Hello folks, sorry but I have not caught up. I fell off the thread because I was so busy and then felt too embarrassed to come back.
Laksa PM'd me to see if I was ok. Thanks Laska, I really appreciated that. I will keep up in future.

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/09/2017 02:23

Welcome back copper. Don't worry if you can't keep up. You can just drop in from time to time if you'd like to. I will miss you if you are not here. You understand me, and always say the right thing, and I like that. Smile

Em I know what you mean about getting emotional about different things when a baby is on the way. After my son was born I used to look at homeless people in the street and think "Wow, that guy was someone's perfect baby once." It really struck me how the person's mother would feel to see them now. I gather that the Dads also get much softer after a baby is born and that the hormone adjustment in the Dad is measurable.

Cag That's really interesting that that school was so driven by attendance and not by the wellbeing of the child. We are struggling with that too. Ds was getting mashed in the playground today because he can't run fast enough to keep up with the other boys and can't think fast enough to come up with a suitable reposte when they make remarks. It's rubbish really. I'm going to ask the teacher for help tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/09/2017 06:26

Hey copper. Don't worry about keeping up or being embarrassed about not.

Cag, it's so easy to take words or meanings the wrong way. Your are not an idiot. I would have done the same.

Our school is outstanding but they have the caring ethos. If a school is getting extra help great so special measures can be fine. However if a school is sliding not so good as a local school did and the children suffered.

Very tired at the minute. Life is too full on.
Do any of your have DC with hearing issues. Will my first stop be the gp or the school nurse?

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/09/2017 06:56

life Mine does but I just went straight to private audiologist. I'd guess the gp would be the first step if you want NHS treatment but Girlie would know. Her dd has this.

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 07:03

I'd say GP life, in the first instance too. I can ask my GP friends if you like? Girlie would indeed know.

Waves at copper, brill to see you, don't worry about keeping up. Thanks laska for messaging.

MAMMY HOW DID THE HALF MARATHON GO!!!!!!

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 07:07

sunny, does your school operate a 'bench buddy' system or similar, so if your DS is feeling overwhelmed in the playground for whatever reason they sit on a bench and a bench buddy, usually a Y5/6 will come over and help them.

I think there's similar schemes but ours did that, might be of benefit to your DS. Or it's something to suggest anyway, as it promotes a caring ethos overall.

WreckTangled · 19/09/2017 07:10

Love usually yes he is but he does through phases of being an unsupportive dick. I always tell on him to his mum Grin

Oh no seacow!! Bad dh. Also ds has been having some bad dreams too.

Life the school SENCO can refer straight to audiology. How old is he?

Copper don't worry about not keeping up!

Doing a six week in talk at a school this morning. Well the nurse is I probably won't talk BlushGrin

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/09/2017 07:18

He is a hair breath off 8. I'm not sure if there is an issue I just have a feeling

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 07:31

Worth getting it checked though.

CollieBobs · 19/09/2017 07:35

lifelong my DS is slightly deaf. However is he isn't school age yet. Had to go GP who referred us to audiology.

I fainted last night after a painful trip to the whizz palace (parks & rec trm for toilet). So, I'm hoping to get an early Dr appointment for anti biotics. Never had such a bad UTI!

And my first symptom of a UTI is confusion which completely makes sense as yesterday I was a tad nonsensical at times.

Anyway, £10 on anti biotics. And £2 on milk.

WreckTangled · 19/09/2017 07:42

Oh no collie Sad

You'll all be pleased to know that dh snuck out and bought bread and butter last night. No flowers for me though Hmm

A GP can at least check for wax first. I took my ds and it turned out his ear was completely blocked so I would probably go down that route first.

LonelyOversharer · 19/09/2017 07:48

We have an air frost! First of the year. I must cut my little pumpkins off today and get them into the greenhouse or they will be mush.

Hey copper good to see you're ok! No worries posting, I did just the same last year, it took me about 10 months to pull myself together (money wise), and creep back onto the thread. How did the base for your greenhouse go?

Dilema today...do I start removing the hair from the sofa seatpad, or go for a bike ride? The sky is clear blue, but it's very coooold.

ememem84 · 19/09/2017 07:53

Oh collie feel better soon!!

Feeling a bit happier today. (But it is only 745...) was texting a friend who is also preggo but she lives in the uk. She's baby no 3. She said that she was told to look at the time left to its absolute max. So I'm due next Thursday but add two weeks on. So due in 3.5 weeks (give or take). That way I can't feel all down if he goes over. And also she thinks that I'm feeling down because a) it's near the end, and b) I didn't see anyone yesterday.

Strangely work were (aside from dh) a bit part of my support network - small office, almost everyone there had kids and also people to talk to!!! I spoke to no one yesterday.

My cold has developed a bit into the sneezy and coughy stage which adds a new danger element to things. Can I sneeze or cough without peeing...! So far so good. Haha!

Chicken massaman curry for dinner tonight using leftover roasted chicken. Or it may be yellow curry. Not sure. The paste is in a box in the cupboard. Either way it'll be chicken butternut squash and potatoes in the curry with pea/egg rice. Mmm.

Midwife appointment at 930. Have offered to drop dh into work but he needs to be in early and I don't want to do two trips.

Should probably be nsd.

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/09/2017 09:00

Ha ha at telling his mum wreck . Nothing worse than being told off by your mum as an adult Wink

em a little trip out each day is probably what you need to stay sane. Even if it's just a walk to get a newspaper/coffee/bar of chocolate. Good to keep moving and walking is meant to help towards getting baby on the way. When I had DD1, all the photos show me holding her with a sunburnt chest after a mammoth walk the day before.

Loveabaconsandwich · 19/09/2017 09:14

Hope you are feeling better today collie

I bribed DD2 into the pushchair this morning for the school run with the Smyths toy catalogue to read Blush . Made my life easier. seacow I normally find it easier to walk the whole school run too rather than parking half way and getting DC in and out the car. I even try to walk when it pours with rain as we get soaked anyway. It is good for the 10,000 steps too.

ememem84 · 19/09/2017 09:22

Waiting at the ante natal clinic now. TMI - I have just done the most disappointing wee for the midwife to check. Seriously. Barely any there. Which is ironic given the fact that I have to usually pee all the god damm time. Ha 🤣😭😂

£7.60 on a book of parking cards. Annoyingly my card wasnt authorised twice in the shop. Will have to keep an eye on whether I've been charged three times (it worked the third time).

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/09/2017 09:22

Wreck I had no idea that the senco could refer directly to audiology. I wonder what other magic powers they have?

Em Is it s bit quiet now you're at home? I found it quiet at this stage. This might be a time when you could make a few forays out to baby groups to meet a few new friends ahead of time. When ds is born they will be the people who will help you to solve problems as they are already in the thick of it, so it could be handy to make those links now.

Ds's teacher is going to watch his group of friends and see if she can make adjustments. She seems like a very sensible person. I'm feeling moderately hopeful about that.

ememem84 · 19/09/2017 09:29

sunny yeah it's a bit odd really. Although it shouldn't be because I've had time off on my own before so shouldn't really be stressed out by it usually I relish the time on my own.

Plan for today is to finish my appointment, pop by the bakery then go and have coffee with dm. I may go for a swim later. It's meant to be nice weather so might venture to the sea pool and have a nice safe enclosed sea swim, sea should still be warm enough. If it rains then I'll just go to the pool.

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 09:53

WinkWinkSmile

collie, ouch, poor you. Maybe try to drink as much water as you can until you see the GP.

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 09:57

Random smilies sorryConfused

100yearsdotcom · 19/09/2017 10:10

Collie Flowers
Copper, glad you're back, I'm having trouble keeping up too but like that there's so many lovely people chatting on here now.
Cag, I had similar problems with the GD advice but mainly cos I had contradictory advice from the same person who then tried to deny it! Dh got really angry with them as they basically stressed me out for the whole last month of my pregnancy. Keep going you're doing just fine!

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/09/2017 10:21

Cag is the main risk with GD that the baby ends up growing too big before birth?

CollieBobs · 19/09/2017 10:49

Em I also did a disappointing wee in a wee pot.

I have antibiotics now thank goodness. Which was £8 something. And Oreos were 54p. Tesco had some good offers. May shop there this week instead of Sainsburys.

The Sainsburys TU sale is on! X

Laska5772 · 19/09/2017 10:56

Yay Copper great you are back.
DGs 4.5yrs finally got a school place and starts today.. he is so excited but i cant believe hes at school. It doesnt seem 5mins since he was born. His mum sent me a first day in new uniform photo . I still have one i toom of his dad (Ds) on his first day so think ill put them in a frame together. ( sadly DS and Dgs mum split up before baby born but its great that i get to see dgs)

needastrongone · 19/09/2017 10:58

I think pre-eclampsia for the mother too, but don't quote me on that, I'm no expertSmile

Main risk larger bang though I think
