MN wouldn't let me post yesterday

Where are you hiding the baby em ? Such a neat little bump

Obviously I will always advocate bacon for breakfast. Mmmm. We often have one for Sunday night tea. Not so sure about the lentils fluffy

pink DP is oblivious to mess/unfinished DIY. It just doesn't bother him. But when things do get done he thinks it is great Hmm

£84 in sainsburys yesterday including clothes

£40ish on a haircut today and probably £20 in Tesco for all the things I forgot yesterday

DC woke up at 7am and took themselves downstairs to watch tv. DP has just made me a cup of tea in bed Star

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/09/2017 08:02

Great news collie , everything crossed for you!

Surveys definitely become sparse over weekends and bank holidays.

christmas is this the sort of thing that you're seeing with your dd? www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-41355039/my-baby-is-allergic-to-milk

PinkLemonadeforme · 23/09/2017 09:31

Glad its not just me !
He is great -does his fair share of cleaning etc but doesnt want or need to improve things in the house.
I want it "finished" iyswim ?
Never mind I have a plan 😁
Heading to farm shop for a roast -only eat meat 1-2 times a month so looking forward to that.
Market for veg and then popping into a craft shop for Christmas stuff.
Plan all Christmas hampers and shopping to be done by November 😎

Cagliostro · 23/09/2017 10:33

I need to get more organised about Christmas.

Did some financial stuff this morning - updated income record, withdrew money from PayPal and then transferred money my dad gave us ages ago into my ISA (as said ISA is finally reactivated). I feel uncomfortable with my £370 balance in bank account now which is silly as this time last year it would've been the same amount into the overdraft Hmm.

I now have £900 in the ISA for fridge and other furniture/moving costs. Seriously need to get our butts in gear over this stuff. Having a panic ATM and really wishing the nesting instinct would show up nice and early Hmm but instead I am just lounging on the sofa and don't plan to do much else all day TBH. First day 'off' (from rushing about to family/Home Ed/hospital/teaching commitments) in over 2 weeks.

Also went on Amazon this morning to finally order my copy of the DVD I got for DSD (so that'll be out of my personal spends), plus 80 bags of raspberry leaf tea and... 1200 nappy sacks #glamparenting :o

ememem84 · 23/09/2017 10:41

Is raspberry leaf tea nasty then cag? I was tempted to buy some.

I have a feeling though baby will arrive Monday. Dh has a super important client meeting on Monday. And if it's not Monday it'll be my birthday.

Dh is making soup.

He just mentioned that he's managed to hopefully get his work to agree that he can use the rest of his holiday allowance (18 days!) over the next three months. So one or two days off a week (having a long weekend) which will be nice for me and baby instead of him taking a week at a time. It should work from works persoective too. Crap that he is even thinking about that but he needs to factor in his rather junior team being without a manager and the fact that his manager is now on sabbatical for a while.

We haven't left the house yet. I've just got out of bed and showered. I think we might venture out later on. But for now it's time for cleaning sorting and putting away.

Cagliostro · 23/09/2017 10:57

I don't like it personally em but then I don't like any herbal/fruit tea at all. I had it lots at the end of my last pregnancy though and the labour was certainly quicker so I'll drink it anyway - even if it's purely superstition/psychosomatic it won't do any harm I guess (and it's less than a fiver for the pack).

I've decided I'm not even getting dressed today. Fuck it. I should do some more admin stuff even if it's just ordering baby things but I'm not even sure that will happen. DH working all weekend but thankfully off on Monday.

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 23/09/2017 11:08

Its me Pinklemonade -time for an autumn namechangeWink
I drank gallons of that bloody stuff em
Still waaaay overdue which was annoying !

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 23/09/2017 11:10

Feet up Cag !
Sometimes a good rest means you are more efficient later Grin

HollyTheHarrier · 23/09/2017 11:26

Hi all, have been vaguely reading but not really keeping up as this week has been mental. I did pick up that em has finished work, sunny is a beaver leader supremo, creme (I think?) has a job interview, mammy did an excellent half marathon. Well done/good luck as appropriate 😊I think various people are also struggling with health/babies who don't sleep so 💐To you all.

This week has been so expensive it's insane. A few bits of furniture bought, holiday shopping/airport parking/getting a shed built. In more frugal news I have just haggled £75 off my car insurance. On holiday next week which will no doubt be spendy but I have savings to cover it and don't plan to do anything crazy.

LonelyOversharer · 23/09/2017 11:28

Absolutely feet up cag and em Raspberry leaf tea did naff all for me. Very bumpy ride in old isuzi trooper to the quarry got me going with ds, but I was aready a week over.
The "is it today?" feeling is peculiar, it's your body but you have no control. Are you getting "any signs of baby yet?" messages from your pals yet em? I found they got old very quickly, especially if you do go over and are desperate for it all to kick off.

Spent an hour pulling up nettles in the garden. We will have to have a bonfire. Planning to extend the existing shed (which still gas no side on it), and will steal the old office as a craft room for me and dd's if I deign to share it it's plastered out and dry, has elec etc, and double glazed windows! We went to town when building it, which I'm glad about now. Have let the 5 ex bat chickens out as a ground clearance crew. They're the easiest to catch and the worst fliers, so hopefully won't get next door and eat all the lovely veg there!

Off to price very cheap bricks...

Laska5772 · 23/09/2017 11:38

Raspberry leaf tea shudder i stiil remember how awful that was. My 'get baby out' meal was pepperoni pizza and a glass of elderberry wine..! I was so fed up when the modwife told me I may have a week or so more on my due date that i came home and piled into the two tiongs i had studiosly avoided.. processed food and wine.. Ds was born 12 hrs later!! Grin

Laska5772 · 23/09/2017 11:46

Lonley Envy about your office/craft shed ( as wel as needs walk in wardrobe) i am now thinking i will use some of my retirement money to build one for myself..
Btw i have heard a ' redundancies' rumour at work.. am now planning on delaying my resignation until the work budget paper is out.. this is because my jpb narrowly escaped last time and i am pretty sure it would be inline this time as nothing much has changed.. could be good for me and id be daft to go before now ( even though sadly not for some of my colleagues but if i go voluntarily it might save someone elses job also and id still get redundancy payments.. ). Im still lounging around in PJs Blush. Id better get up and at it in garden.
DH cooking he has just come back with a Turbot!!

Laska5772 · 23/09/2017 11:48

From fish shop..that is hes not a fisherman although thats something else im interested in doing.. ive seen people catch quite big fish off the harbour walls here

Taytocrisps · 23/09/2017 11:52

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Since school started back, everything seems to have moved up a gear. Also, DD is taking part in a show in October so she has extra rehearsals at weekends. Work is very busy and there's some extra stuff going on (can't go into detail) which is making for a very stressful working environment and generating extra work. The extra stuff will be over by November so at least it's a short term thing. Let's just say I'm glad it's the weekend.

I've been reading though and checking in on em and Cag.

I'm still on the frugaleering track and watching my spending. Having said that, I need to get DD some new leggings/tracksuit bottoms urgently because a few pairs have gone too short and then I noticed that two other pairs have rips at the seam, so she seems to be down to just one or two pairs of leggings. I also need to get new runners for myself. There's always something. I guess I should be thinking about Christmas too.

Girlie how's DD getting on in school now?

mammy did you hear about the Dublin half-marathon? Apparently they usually hold it in the Phoenix Park (and vicinity) but for some reason they moved it to Balbriggan (North County Dublin). Loads of cars got stuck in a major traffic jam on the M1 and were late getting to the half-marathon. They had to postpone the starting time and even then, some of the runners were late.

ememem84 · 23/09/2017 12:05

lonely yep. The messages have started. Every day this week the boss has asked whether there's any news (they're running a sweepstake at work). I've messaged back with my "news of the day" - yesterday's was the discovery of the peanut butter caramel chocolate deeleys. The day before was me getting up to date with Netflix etc.

Dm is being asked on a daily basis. She's getting annoyed with it too. Has told people that when there is news she will let them know. Bah.

laksa oooh fishing. I'm not very good at it - never catch anything- but do enjoy occasionally going. Friend of ours does spear fishing and free diving so he regularly spends evenings at the beach looking for bass etc. He fishes them, I crank up the BBQ and then gut the fish and cook. It's a risky game if I'm honest, as there's no guarantee we'll get any dinner. But the last few times have been good.

He night fishes from the piers for squid too. Mmm.

my riding instructor text me the other day and suggested if I go overdue to just go up and have a canter round the sand school!!!?!!?? (Probably won't try that one...)

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/09/2017 12:06

Laska One of dhs old colleagues got made redundant 4 weeks before he retired. It was most odd, hopefully they'll decide you're too expensive.

Cagliostro · 23/09/2017 12:10

:) Hi tayto!

I think the tea isn't supposed to bring on labour (sure didn't with DS, 11 days late!) but it's something to do with making the pushing stage faster. Or something. But then it could've been purely because DS was my second. Ah well for a few quid I'll do it anyway!

I need to write a list of stuff that needs buying. I've started my Christmas notes - have bought a few things already but really should plan properly as I'll be in no fit state to do that later! Can't believe I am thinking of Christmas pressies for a tiny person who hasn't even arrived yet Shock (no way can Santa leave out the Caglets' baby sister, they'd be really confused by that).

Cagliostro · 23/09/2017 12:11

Nothing brought on late labour for me fwiw. Tried all of it. Stubborn little wotsit he was (is).

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/09/2017 12:16

laska definitely keep quiet on your plans. The payout would taper with age though? I only know this as DP had to do unofficial calculations in his old job. But definitely worth sticking it out for extra camper van/she'd/craft room cash.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/09/2017 13:14

Spent a fortune in Aldi, Lidl and sainsbury.
Went to the gym and it was the new release of body attack. Was funny.

YY laska, say nowt for now and see if vol is a good package.

Rest up preggo ladies. Have you had the baby yet em.
Sorry couldn't resist.
Used to piss me off no end as both of mine were late.

No worries tatyo. Nice to hear from you when you can make it

WreckTangled · 23/09/2017 13:26

That's a good idea em your dh will enjoy the extra time with ds too. Does he get any paternity leave?

£78 Lidl.

Didn't need to pay for football as ds still isn't joining in properly but is a bit.

Meal plan:

Chicken rice and peas
Chicken salad wraps
Chilli
Shepherds pie
Pork schnitzels
Sausage and butter bean casserole
Pizza
Chicken Caesar salad

I seem to have more than seven meals Grin hopefully make next week cheaper.

One of the bigger boys helped ds Smile
