Apple and caramel cake sounds amazing Seacow. I wish I could give you some advice re the plan, how on earth are you supposed to know what's good or not if you have not been in that scenario. You are an extremely capable individual though and I think that you will produce something appropriate, factual and in keeping.

Creme Thanks, I am sorry that I made you feel that way and thank you for caring. Going to be very careful what I say, but it's lovely that so many folk can care so much and comment, especially re DD. Such a tough lesson she's learning so young.

I think you will be fine Em. I've told you before, I didn't know about being pregnant and was seriously drunk twice before I found out. I also ate tons of seafood when in Sri Lanka as that's pretty much all there was. DS seems okay Smile

DH is going away for a week this afternoon. He's in a bad place mentally and has been for ages, thought he was coming round a week or so ago but not so. Is it okay to say that I feel a bit of relief, even though I am worried for him. I need a break mentally from him. That's awful isn't it, love him to bits but I'm struggling to support everyone, DD, DS doing AS and DH.

There's, it's out now. Smile

Can't posts spends until later.

Hello all. Just had a nice relaxing half hour drinking coffee and catching up on the thread and eating Jaffa cakes

I had a reasonable week spend wise - managed to avoid buying lunch all week! Must be a first for me. Spent about £20 on drinks and dinner out one evening with friends, and £2.75 on breakfast one morning when I had to leave mega early. Oh and £95 on a bridesmaids dress 😊 But that is one expense I'm happy to have. I've been out this morning at a fun run type thing with obstacles, which was fun. Got quite wet and cold so defrosting now at home. Half marathon tomorrow so will allow myself an easy afternoon at home.

cag super news about 12 week scan going well

Welcome to ravioli and well done on money saving so far!

Seacow it sounds really hard work coping with the project and commute on top of everything but it will be so worth it financially and hopefully give you some job satisfaction too. Pret is also a bit of a downfall of mine 😳 Why I really must take a packed lunch more often.

I've shamelessly had the heating on. It's on a thermostat so I just let it do it's thing whenever I'm in the house. I don't cope with cold very well.

em sympathies on house stuff. my house sale has hit a bit of a bump with issues coming up on surveys. I'd forgotten how much aggravation it all is until that came up. It'll work out in the end. Never been pregnant so don't know much about the banned food thing, but I'm absolutely positive that lion stamped eggs don't have salmonella! Are the NHS a bit behind the times?

need so pleased to hear the pony is going to be ok. I'm sure he will be very well looked after.

Hope all those feeling under the weather get better soon

I just mowed the garden, cut the hedge and shredded the clippings and now my brain is ringing instead of just my ears. The garden looks good though.

I have a frugaleer dilemma. My bird feeding habit is becoming expensive as the starlings are now eating their way through 6 fat balls per day. Do you think I should just put ourt sunflower seed hearts for the tits and leave off putting our fat balls? I think it's really too expensive, supporting the entire East of England starling population.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/05/2017 14:47

I used to buy my sunflower hearts in bulk at the local animal feed place, it does sheep feed etc but also bird seed & cat/dog food. Also carrots the size of marrows.

If the local animal feed place doesn't do fat balls places like homebargains & b&m, the range etc do 50 for around £5 or so.

I used to love my bird feeders.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 15:02

Thanks fluffy. I'm just not quite sure if I ought to spend a fiver a week on starlings. It's a tricky dilemma. I suppose if I had a dog or something it would be even more though. Smile

Cagliostro · 06/05/2017 15:53

Making fat balls is easy with lard and big bags of birdseed, works out cheaper. We chuck in mealworms too

ememem84 · 06/05/2017 16:01

There was a thread a while ago about a posters husband who ate a fat ball thinking it was a fancy scotch egg.

Riding was good. Not as rainy as I thought it would be.

Now home and am catching up on my tv shows. First up, pretty little liars, then 13 reasons why then greys anatomy.

WreckTangled · 06/05/2017 16:03

I think that might be in classic!

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 16:40

I've decided to buy another seed feeder and stick to sunflower seed hearts. I think I'd rather have lots of blue tits and great tits and gold finches rather than my own flock of starlings pooing everywhere.

Fat balls do not sound like a very tasty snack. Must have a look at that thread. Sounds funny. :-)

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 17:30

Oh heck are we on two threads!! ?

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 18:55

Oh yes we seem to have a new one now.
