fluffy I bought fleece lined tights a couple of years ago in new look. They’re the best. still wear socks with them though
Pretty sure M&S will also do them. They do thermal leggings etc.

100yearsdotcom · 02/10/2017 23:45

Happy birthday em, only just sneaked in there! Take it easy with the pump, unfortunately the best time to express is the middle of the night apparently, particularly around 2-4am Shock as that's when your milk production is highest due to hormone type stuff technical term also, if you want to continue longterm it's a good thing to maintain direct from boob feeding alongside expressing as baby's saliva tells your boobs what it needs from the milk! It's the craziest, most amazing process!

Well done cag!

Moana is absolutely lovely!

We survived and dh got back late last night. Unfortunately DD is a bit poorly and seems to have picked up a bug :(

thewaitresses · 03/10/2017 06:19

Hello! Sorry haven't posted for ages Blush I've been keeping up with posts as usual - a daily highlight! But have had lots going on (being back at work is proving inconvenient to MN!)
October ended ok. Still above my budget target but did include £150 on logs. Overall though I feel much more in control having now logged all spends for 4 months I can see where money is going and can also project forwards.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/10/2017 06:20

Morning.
Ended up spending £40 in pizza express as ds decided he wanted tea out. That was with 9 off with a voucher.
Nsd planned today. I have a big bag of stuff to take beck to sainsbury as well

mammymammyIRL · 03/10/2017 07:10

Place marking

ememem84 · 03/10/2017 07:21

Morning all. Nsd planned today.

Admin to be done this morning - need to email work and make sure they’ve calculated my mat pay correctly (looking at it again I’m not sure they have but want to check).

Need to look into a rewards based credit card.

Friends are popping up at some point today so that’ll be nice.

Ds took a bottle from dh last night! We tried out the pump. Yay! So i was asleep from 930 to 2. Then awake for an hour. And awake again at 515. So happy he took a bottle this will make things much easier once I’ve got expressing milk down.

Still plan on bf as much as possible at home during the day but it gives us options and me a bit more freedom.

mammymammyIRL · 03/10/2017 07:45

Belated birthday wishes em sounds like you'd a wonderful day and were treated like a proper princess.

That's great about your ds taking the bottle from dh but don't put yourself under too much pressure pumping just yet because your boobs could start overproducing - they work on supply & demand basis!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2017 07:51

Ah em I bet your dh loved that!

I need to buy some lunch today as we don't have anything. Annoying.

ememem84 · 03/10/2017 07:54

I’d read that mammy so we’re just going to take it easy. Enough initially so dh can do an evening feed and I can get some sleep. Not going to go pump mad!

WreckTangled · 03/10/2017 08:05

Just realised that dh has closed all the vents on our windows no wonder we have no much condensation. He did it because he's scared of spiders getting in Hmm

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 08:17

🙄🕷

Spends yesterday £30 food, didn't pay for soft play as they were really arsey about them being older kids. Despite them being under the height limit. Hmm £5 primark on, funnily enough, fleece lined leggings for DD. Still need plain black ones for tap though so will have to try H&M at some point soon.

Think Tesco was about £50, I didn't even look, just ordered random stuff HmmBlush not the most organised of evenings!

mammymammyIRL · 03/10/2017 08:18

Wreck that's my thumb beside one of our mahoosive spiders 🕷 last week. I've discovered they don't scurry like normal spiders or use their web to drop down from a height they just plop from where they are to a lower place.

ememem84 · 03/10/2017 08:30

Aaaaaaaahhhh!!! 🕷🕷🕷🕷< burns mammys house down> 🔥🔥🔥

I’m trying to increase my iron levels by eating iron rich food as well as taking the tablets which are playing havoc with my digestion TMI Googled iron rich food and established that peanut butter is a good one. Have had peanut butter on toast. And also jam on toast. Turns out I don’t like peanut butter on toast. Eugh. Claggy. I told dh I should stick to reeses peanut butter cups or peanut butter magnums....

SnugglySnerd · 03/10/2017 08:36

Another day another sleepless night and early start...

Wreck I was considering a mud kitchen but hadn't thought of it as a Xmas thing. That's a good idea.

Need more Calpol today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/10/2017 08:45

Spiders don't come in, they lurk & come out to mate.

I'm chief spider catcher. Dh does crane flies.

CollieBobs · 03/10/2017 09:01

Crikey mammy! Look at that beast. We used to have big ones like that in our last house. It was like the spidery bit in Harry potter. They're creepier when they cast their own shadows just like in your photo. Eeeek.

CollieCat is nuzzling the phone I'm using to type this. She's very loveable today! And totally in my way. Purring in my ear ,& snuffling my nose.

Right so today is a LSD. As I'm just catching the bus.

needastrongone · 03/10/2017 09:03

Blimey! That'a big one Shock

Thanks for the kind comments about the steps and DD. She's got a new team for next year off the back of that which is good. And don't forget that I have to walk 2 spaniels everyday, come hell or high water. That gives me 10k steps at least before I add in any training. And I'm awful, just awful at not moving. Sat in the bath for 5 minutes last night thinking what the hell I was supposed to do Grin

Em The liquid iron tablets are better for digestion and you absorb more of the iron. I use Spatone (from Amazon) but my coach recommends another brand even more highly (he's a physiologist too) and I'll dig out the name. You are still doing fab by the way.

Hope you are okay Snuggly, sounds like things are a bit tough with DS over your end.

Spends from last couple of days and today to come.
£12 window cleaner.
£10 Boot camp
£32 M&S

Got to wait in now for Smeg to come and look at our dishwasher and I've negotiated almost a full refund of the monies I paid to the other company. I'm now arguing for full plus compensation.

Today will get some household stuff done and then I can go out later in the week. I've some vouchers for JL. And DS's IPad to take to repair under warranty.

needastrongone · 03/10/2017 09:09

And Happy Birthday for yesterday Em and Life DS Smile

SnugglySnerd · 03/10/2017 09:29

Thanks Need. We all have lurgy at the moment. DH has promised to be on dcs duty tonight so I can catch up a bit. Possibly I scared him when I swore at the alarm clock this morning!

needastrongone · 03/10/2017 10:13

Not the same Snuggly, but DH snored so badly that I went to the spare room last night to discover he's taken the pillows from there as extras for our own room.

And he even woke DD up in the next room!!

The guys at work keeping texting me photos of pegs Grin

needastrongone · 03/10/2017 10:20

Oh and some of you might remember my summer musings about giving up work. I'm carrying on. Lots of reasons but some are the fact I will be lost when the DC go to Uni without some form of routine. I love the guys at work, we are a fab team. And I too social a person to not want interaction a couple of times a week. Plus. DH has decided to expand (yep, at 56 when we are financially secure.. he were go again ha!) and buy another building and I want to be involved in this as it will hard going for a couple of years getting this up and running.

Yes, it makes me more stressed, more tired and I don't need to work, but the positives outweigh the negatives I feel. Especially as I am getting to the stage where I can see the DC leaving and I WILL suffer empty nest, especially with DD.

Oh - £8 whatever on a prescription of Gabapentin.

ememem84 · 03/10/2017 10:50

Ooh my white co order arrived. Ds has a couple of lovely new blankets. And they were all sorts of discounted. Yay!!

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 11:15

Sounds like the right choice need. :)

I used to be scared of spiders and things like daddy long legs but last year DD had an animal handling birthday party. I held a Madagascan hissing cockroach which I had previously been utterly petrified of. I held my hand out and looked away with my eyes closed while she put it on my hand! But then I looked at it and realised close up it wasn't so different to holding another small animal really and it was actually kind of cute. Since then I manage much better, although a tarantula would be a challenge and a half! I would never hold a snail though but that's because GROSS rather than scary.

Em have lots of vitamin C with the iron as it aids absorption. Good excuse for fancypants orange juice :)

ememem84 · 03/10/2017 11:35

Dh is on it cag I love a fancypants OJ. Apparently dairy inhibits absorption too. So no tea for at least an hour after taking them.

My bruises from the saline drip (at least that’s what I think it was...) have turned a wicked shade of purple/green... they look like I’ve been in the wars or that dh has been beating me. he hasn’t promise

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 12:26

Eek didn't know that about dairy (apparently caffeine inhibits it though) - not great as due to low carbing I am eating much more super yummy cheese
