

WreckTangled · 05/10/2017 21:13

Ooo girlie that would be brilliant! She's probably read about 20 if not more so let me know what you have happy to pay postage. Not heard of hetty feather?

Laska5772 · 05/10/2017 21:18

CollieBobs · 05/10/2017 21:22

laska bahaha that made me laugh so much! I've done that before and my DH actually looked at me like this when I did it >>> Hmm

Grin
WreckTangled · 05/10/2017 21:26

Laska that's so funny Grin

mammymammyIRL · 05/10/2017 21:28

Oh laska that's so funny & they looked fantastic!

needastrongone · 05/10/2017 21:33

Grin Laska. She did sound polite at least!

I am glad you appreciate my awesomeness too Seacow GrinGrinGrin. I am having a go at courgette and Brie soup tomorrow btw.

Cag sounds like you did everything right re the leak. Glad it's sorted. And of course your DC are awesome, even if they have some additional things going on, why should they not be, they sound fab.

Our very generous builders put in all Bosch and Miele appliances when the house was built and we have a Smeg dishwasher in addition. Both Bosch and Miele going strong and it's 6 years almost to the day. The smeg has recently broken but in fairness the engineer said the part that has gone is such an unusual and rare thing to go he didn't recognise it initially. Smeg have also fallen over themselves to offer a 5 year warranty on the appliance now too so value their reputation. My Miele vacuum is incredible so I think I'd go with this brand as my out and out favourite.

needastrongone · 05/10/2017 21:40

Keep the gin order Seacow and I'll be round on the 23rd Grin

Spends and busyness have been high today but that's because I have to potentially stay in all day tomorrow waiting for an engineer.

£16 PT session.
£32 Boots - Nip and Fab are half price Fluffy if you need to know. I got 6 months of magnesium tablets within the on 3 for 2.
£140 Sainbury's, lots of store cupboard stuff and £10 cleaning products to get 250 points. Returned a coat for £35 and got a £7.50 card to utilise too.
£66 feed shop.
£22 nails.

Ouch! I've £80 of Boots points though....

Me and DD have danced round the kitchen tonight to Billy Idol. DS went off to his bedroom to listen to Mozart. True story. Spot where the culture lies in our house.

Laska5772 · 05/10/2017 21:41

She really liked them actually .has just texted from bus ( insisted on going home) we islanders are strange folk.. she is eating the ones she took home on bus!

ememem84 · 05/10/2017 21:43

I don’t have a dishwasher and am feeling dishwasher envy

Dh came home from work with naice OJ and also pineapple juice, sparkling water, chocolate digestives, haribo strawbs, crumpets, and a jam Swiss roll my fave

He realised that maybe, just maybe he’d upset me a bit yesterday.

jO peanut chicken oooh was amazing. We had it with rice and mange touts. Mmmmmm. Will def do that one again.

Laska5772 · 05/10/2017 21:47

Looks like I need more practice!!

needastrongone · 05/10/2017 21:50

It's great isn't it Em, we had greens like you and baked sweet potato wedges. Not quite enough just by itself I didn't think. The Haribo strawbs would be my personal fave....

Cagliostro · 05/10/2017 21:59

Oooh we will have to disagree on the strawbs. I am all about the jelly babies and fizzy cherries when it comes to haribo. And starmix but it has to be the mini ones not the normal size.

Glad he has done that though. Snippiness is basically inevitable in the holycrapwehavesuddenlybecomeparents stage, it's how you handle it and apologise and move on that counts I think.

My friend crocheted me a tiny sloth 😍😍😍 he is going to join me in hospital and everything. Cuuuute.

LonelyOversharer · 05/10/2017 22:22

Oh I've seen those sloths on pintrest. I cannot follow a crochet pattern, so kudos to your friend cag !

Nevermind laska at least they were edible. My last fail was rubber carrot cake. Never use defrosted grated carrot. The chickens liked it but then they will eat slugs and poo

needastrongone · 05/10/2017 22:32

My SiL once made an inedible courgette cake. We sat silently round the dinner table chewing and chewing this cake until DMil, who is quite outspoken and honest said 'Dsil this is bloody awful' and we all fell about laughing, including Dsil. Grin

Cagliostro · 05/10/2017 23:00

I got confused there as I read "inedible" as "incredible" :o

Feeling a bit caffeinated wired so I'm on the sofa watching futurama. Going to crack open the moisturiser and attack my legs with it. They are in an awful state Blush

ChristmasSeacow · 05/10/2017 23:20

Cag I'd have thought the leak is your landlords problem really, once you've let them know. Slow leaks will cost more in the end if not fixed straight away so they should be incentivised to get off their butt! They sound crap though. Hopefully not your problem soon.

(As an aside I first read that as your DH drying himself under the bath but it didn't sound like a very comfortable spot...)

Love the £2k gift thing is a brilliant perk but not that easy to spend in one go if that's a requirement - DH is checking. I won't be spending £2k on a dishwasher and the only things we've ever spent that sort of money on are our car and long-haul flights - but no chance of a swanky holiday with the dcs at the mo! I am not confessing to my engagement ring and fancy pants camera as they are never-to-be-repeated expenses . And it's DH's money really but he's not into 'stuff' at all.

Need I am glad I have saved you from Brie disappointment and soup disaster Wink

Incidentally the dishwasher that's just given up is a Bosch. Was here and already old when we bought the house - I believe it was installed in 2001 so that's pretty good going!

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/10/2017 06:53

I don't have a dishwasher em. I have almost got a space for it and a price for the pipes but I can't be faffed with the hassle at the minute. Or spend the money.

Nsd planned today.
Speedy tomorrow as butcher and sainsbury for party weekend.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/10/2017 07:17

Cag, Christmas and Wreck* that's really interesting to know about the differences with referrals. The headmistress here thinks it's bonkers too. We're having private tests done but even if a positive diagnosis is given, it won't count in the school system unless we have it repeated through the NHS and they won't refer me unless I go on a 10 week parenting course, for two hours a week. balls

100 Thanks, yes ds's early months were a bit of a frazzle. Smile
