Yes agree on see through leggings, just NO! On any size. I have some bigger size ones in lieu of maternity stuff but I made sure they are thick material and they are worn under tunics/dresses. Nobody needs to see my enormous knickers :o

LonelyOversharer · 30/06/2017 12:30

I've never been leggingsy. I only have one pair of jeggings, and a size too big now, they still try to chop me in half. I had under-bump jeans for dd2 and 3, sold them on ebay (never say you're not having more dc unless you really mean it), and was never as comfy again with ds! But I had a knee length strapless dress that was all stretchy eleastic from the waist up, which I wore as a maxi skirt which was bliss.

I forgot my purse today, but need onions, so it will be a lsd.

Had the meeting with dd2's form tutor today, for secondary school. She was nervous and very weepy this morning. I think she feels a bit better now. girlie I hope your dd has a better day. It's such a hard time for them, on the cusp of puberty and changing schools. My dd just keeps weeping when truly daft things go wrong, like her swimmers not being in her swim bag yet, it took me ten seconds to fix, yet she wept for 10 minutes. I always say it, but why can't people just be nice especially to our amazing dc

SnugglySnerd · 30/06/2017 12:58

Thanks, Waitresses that's really good to know. I think I'll try it next week.

I kind of agree about leggings except that they were the best thing after my c sections as they didn't rub. Also with baby sick and all the bleeding postpartum something that can be washed and dried quickly is essential. I also wore them instead of tights when pregnant as they were more comfy.

ememem84 · 30/06/2017 12:59

Cheese ham and pineapple toastie for lunch. Dh paid. Yay!! 🐖🧀🍍

Have ordered a new a pair of jeans from new Look £23. Only three actual shops here stock maternity wear. And of those there is a limited amount. 👖

SnugglySnerd · 30/06/2017 13:18

Em I live in a massive city and only 3 shops stock a tiny amount of maternity wear. Most of it is online. It drove me mad that I couldn't try things on.
Why have I never thought of putting pineapple in a toastie? That sounds delicious.

Cagliostro · 30/06/2017 13:27

Yes I get annoyed at the lack of in-store maternity stuff too. I don't like buying clothes online at the best of times TBH but I'm even more desperate to try stuff on when my shape is changing!

Mummysh0rtlegs · 30/06/2017 13:34

Thanks for the get well thoughts for Wilf, GP says just gastro and could go on for another two weeks! I'll be in bits by then.

Went to Aldi and spent £33 on this weeks shop, but had £20 off budget cash so that was good.

We were going out tomorrow for our wedding anniversary but have cancelled, we will get a chinese and rent a movie on the TV so saving some money.

Snug - I can't believe he is going to be 2, I thought years went fast with the first one, but not a patch on this!

Working 24 hours this week (I am a freelance web research data entry person, so I have no childcare costs), 28 hours every week in July. I am just watching the money come in and going into our long term pots :)

Loveabaconsandwich · 30/06/2017 13:36

I hadn't worn leggings for about 15 years until pregnancy. I was about to say I haven't worn them since, but then noticed my favourite PJs I was mooching around the house in are pretty much leggings but with Minnie Mouse on them Blush

I definitely noticed between DD1 and DD2 pregnancies that the amount of maternity clothes in the shops had decreased. Nearly all online and I agree with cag at that point you want to try it on

Spent £10 on curry and sides in M&s. Cheaper than a takeaway and more relaxing than going to Tesco 😎

DD2 is asleep on the sofa

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2017 13:59

Don't worry Bacon, my pjs have rudolphs on them. Dh calls them paedo pjs.

Shortlegs That sounds excellent. 4 day week with no child cares fab.

£10 fuel
£35 BBQ stuff for tm Shock
£8 sunscreen from superdrug. I only buy bunny friendly.

£29 shoes returned to shoeaholics
Keeping the H&m sandals but exchanged for a better colour, I have £15 cashback coming soon so it's £2 for both pairs when it's all rinsed out.

Made £26 match betting.

Cagliostro · 30/06/2017 14:08

Blimey Mummy hopefully they have wildly overestimated the length of this bug! Did Wilf cope ok with the lack of x-ray? Bless him :) data entry sounds like the kind of thing I'd enjoy doing at home, I have no idea how one gets into that sort of job though.

Must go do laundry as DD spilled food on her brand new dinosaur jammies. Obviously Hmm

WreckTangled · 30/06/2017 14:13

Covea have written to me saying they understand the complaint is resolved and I'm satisfied with the outcome. Er no you dipshits I'm not. Have emailed them to say as much.

£5 tesco
£5 charity shop.

Finally got to the bank to pay in money from my birthday two weeks ago only to find it was closed Angry I bloody hate cheques. The banks round here are never open its such a nightmare.

I'm home now and could tidy etc but I'm just enjoying the peace.

I have leggings but I wear them instead of tights.

Mummy I can't believe he's nearly two either! Hope wilf makes a speedy recovery.

Hopefully the childminder has a bill for me so I can work out what I have left for the month. It's going to be expensive I'm so busy over the next....forever!

There might be an opportunity in the future for me to do a foundation degree paid for by the trust. Not sure I'm clever enough though Blush
*
Cag* feel like I haven't spoken to you for ages. So...hi!

Need my friend is running 100k tomorrow Blush

WreckTangled · 30/06/2017 14:14

Oh stupid thing. Not sure how the bold messed up as I didn't click the stars just used the bold option Hmm

ememem84 · 30/06/2017 16:50

I said to dh I might treat myself to a naice pair of track pants or some "lounge wear" haha!!

snuggly it has to be tinned pineapple. And strong cheddar. Yum. And naice ham.

After work drinks tonight. May have a lovely cold wine. 🍷 I'm finding I'm ok tiredwise until 1030. Then I go to bed and crash out and sleep until about 6am.

Rugby tomorrow morning. On tv. Not playing haha! Looking forward to the match.

Cagliostro · 30/06/2017 17:00

Hi wreck! that's exciting about the foundation degree, awesome opportunity :) And I bet you would be clever enough, don't put yourself down!

Right, ballet run time! Yaaaay

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/06/2017 18:27

Hi all, thanks for the support re dd Smile agree this seems quite a tricky age, all the hormones but non of the maturity about sums it up! I rang the school and requested the teacher ring me but she didn't Angry will have to chase up next week. That said dd seems to have had a better day today, can't believe how bitchy girls can be already though Shock

Have just paid the window cleaner £10 no other spends and will be a LSW as working all wend!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2017 18:29

Degrees aren't that hard Wreck. The jump to masters is worse.

Sunny apparently morrisons, Tesco & Argos have cool box offers on.

Em Sauvignon blanc?

ememem84 · 30/06/2017 18:48

fluffy absolutely. A lovely crisp cold nz Sauvignon. My absolute favourite. Or from Chile. But don't tell dh.

We're home now. Arancini are in the oven and we have garlic bread and frazzles. classy and sparkling apple juice.

SnugglySnerd · 30/06/2017 19:13

80p on nappy bags. Local chemist which I had to go to anyway wouldn't let me pay for them on my card. Had no cash so had to traipse all the way to Tesco metro. This is all because Aldi didn't have any last night. At least I'm getting some very much-needed exercise!

Coppersulphate · 30/06/2017 21:42

Girlie, glad your DD had a better day. Their hormones seem to be kicking in earlier these days.
Fluffy you are doing really well with that matched betting.
Sunny, can we have a picture of the tent....not if you don't want to, I just love tents.
NSD
Been accepted at new bank. So will make £100.

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2017 04:19

Fluffy where do you get the idea that Degrees aren't hard? Shock

Wreck that's great that you might get to do that. What is a foundation degree?

I'm chuffed today as I just heard that I got my science research grant. It's a £1000 equipment grant to build robots stuff at home so there will be fun to be had.

WreckTangled · 01/07/2017 07:34

Sunny it's worth 2/3rds of a full honours degree but is still a degree level qualification. It's part academic and part work place learning.

I'm going to lidl this morning as Dh isn't working for once. Then it's the school fair and then it's dh's aunts annual family BBQ 😴😴

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/07/2017 08:12

There not though, it's a course designed for 18 yo who don't know how to use a washing machine. The older people on our course got much better degrees than the ones straight from school.

I wouldn't have fancied a masters.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/07/2017 08:23

Great news on the grant sunny and if you will find it fun then that's even better

wreck definitely do the degree if you can fit it in. I think learning and development is so important and it may help open other doors in the future too. If you don't have to pay for it then it's an added bonus

SunnyLikeThursday · 01/07/2017 08:24

Gosh, Fluffy I think you must have done a different course from me. I did know how to use a washing machine, but it wasn't a major help with reading an 18" thick pile of academic research papers and memorising the contents and that was only a small part of the last year.

Wreck there's a thing in Scotland called an ordinary degree which is probably a bit like the thing you're talking about. It's definitely worth having but would be a lot of work . Probably be good to find out what's involved.

We had a bunch of people came into our degree course at 3rd year level from an access course that was meant to have got them up to scratch to join us. They said it didn't prepare them remotely for what hit them at University and one did the whole last two years of our course and left with a fail.

Definitely good to read the small print and talk to people who've actually worked right through what you're proposing to do before you commit time and money and energy. If you're up for it, it would probably be very enjoyable though.

ememem84 · 01/07/2017 08:33

I'm with fluffy on this. Although it depends on the degree subject obviously. I'd have found a science/maths/engineering based degree impossible. im more suited to the "fluffier" subjects (as my friend puts it) - English, languages, psych etc.

The jump from school to degree wasn't that much. It was the motivation to study I struggled with. Older people seemed to do much much better. Degree to masters ....eeeek much much tougher. Essentially that's what I have with my degree and my law quals.

Went to bed at 930 last night. Dh said he came in with a tea at 945 and I was fast asleep. Woke up at 8.

Final riding lesson today. Sad face. But wil have weekends free for a bit until baby boy arrives at any rate for just me and dh. We're going to be a bit unfrugal and go to the nice places for lunches, and do things just us while we can.
