Hi Guys. I'm here. Lots more kind words so make me feel touched again.

Yep, yesterday was difficult. I'm finding the hardest thing dealing with DD's heart break. DH's head isn't in a position to contribute anything emotionally either yet. After the vet came and X-rayed yesterday then went back to the practice we were under no illusion we were going to get good news and he was very honest with DD and told her straight there were 3 possible outcomes and to hope for the most favourable. We sat at the farm and sobbed and sobbed together, Dpony looking at us like WTF? GrinGrin

Anyway... we still by some miracle have a pony. He has (sort of) luckily got a spiral fracture, in a place that doesn't cross the joint. The way the fracture has occurred has also (luckily, sort of) meant there's been no movement of the bone. Vet, whose the partner and an equine specialist said he couldn't have done a better job in surgery of holding the bone together had he operated. So, if a fracture can be lucky, it's this one.

6 weeks at least of box rest, then we re X-ray. We lose him for a season but even at his age he will come back to full work and be able to do our discipline (mounted games, this needs tons of speed and flexibility). Vet has 3 kids doing the same thing so knows exactly what MG entails.

Going to be a lot of hard work, right over DD's exam period, but fuck me she's a worker and a grafter and I've never seen a kid love something so much. We all have one horse (or pet I guess) that gets to us, this mardy old bastard is ours.

Lonely Yes, we had infection last week too, you were right there. It's been hard to figure what was injury and what was infection.

We also have use of a pony for the season. A mare. Fat and unfit but also a natural games pony, albeit she hasn't done it for nearly 5 years. Also likes to jump big. She's going to take some work to bring back in but she's a positive project for DD, especially when her exams finish and she's off for the summer. No where near as cantankerous as our pony so she won't get kicked or headbutted trying to groom her Grin

I feel so much better for knowing what the injury is and that we won't lose him.

Spends.
£21 pizza last night (too late and tired to cook).
£15 PT session.
£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ Vet bill Grin
£30 Cleaner.

Thanks Laska. I'm going out for tapas with some friends tonight, which will be nice.

To top off yesterday, DM phoned and asked me to take her somewhere next week, to which I agreed, then she phoned me later to say someone else was taking her!!!!

Ah need that's a relief. None are ideal but while there is pony there is hope. Especially during exam season.

As for DM ask yourself can you do anything about that, is it a priority? No to both so shelve it on the fuck it shelf.

need so glad it's good(ish) news. The thought of the other would have finished me off.

sunny I've lost interest in brexit. I'm not allowed to vote even though ultimately it will affect us here. British passport holders but no entitlement to vote. Not really fair.

laksa I think I've got the spiced one. Not sure though. Whichever it is it's tasty. Mmmm.

Added anti colic bottles to my Amazon baby list. A colleague recommended them so in they've gone.

Raining here today so am looking forward to my riding lesson 😭😩 £25

Dh is off to the rugby (jersey v Guernsey) so I'm probably not going to see him until later on this evening - he's got an invite through his work so his meal and booze will be paid for.

I may pop in to see dm later and see if I can persuade her to go for tea and cake.

Well that's a much better outcome than I was expecting need. I'm sure your dd will rise to the challenge of nursing dpony and training reserve pony and studying, but you'll be frazzled by the end of it!
Liberty fabric sounds like a treat lonely
Well done on the early morning run mammy very impressive.
I've been trying to keep up with the thread over the past couple of days but not posting as very busy with work and still feeling under the weather.
Feel thoroughly depressed by the election results and at the prospect of an even bigger Tory majority in June. As far as I can. See it will make bugger all difference. To the Brexit negotiations but will for sure mean that the dreadful things that are happening in education, health etc will continue with increased fervour.
Ds felt his head boy interview went well but he didn't get it. He's absolutely fine about it, pleased to have been shortlisted and ends up as senior prefect which is still a great reflection on him.
Very little spending has happened since I last posted as I've been working & had busy evenings. Dh went and did an Aldi shop yesterday, not sure how much he spent.
Quietish day for me today, group training this morning which will be interesting as I haven't done anything since the last one due to feeling unwell. Then ds is playing cricket (£10 for teas & subs), dd is scoring and dh is off to the East coast to watch his football team's last game of the season (ticket already paid for so just petrol money for his friend & any food & drink). They've been promoted already but could finish top so hope it's a good afternoon/evening for him.
I'm planning to enjoy the peace and to get some gardening done.

Agreed Life, I don't have the emotional energy to deal with her at the minute, so she can definitely go on the 'fuck it' shelf'. I really liking the idea of a 'fuck it' shelf, both for my mind and actually in RL.

Well done to your DS North, I'm impressed that a quiet kid would go for the role anyway, says a lot about him. Prefect is fab anyway.

I honestly and genuinely thought we were going to lose him looking at how lame and in pain he is, I had mentally prepared for the worst and I'm a reasonably positive person. I'm glad to know, not knowing what is wrong has been hard too.

Feel shattered but more positive at least. Smile

Happy riding Em Smile

I've done something naughty. I've just had a bacon and drippy yolked fried egg sandwich.

First runny yolk since finding out about baby. I feel the guilt. But eggs are fresh. And omg so delicious. So many yummy noises. Mmmm 🍞🥓🍳🍞

That's what I thought wreck but midwife said not to. Because of salmonella. I've been good so far and today just thought fuck it, eggs are fresh are lion stamped. So should be fine.

My god it was delicious.

I'm glad it's not just me that's confused about Brexit. I'll be really glad to see what Emmanuel Macron does about the EU once the French election is over. I'm laying all my hopes on him getting the federalists under control. I really don't like the idea of 5 more years of the conservatives eroding the NHS and education though.

cag yaaaaaassssss eggs on risotto or Nassi goerang or pad Thai are the absolute best.

I didn't notice before though but I've managed to drip runny eggy ketcupy sandwich all over my white bedding. So that's being washed today then. Fml.

Still raining. Must get the waterproofs out. Sigh. I'd cancel but at this short notice I'd still have to pay. So I'll just go and will put up with it.

I've been eating runny eggs - I don't think the NHS has got round to changing its website yet but the advice is changing (can't remember which authority said it but I read it on the BBC and my midwife agreed although said she isn't allowed to agree until the NHS advice is updated ). As long as they are lion stamped then the salmonella risk is now negligible.

Great news about the pony Need. A huge relief that he should survive, even if you lose the season.

North I feel exactly the same as you - a bigger Tory majority fills me with horror as they will then feel they have a mandate to do whatever they like re. Education, health and welfare reforms. It's a difficult ejection because Brexit is overshadowing a lot of domestic issues but they are still there, and hugely important. Sad

More sorting and housework today. And starting the work on revising DS's EHCP paperwork. I feel a bit overwhelmed by that task as I don't know that a good plan is supposed to look like. I contacted the borough's independent advocacy and advice service on Thursday but they haven't got back to me. I am twitchy because I only have 15 days and it is ticking by!

Might make an apple and caramel cake too - DH loves it and he is working hard on sorting stuff out, bless him.
