Laska5772 · 11/05/2017 22:09

sorry.. I should be posting those in Style and beauty..not the Frugal thread...I am just a bad influence.. but then I never said I was good!

Ayway am off to bed now.. x

mammymammyIRL · 11/05/2017 22:30

Well done lonely
I've been reading all your posts while lounging in an Epsom salts bath.
Dc were in bed happily when I got it & then ds3 put dd7 crying, I knew dh had come back into house so I just left them & he never went over to them at all Angry they've settled now.

I bought 5 pairs of runners for running on Littlewoods- I will only keep one pair though.

I love the heels need
Dh suggested we go out for dinner sat eve & we'd book somewhere tonight. I asked him to calm down when he made dd cry while I was checking her spellings with her & he stormed off Angry I'm guessing this is what was wrong with her when she went to bed too.
I hope he's going to counselling tomo eve because it'll be a tough weekend otherwise.

Two friends coming for drinks at mine tomo night. I've got wine in so it won't cost me a thing GrinWine
Need I love the dress
Laska is yours a shift style dress?

LonelyOversharer · 11/05/2017 22:33

Loving the dresses and shoes' links. Will get lots of pop ups! I'm really crap at buying me clothes, hence making a dress. Luckily this is only the third 'smart' event in 8 years I must calm it down!

Wow those horsies are pricey!

My dd1 is about a 34ff/g, so needs some construction! I'll take her to debenhams, and have promised her that if it's awful we'll leave not without a fitting bra we're not I also need to get dd2&3 shoes, the poor things have school shoes, pe trainers and wellies! All unsuitable for a ver posh christening.

Ds is still up dp has had a nap though. Time to put my stern mummy hat on and sort them out.

Pic of best quiche recipie. Ever. As you can see, the page is a tad worn.

Fluffys frugaleer thread. All welcome.
LonelyOversharer · 11/05/2017 22:35

mammymammyIRL · 11/05/2017 22:53

Lonely my dc are the same - school shoes, trainers, crocs for dd, ds probably has two pairs of boots, runners & crocs.
Recently got dd these trainers & they're what she wears with dresses now. All winter she had her black school shoes with dresses. She's hard to buy shoes for.

mammymammyIRL · 11/05/2017 22:56

No lunches made, bootcamp at 6.30am arrgh it'll be another rushed morning Grin

LonelyOversharer · 11/05/2017 22:56

Was thinking dd3 might go for some plims mammy Those look nice. Think she'd like those gold ones need has!

mammymammyIRL · 11/05/2017 23:14

They're so cute but we live near beach & I'm trying to keep her from wearing them there

MeadowHay · 11/05/2017 23:21

Lonely I usually get fitted at Debenhams, I've always had good experiences there and took my sister there years ago for her first ever fitting.

Bacon I finish uni this year yes, and I work in my SU in a job reserved for students at the uni so my contract also ends when I finish my studies. Term ends towards the end of June so I guess then-ish. I will miss it, it's been a fun job with lovely colleagues. But I might end up doing something similar when we relocate as lots of universities in the city the area I'm moving to and admin jobs are common there.

Did I tell you guys I didn't get invited to the assessment centre for the graduate programme I applied to btw? I found out a few weeks ago. Sad I'm on the reserve list and find out early June if I'm going to get an invite if people dropped out but I'm not holding my breath. Disappointing but I probably couldn't even hack full-time work anyway so maybe for the best. But that does mean as soon as I finish my exams I need to start a job-app frenzy, sigh, as I have nothing lined up now, which financially is a worry Confused. But need to focus on exams first.

I have my French oral exam tomorrow. I was in a right state about it but I have practiced and practiced so it should go ok-ish. DH gets to come and sit in the room with me as a 'reasonable adjustment' for my anxiety disorder, which will make me feel much much better. Wish me luck!

Spends today: £2.10 on a hot chocolate at an activist meeting I went to. So LSD.

Sunny I don't think I'd trust DH enough to cut my hair. He's pretty good at stuff like that (good coordination and that) but I think hair cutting might be a bit far Grin.

Quorn vegan 'chicken' nuggets are nowhere near as good as the normal vegetarian ones which is a shame.

mammymammyIRL · 12/05/2017 06:22

Dread to think how sore I would be this morning if I hadn't had Epsom salts bath Hmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/05/2017 06:53

Good luck mammy.
I like the dress laska.
Need it will be fine. Delegate hostess duties to a friend with a key if needs be then everyone can arrive and you can make a grand entrance

WreckTangled · 12/05/2017 06:59

Laska I have small hands too and small nails.

Only working until one today then picking up the shopping at tesco.

Cagliostro · 12/05/2017 07:03

Hi. Haven't caught up with thread, didn't get on yesterday as long story short(ish) spent much of the day crying as has DD. DD's friend has been no friend to her - totally railroading her, teasing, and lying. She has massive form for this but her mum just will not see it. They've lost so many friends but whenever someone has enough they are turned into the bad guy. DD's turn now. Looking at it practically I was somewhat expecting this and TBH DD has felt for a while that this girl isn't nearly so nice as she thought. Time to back away more (it has to be done subtly though or again DD comes off worse). DD has lots of good healthy friendships. The other girl doesn't. Which is sad but it's not DD's responsibility to keep getting clobbered emotionally. Or mine. Lots of people have been backing away from the mum too due to her complete unwillingness to accept any blame on her DD's part. I wish I'd seen the light earlier. I'm absolutely devastated.

Unfrugal day - let's just say I now truly understand why people say they need a holiday to get over the stress of their holiday!

SunnyLikeThursday · 12/05/2017 07:21

Copper Not yet, but soon I hope. They are just proof reading it all and checking that everything fits.

Laska Your fashion talk is a good influence on me. I have the same sort of taste in clothes as you, but don't know much about where to go to get clothes. You could help me out a lot by your chat. Smile

Sorry to hear about the friend Cag. I know people like that too. Take care there.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/05/2017 07:22

On no cag that's bad. Yes stepping away sounds like the best thing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/05/2017 07:22

I like the clothes laska. I'm rubbish at dressing myself.

Laska5772 · 12/05/2017 07:27

Oh cag that sounds horrible, kids cab be so cruel somtimes. I hope you Dd is ok.. well done you for supporting her. In the pre jurrassic time ( my childhood) bullying wasnt really ever dealt with or recognised as being a real trauma as it is now... ( nor really when my DS was small..

WreckTangled · 12/05/2017 07:30

wreckI hope thats nicer than it looks!.
Right I had better get out ..!

HollyTheHarrier · 12/05/2017 07:39

Finally caught up with the thread...been a busy week working away then yesterday went down with a bug and had to take time off. Hoping to be ok to work from home today as too poorly to commute but have so much stuff to do!

Lots of spending while away but mostly can be claimed on expenses. Spent about £5 yesterday on fruit and stuff that I thought might make me feel better (but it didn't work).

Missed far too many posts to comment on everything, but hope everyone is doing well despite exam stress, illness, poorly animals etc. Oh and Sunny I'm quite jealous of the electric car, would love one but most of my driving is long distance (tend to walk or get the train on a day to day basis) so not really suitable at the moment. Hopefully when the infrastructure for charging points improves a bit it will be a possibility.
