ChristmasSeacow · 12/06/2017 21:29

Welcome Dotcom. I am sorry your pregnancy /labour has left you less able-bodied than before. You sound very balanced about it all. I hope things are going well with the baby anyway - sounds as though you are entering a new era all round which may be a positive!

Cag I feel for you, I know that sinking feeling too well. TBH I don't really know much about what is classed as a learning difficulty and what is not, in the context of ASD /neurodisability... However, what strikes me is that you've seen your DD's confidence grow since you started home ed (the odd setback from nasty kids is unavoidable unless you never go out!) and she and DS are engaged and interested in the world, and learning well. She may have some difficulties but you and she have obviously done a great job of adjusting how you work together, maybe without even realising. You have the great advantage of understanding your children pretty well, which many of us SN parents don't have. You are doing a great job. As someone upthread said, take the opportunity to Marshall all your questions before the next appointment and consider that the Ed Psych might offer some useful pointers. Chin up Flowers

I had a call about DS's EHCP today - we are now in week 23 of the 20-week statutory deadline for completion Confused. They have decided to send the NHS therapists' inadequate reports back to the NHS for revision. Which is what I asked for 3 weeks ago, so not sure what they've been doing in the meantime. One silver lining: they are obviously so far behind that I won't be getting a revised draft in the next 2 weeks. So at least I can push this baby out without a highlighter pen in my hand.

I have been unfrugal bad today Blush. I paid £75 to have the car completely valeted outside my house. 2 men in a van came and spent 2 hours of hard work on it and it looks brand new. I usually clean it myself inside and out but haven't done for a year months. The outside wasn't too bad but the inside was dusty and sandy and covered in fingerprints etc and 'bits' where DH has been taking things to the tip. They would have done a quicker and cheaper clean but I thought I'd go full monty - they even buffed up all the minor scratches on the outside with something miraculous so they have disappeared. And it smells lush. I want to just sit in it. Now we can bring baby home in a lovely clean car Smile.

Other than that just £8 top up to get fruit and sausages for DS.

Oh, that's not true... I had to order 2 bras because the only 2 that fit me have both busted their underwires in the last week. I am not supposed to be wearing underwires but my boobs are so massive it's pretty much impossible not to. I buy the same bravissimo bra all the time as it's the only one that is a good fit, in my extensive experience.

Gawd, good job I've been earning recently Shock. Back to proper frugal after the baby (when I can bend down and do my own chores).

Laska5772 · 12/06/2017 21:41

copper thanks for posting cards. Our local sainsburys still had quite few albums last week , Ill look when I am in tomorrow

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/06/2017 21:41

£3.29 100 nail art false nails on sticks.

I'm sorry Bacon I know you hate your commute Sad

Cagliostro · 12/06/2017 21:53

Thanks so much everyone. I do feel a bit better now :)

Seacow I'm the same with bras, stick with what I know! I'm sad because my boobs are feeling too big for my bras now (never happened in my previous pregnancy, this time I've had the tingling/soreness etc). So will have to get fitted at some point. I can't remember if you will be BFing but I have heard you can now get underwired nursing bras!!! I nearly cried when I read that because I absolutely hated wearing non-wired. Apparently it's some kind of more flexible thing that still gives good support.

Coppersulphate · 12/06/2017 21:54

Thanks Need

100yearsdotcom · 12/06/2017 21:57

Thanks for all the further welcomes and thanks especially Christmas that's very sweet of you to say. I think it sounds as if you deserve your valet! x
Thanks also fluffy for the bank switch advice. I'll check MSE, must admit I was a bit nervous about how quickly it will be done...

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/06/2017 21:58

Evening all

Cag bit rubbish they told you that but not given you more information or support, not surprised you're upset. You are a wonderful mum Star and your kids are lucky to have you.

Welcome Dot Smile

I have had a busy Monday, work was hectic although looked as if it should have been o.kay! Dd had her maths lesson tonight which was £10 and then for some reason had a complete melt down when we got home. She sobbed and sobbed about wanting a dog Sad its been something she has wanted for so long but I still don't feel ready for!!

Maybe in another 6 months once dd is settled in secondary school....

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/06/2017 22:05

Oh Laska thank you for asking, her face is much better, the scabs on her top lip have already come off Shock kids heal up so fast!

Cagliostro · 12/06/2017 22:05

Pregnancy hunger is expensive. I just edited DH's tesco order for tomorrow because my friend mentioned she was eating NikNaks and I was like OMFG now I need them. And then I added coconut because yum

LonelyOversharer · 12/06/2017 22:06

seacow underwires are a must! I was sort of body concious/miserable for all my bf time with dd1 and 2 because of hideous bras - by dd3 I decided the advice was crap!! My only fitting bra no longer fits, am clearly a half cup size now, so I folded a tuck in the cups and stitched it down along the wires yesterday! I think this counts as frugal. It looks much better.

I had a churn in the boxes in my storage disaster bedroom today. Didn't find the circular knitting needle I was looking for, but did find the longer clipper blade to trim the dog with, the shorts pattern I was just about to replace, my good tweezers and a jumper I've not seen since the winter!

laska granny squares are the best! And the limit to my crochet! I can also do 'ears' on my mice etc. I cannot follow a pattern, although I have a board of cute crochet things on pintrest I'll not manage to make.

Welcome dotcom the first post is a plunge isn't it? Especially if you've been reading the threads and feel like you know all the folk on here! I read about 3 full threads before I managed to post on it. But you're very welcome here.

Just spent £1.98 on 2 songs, I listen to music all the time and fancied a couple of new songs.

ememem84 · 12/06/2017 22:21

lonely iTunes is one of my "pocket money" treats. I've allowed myself £15 a month to spend on music. Some months I do. Some I don't. Last purchases were greatest hits of zac brown band, and cool rider from grease 2.

Saturday £66 in the beauty parlour, but DH had left £40 there for me so £26. I usually get a local business discount, but the boss wasn't in, and I didn't feel I coukd ask for it. £22 in Tiger, on various bits, but included moustaches for costumes so today I got £4 of it back. Used DH's car and his business permit to avoid paying for parking.

£6 for ribbon and fabric glue for costume for DD1.

AuditAngel · 12/06/2017 22:31

Sunday MIL paid for my petrol. She had offered to pay for the ingredients for lunch. £34

Today £4.50 for lunch. Got back £18 for brand new dance shoes I sold on. Paid £14.40 for new dance tights for DD1. She has had the same 2 pairs of ran tights since she started 3 years ago (only wear them for shows) so we get value for the, but she has grown

AuditAngel · 12/06/2017 22:50

See received a overly postcard from DS's school praising him for his hard work and excellent exam result.

Coppersulphate · 12/06/2017 22:51

Just applied to change bank, inspired by Fluffy's remark. Thanks Fluffy. Went on MSE and am hoping to change to HSBC. I banked with them years ago.

Cagliostro · 12/06/2017 23:03

You've reminded me I need to update my payment card on iTunes! I spend some of my pocket money on apps/music. Although I can't do apps ATM because my phone memory is inexplicably full, half the time it won't even let me take photos. My friend just introduced me to a Canadian band called Walk Off The Earth and they are pretty cool. Nice happy music which is definitely needed today!

100yearsdotcom · 12/06/2017 23:18

Aww lonely thanks! That's so true - took a big breath before plunging in! Grin
Btw I loved your solar system quilt, it was amazing! Star

LonelyOversharer · 12/06/2017 23:22

cag check your cache and clear it if you haven't done it for a while. My phone (galaxy s3!!) is so old it doesn't take updates anymore, but it's camera is ace, and I filled the memory up yesterday at the zoo. Have you an sd card in it? If so transfer all you can onto it, especially photos, as they use huge amounts of the internal memory. I moved about 600 photos yesterday, and it's all working again!

Cagliostro · 13/06/2017 00:03

Thanks!

It's an iPhone so no SD, not a new model but still gets updates. Photos I move across (although not as often as I should) but it just always says memory full. I have deleted virtually all apps, I used to have tons on there (and on my previous iPhone) so I don't think it's that.

Errrrm what's a cache Blush is it the thing when opened apps keep running? I didn't know about that until I'd had my old phone for like a year Blush but now I do clear it often.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/06/2017 06:10

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/06/2017 06:19

5am awakening here with DD2. She's gone back to sleep but I haven't as my hay fever has kicked in

It's frustrating fluffy to keep on commuting but i'll just have to continue updating you all with the joy of my journeys for now Grin . At least I don't do it 5 days a week

Expecting a spendy food shop today as DP for once has written a list of all the essentials missing from the cupboards rather than expecting me to be a mind reader and know what to buy

ChristmasSeacow · 13/06/2017 07:24

UNDERWIRED NURSING BRAS, YOU SAY?!

I have just had a google, biggest one I can find is a J cup which I doubt will fit me. Might go up a back size and try it as my soft ones don't fit properly either anyway (same problem). I am resigned to medium term bra misery but underwired misery would be loads better. Can't stand soft cup triangular boobs pointing under my armpits Hmm

Bras are a serious expense for me as I have very little choice and they don't seem to last long Confused

DS slept very badly and hence we all did. Grr. Today is the big push to finish work, it might be a late night but I am determined to despatch it and be done with! I think snacks will be involved, copious snacks.
