Em Hope you are not getting the cold!

Cag Haha, your baby is keeping us all in suspense!

I haven't caught up other than this page folks.

Seacow Obv no breastfeeding experience here but I have no doubt that whatever you do with it your kids will both be fine and you are doing a great job Smile so try not to worry too much.

I know nothing about curtains either I'm afraid. I have never had to buy curtains or blinds or anything yet lol. It's funny how even at 23 there is a lot of 'adult' first-time things I am still yet to do, and compared to lots of my friends who still live at home I live a much more 'mature' lifestyle than them in terms of those types of boring, adult life experiences. But still not curtains yet!

Was supposed to go into town for a bit of shopping and to get threaded and possibly volunteer feeding the homeless, but I'm not sure if the feed is on this evening and can't get in touch with the organiser, and my anxiety is spiralling out of control so think will just be kind to myself and forget about it all now. Sigh. On the plus side, that means today should be an NSD. Maybe I will go for a little walk to for half an hour just to get some of this nice sun because I need to post a letter too.

Girlie The closet small supermarket to my MIL is Farmfoods and when DH still lived there and I used to stay over a lot, we used do a lot of the grocery shopping there and it is usually great value and super cheap. And I'm really sorry to hear about the dog Sad.

ChristmasSeacow · 05/07/2017 15:03

Thanks for all the nice messages about bf, it really does make me feel a bit better, thanks! Lonely, DD is still feeding from me but with nipple shields (so she thinks it's a bottle). But she is getting frustrated more easily as the milk flow slows and her appetite increases, which is why I think the race will soon be lost! I am very sorry about it because I now know what it feels like to bf and it is lovely (having got through the pain barrier!) but it's not life or death. I have friends who have not been able to have children and they would give anything to be in my position so I just count my blessings.

Girlie granny is in south Devon. We normally stay in Torbay area (not Torquay itself though).

It does sound as though you are having a bad day. Sorry to hear about your car - is it not going to be cost effective to fix it?

DD and I got out of the house by 9.30am today (out of necessity obviously - mw weight check). But still, high five me! Now home, tidied up and done with the token health visitor visit... this would be the perfect time to nap except that the cleaner is turning up any minute. DD also pulling poo faces.

One of my ears is completely blocked with wax (tmi) so I am going to have to put drops in. But I don't think I can aim them without being able to see the side of my head! This may be interesting...

SnugglySnerd · 05/07/2017 15:53

Girlie we get loads of vouchers through the door for Farmfoods despite living nowhere near one. Anyway I decided to try it a few weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent for frozen fruit and veg and branded stuff like Magnums and fish fingers. They also have massive value packs of things like cereal and looked roll. I will be going back.

89p today on milk. Having a lovely day again. Saw some friends this morning. Walked to their house and back while the babies napped. They are now napping again while DD1 plays in the garden. So far we've played at chasing bubbles, watering the plants and making patterns on the patio with a squeezy bottle of water. It is so much easier and cheaper to entertain her when the weather's nice.

mammymammyIRL · 05/07/2017 16:11

I need to write a long post catching up with everyone but work & home life are hectic this week. Grin

Why are there loads of lovely dresses from floraday on my mumsnet screen? Angry

I've had hardly any spends this week - tonight we're going to a play 'The Field' performed locally, tickets are €10 each & there's probably not any refreshments served, except maybe a can of diet coke so it'll be low spend.

WreckTangled · 05/07/2017 16:15

Oh no girlie that sucks. Poor ddog. Does your trust do a lease scheme like mine? I've got all the paperwork just need my manager to sign it off.

It's really hot here today.

Coppersulphate · 05/07/2017 16:44

Sunny, a friend demonstrated 3D printing to me and I still do not believe it is possible. He made cogs out of white powder. It is magic.
Wreck, sorry about your car. They always go wrong just when you can't afford it. Mine is playing up....the door won't open, then it won't lock, then the MPG counter jumped to 90 miles per gallon. As if? It will have to go in on Monday.
Not all private dentists are better the NHS dentists. I had both and the NHS was so much better. In fact DP sued one of the private ones. You will get a feel for what is best for your DS.
Seacow, I had to give up on BF after 3 weeks. Both DCs are now healthy grown ups. As long as DD is fed and cuddled she will be fine. Give yourself a break. You are doing great.

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/07/2017 16:53

Thanks Copper. I think I am going to enjoy 3D printing.

We went to the NHS dentist today with instructions to get on to the list for a GA for ds. One of the private dentists is also NHS and would be the person he would be sent to for the GA, so she told me what to say.

The NHS guy today said ds's tooth looks fine and doesn't need a referral. After two months on a waiting list and all that trouble, I honestly nearly fell over at the massive contradiction between them.

He is going to do the referral anyway just in case we need it, as the process is going to take 5 months.

After that a felt a bit dumbfounded by the day and was honestly wondering what makes the world so weird.

Then I was playing with ds in the playground after school and met a lady with 5 year old triplets. One of them was so premature that she needs to be fed liquid food down a pipe straight through her abdomen, which the Mum was doing, right there in the playground.

It gave me helpful perspective on our own situation. Some people really have huge challenges don't they?

I'm still pretty confused about dentistry though.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/07/2017 17:37

Snuggly did you do an online farm foods shop? I have had a leaflet through the door with vouchers as well.

Seacow Torbay and the surrounding area is really lovely, my friend loves Brixam (?sp) I haven't been but it looks beautiful and I think isn't too far from there.

I am still waiting to hear from the garage re the car, am trying not to think about how much it will cost. The dog is really poorly, they are keeping him in the vets Sad

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/07/2017 18:34

Car going to cost £600 Sad Sad Sad gutted.

WreckTangled · 05/07/2017 18:43

Girlie that's shit you have my sympathies

We have a brand new Aldi and I'm going to go after work Friday...what should I be getting?! I'm quite excited.

CremeEggThief · 05/07/2017 18:54

Aw sorry to hear that about the dog AND the car, Girlie. You're having a tough time lately.

SnugglySnerd · 05/07/2017 18:54

Girlie there is a Farmfoods nr where my mum lives so I went on the way back from visiting her. Sorry to hear about car and dog.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/07/2017 19:26

Ah girlie that's shit. Both car and dog.

Have you tried recently with out the nipple Shields. Your supply will adjust to demand of you are able to persevere with bf.

Naughty em. So accident prone.

That's mad you have had such different dentist consultantations.

Wreck baking stuff, tinned stuff, cereal, bivvies and chocolate. Ours is rubbish for fresh stuff lasting more than a couple of days. Cooked meat, cheese, bacon, yogurts, washing up liquid, crisps
Must be more, will think,

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/07/2017 19:27

£41 sainsbury.

I keep looking at farm food but just thought it was cheap shit. I may look again

northender · 05/07/2017 19:34

Oh Girlie cars are just money pits sometimes.
Wreck I just read back a bit, is it the Assistant Practitioner training you are going to do? I'm mentoring one of our staff who is doing that at the moment.
Re aldi, I get most things there, I find it great for good quality ingredients. Cooked meats, salami, chorizo etc are good & wine, definitely wine! Haven't had any for ages though due to health kick.

Good day here, got the concert tickets we wanted for the venue we wanted too so that's something to look forward to (November). £60 which seems a lot now but we have a concerts and football pot in our budget.
Dh got a small top up shop of summer fruit and such like at Aldi, not sure how much he spent.
Don't think I updated at the weekend about my weight, good news, I lost another 2kg which is my monthly target so I'm very happy with that. Been to the gym tonight, had a reasonable session but just felt devoid of energy so not as good as I'd have liked.

WreckTangled · 05/07/2017 19:37

North not doing it but could be a possibility in the future...

Coppersulphate · 05/07/2017 19:57

I use ALDI for cheese and fish. Their salmon is very good I find. And I like their fishcakes. Biscuits and crackers, yogurt also good.
Oh dear Girlie, so,sorry you are having a terrible time. As soon as you get sorted out, something else happens.

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/07/2017 19:58

Another splendid Beavering night. Such amazing fun for no money. Smile

Loveabaconsandwich · 05/07/2017 20:38

I almost missed my connecting train earlier as I was so engrossed in reading this thread! Then I wrote a post and then my internet cut out whilst commuting Sad

meadow in my mind, I thought you were late 20s. Funny how you imagine people who you only know through the internet and then things change with more info

£30 booking a five day intensive swimming course for DD1 in the holiday
£5 in subway BlushBlush

My very dull Health and safety type course in boiling weather a couple of weeks ago appears to have paid off, in that I may have an excuse to work from home a bit more as I can then go off and visit local mini offices on those days.

girlie a truly rubbish few days. Cars are just so expensive as they age. We've had years of maintaining older cars, I dread to think how much it adds up to.

sunny you are so right. Some families do have some truly difficult things to deal with and seacow yes we are so lucky to be able to have our children

fluffy I haven't managed to qualify for many VO surveys much this last week or so. Do you ever get paid out for the surveys where you have to go back and fill in a diary type one? I've done two recently and don't think I've had anything credited. I still need to look at matched betting but waiting for life to calm down a bit before taking it on

thewaitresses · 05/07/2017 20:48

Will read properly later.... just wanted to commiserate on the car girlie. Ours has cost £400 today (and we had to say no to paying another £200 to fix the wing mirror 😡) got home from paying that and the washing machine I was complaining about yesterday flooded the kitchen - another £250 for an emergency new one 😩

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/07/2017 20:58

Girlie I'm so sorry, poor dog must feel so poorly.

Bacon Email them, they'll credit you then.

LonelyOversharer · 05/07/2017 21:22

girlie wow thats a lot for the car. I hate mot's. Neither of our cars ever pass them. And your poor dads dog. I do hope he turns the corner x

Just stupidly pedalled home from a club training thing. 12 miles uphill. What was I thinking? The trade off was an hour child free!

One of dd1's teachers at parents evening said, "thanyou for putting dd1 in this school, so I could teach her" I thought that was lovely.

I only bought a bkackout blind for the girls room today (planned, was just waiting to pass an argos) and some pouches of supergrains and butternut squash noodles from m&s for lunch (I took leftover chicken from home too). So about £23 all in.

Loveabaconsandwich · 05/07/2017 21:28

That is a bad day too the waitresses Flowers

Have just emailed them fluffy . Just wondering if it is worth doing those types of surveys in future if it means I have to diarise chasing up the missing rewards. So extra work iyswim

SnugglySnerd · 05/07/2017 21:46

Aggh! Have been sitting in the garden with a beer and have just remembered umpteen things I should have done this evening including ordering curtains for the babies' room. You wouldn't think I'd had almost a year to do that!
