Cag yes I'm pretty sure those big fridges do have to be plumbed in.
NSD.

They're chicken sausages though Grin

Cagliostro · 08/08/2017 17:24

Ah that's a shame snuggy thank you for reply though. I suppose then you need a structural change in the house? I am clueless about plumbing and all that stuff. I'm not sure we could do that, certainly can't in this house anyway.

Also got a bath support chair on sale in boots, I know most manage without but it was a godsend with bathing the Caglets and I figured now more important than ever given the pain issues I have. It's virtually the same design too! £10.07 and signed up for new advantage card/baby club for extra points

Plus a few quid on chocolate for DH and wine gums and cherry tunes for me - goes to show I pay no attention sometimes, that's stupid isn't it? I just pay without thinking!

ememem84 · 08/08/2017 17:45

wreck no olives but I'm like cag and olives are rank.

cag we got a Moses basket off of Facebook selling page for £20. Barely used. I was amazed at how expensive they are for what, 3 months use?? Crazyness. I'm hoping to sell on though once we're done with it.

I emailed my boss today to ask whether any thing had been said re my mat leave. He said no. So hr haven't even discussed it with him!! Aaaaaah!!!

Have emailed all the nurseries here today though. For availability and price. The swanky naice "organic" one has availability and is suprisingly cheaper than others with less swank. About £400 a month cheaper. Still £1300 a month for full time but they have: beach school in summer, forest school in winter, a garden where they grow veggies, the kids go on trips twice a week, they report back to parents daily, a chef and all staff are 5 years childcare qualified as a minimum and all first aid trained. I've booked a tour for next week. We may not go for it but need to start investigating. The lady I spoke to/emailed guaranteed me that baby boy won't do anything important for the first time at nursery (Crawling, steps, words etc) they have a 100% track record of making sure these things "firsts" happen at the weekends. I know this is a lie but love how I was reassured

Hi! I'm desperately trying to be more frugal so I'm checking in. Going to Aldi for the weekly shop on Saturday so hoping to find loads of savings. No spending today or tomorrow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/08/2017 18:11

Welcome Mona, do you know what your spending triggers are? It's easier when you know where you went wrong before.

Mine was lack of planning & thinking I deserved treats all the time.

northender · 08/08/2017 18:26

Welcome Mona lots of support & advice and no judging here.
Em wow that's a lot of money but love the sound of the naice one!
Need that food looks amazing, we must search a bit harder this time in France, there must be some good, well priced food around. It isn't like we are in a tourist hotspot where we go.
HFW has a five ingredient book too. I have earned a free book request at the library (loyalty scheme, order 6 get one free) so I think I might go for the JO superfoods one.
Ds was at the Test match with his friends yesterday & has gone to football tonight & dd is at my mum's so peace reigns! I'm fully into holiday prep mode so will crack on now & post again later.

ememem84 · 08/08/2017 18:33

north I know. It's a ridiculous amount. But sadly that's average here. Nannies and childminders would be similar. Sigh but then you run the risk of them being sick and not being able to take baby so nursery is our best option.

I'm also going to have to tell work that I need to consider all my options (including leaving permenantly - which if they take any longer making a decision it may be my only option as places are going quick - however then legally this could be construed as constructive dismissal...)

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

ememem84 · 08/08/2017 18:33

On the plus side though NSD.

SnugglySnerd · 08/08/2017 19:04

Welcome, Mona!

Em DD1 does forest school at nursery. It's brilliant and she loves it.

Cag I don't know about all fridges but that is what we found when we bought ours last year. We ended up getting a fairly basic but quite large fridge freezer. It's good but the door keeps swinging shut while I'm looking for stuff/putting the shopping away which drives me mad!

Christmas I hope you have a better night tonight Flowers

My dc both do forest school weekly during term time and dd went to a forest school nursery. It sounds lovely em.

Ds had a massive meltdown before bed but is now asleep on me in bed.

Cagliostro · 08/08/2017 19:10

Forest school is great I think the more time little ones spend outside the better!

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/08/2017 19:15

Stark choice you've been left with em.

The 1000 nectar points for two pizzas/other main course ends tonight. Ecoupons valid until mid sept.

ChristmasSeacow · 08/08/2017 19:16

Cag we have one of those fridges and they do usually need to be plumbed in. Ours is but the plumbing was in place when we moved here. However, I think there might be versions where you can fill a reservoir.

Sunny I gave wondered about food intolerance but her bowels seem normal so I think it is gas /reflux / colic. We have our 6-week check on Thursday so I will discuss with the gp then, hope he can help!

I don't actually mind the lack of sleep as much as the piercing crying and having to hold her /walk about all the time. I hate her being so distressed and I hate not ever getting anything done Sad. It's just a phase, right?

Lunch at a friend's today so no spends there. Otherwise, just ant killer and a new bath thermometer on amazon

Cagliostro · 08/08/2017 19:24

Thanks seacow where is it plumbed in? Like a pipe coming out of the wall or something? I am really showing my ignorance here 😂😳

ememem84 · 08/08/2017 19:28

It'll all work out. It has to. They don't want me to leave. I know this. I've said I need to "consider all options" which is true.

I'm all for kids being outside and you know, being kids. Forest school sounds awesome.

WreckTangled · 08/08/2017 19:35

Ds loves being outside, dd does if it's not cold. It was raining earlier and ds got a wet bum on the slide. He came indoors and changed into his swimming shorts then went back out again Grin

SnugglySnerd · 08/08/2017 20:26

DD loves being outside too, the muddier the better. DH took her to a local nature reserve today and she came back plastered in mud. Apparently she fell flat on her face and enjoyed it so much she did it again!

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/08/2017 20:27

Nsd all week so far. Won't last, need to top up tomorrow

ChristmasSeacow · 08/08/2017 21:41

Cag there's a piece of pipe coming out of the wall (in our kitchen it is hidden in the back of the adjacent cupboard). There is a small tap thing on it so it can be turned off if not attached to a fridge; there is then a piece of narrow plastic tubing coming out which is what we attach to the fridge inlet.

DD has stopped crying a bit earlier tonight. Maybe I'll get more than 3 hours sleep? Thanks for the sympathy everyone!

Totally agree about forest school, DS does it with his nursery and loves it. I want to find out how I can keep taking him when he stops nursery

CremeEggThief · 08/08/2017 23:17

Some schools offer forest school sessions, Seacow. Hope you have a better night.

Went out for a pub meal with my friend. We had mains, desserts, coffee/tea and a soft drink each for £30.95, so split it half and half. Great value and a good catch-up too.Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/08/2017 06:30

Yesterday spends
£19 Amazon on shampoo and Rainbows t shirt for DD

Got £12 of credit for valued opinions surveys for the first month of a three month survey. Managed to get a £15 Amazon voucher. Also cashed out £10 from TCB

My kids love the outside too. DD2 howled at the back door yesterday for ages as it was too wet to go out.

em hopefully your boss will give HR a prod now for you. So infuriating. But wow the nursery cost!

NSD so far... but it is only 6.30am

Cagliostro · 09/08/2017 06:57

Thanks Seacow :)

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/08/2017 07:12

NSD lasted 30 minutes. Now have a Brew

It's cold and wet here

SnugglySnerd · 09/08/2017 07:18

Christmas the Wildlife Trust offer similar type sessions and they are cheap. They do them for all different ages, after school and in the hols. Look at their website to find your local centre.
