Sorry , dont mean to start a political argument in this thread.. (theres enough on MN already!! ) .

I am a dinosaur it seems though and so are many of my friends. and Its sad when al the things youve fought and voted for over many years are just chucked out , (or eroded) .. .

But yes thats democracy. I believe in it and I help administer it by working in poll stations etc .. . The results are just not going my way right now !! ( trying not to be a sore loser ! ).. ..

Loveabaconsandwich · 05/05/2017 19:42

DP is patiently in the middle of DD2 bedtime standoff again Confused . But she walked the school run twice today, she is meant to be exhausted! Her favourite word is "no" Hmm

LonelyOversharer · 05/05/2017 19:43

I turned off the news. Went into the garden. Am so sick of all of it - politics I mean. And it's only going to get worse up to the ge. I will cast my vote. Do my part, and carry on like the rest of us.

On going into the garden I found a chick!!! One out, one hatching I think. It is grey and fluffy, I will try to get a pic. Only 2 of the 7 in the incubator have developed at all, so we ditched the duds and put 5 of our own eggs in. Another 21 days to wait...

£13 maccy d's for a lazy tea, claimed 3 freebies from the monopoly. But dp gave me £40 (he sold a bit from one of his own bikes) so overall I'm up. Bar ordering some drinking cups for the chickens for a self top-up system, and 2m of liberty fabric to make myself a dress. Both paypal so not direct from the current account, so not sure if it counts!

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2017 19:58

I'm disappointed by the election results, but even more annoyed by the low turnout. 27% in my ward and just over 30% in all County Durham Sad.

Spends: £3.75, on a latte and apple crumble flapjack, while waiting for bus connections. Sainsburys delivery of £45.36 came, which will come out of my account on Monday.

Happy weekend everyone Smile.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/05/2017 20:10

Well we have a conservative mayor. Fgs it's going to be a con white wash as the rivals are whatsits the majority. Can't think of the word.

MeadowHay · 05/05/2017 20:26

Cag No cag, sorry I was confusing, nurse prescribed me antibiotic instead of the stronger medicine because this antibiotic is safe in pregnancy given that we are thinking about maybe ttc soon. So it's good there is something I could take as I thought there would be nothing safe for acne during pregnancy, but on the other hand I doubt this will work as I've already tried two antibiotics that didn't...

Whoever said about La Roche Duo thing, I suppose I could try it. Although not now because the nurse told me not to use anything on my face these next three months so we can know if the antibiotic is working or not. But if it doesn't then I guess it is worth a try, thanks. I've tried sooooo many things Sad.

Laska From what I've seen on these threads most people are broadly politically aligned or at least if there are people who aren't it seems they don't tend to make it known. I think it would be cool to work in a polling station.

Hope Need and family are doing ok.

Laska5772 · 05/05/2017 20:29

Oh sd and b*r it ! I just had a [wine} with dinner ! will be just the one though ..I wont have any more ..Thinking bikini ) .. Sorry for moan..

I am also v tired... it was a 15hr day yesterday..

Laska5772 · 05/05/2017 20:29

Wine ..

Laska5772 · 05/05/2017 20:36

.. Hey meadow ! You could ! Just contact your local council and ask for the elections office ..

They always need people to be poll clerks ( you get training and the pay is about £130 for the day.. ) But yes its 6.15 am start until about 10.30 pm and you cant leave th e poll station , so you have to be prepared for a long stint ..

You can also do the count (if its not overnight and youve worked the day..) It was this year so I couldnt do it .. They also often want people to send out postal votes

I put it towards my holiday money

WreckTangled · 05/05/2017 20:39

Haha laska are you sure you only had the one glass?!

Cagliostro · 05/05/2017 20:45

Oh I seeee meadow I misunderstood. Oooh so does that mean TTC still happening soon... eeeek!!! 🌟

ememem84 · 05/05/2017 22:03

Ooh exciting meadow

I suffered really badly from acne in my early 20's. Then tried to cover it with make up this making it worse.

My gp the old hippy she is told me to take vitamin d. I also tried accupuncture for it which didn't clear it completely helped it.

My go to answer for all my health issues though now is to get pregnant. My skin looks great my hairs swooshy and glossy. I'm sleeping loads. Yay! Easier said than done though.

Met friend for drink and dinner (large glass of icy cold rose lemonade then a carbonara at local Italian) £15. Dh picked me up and we've been watching tv.

Coppersulphate · 05/05/2017 22:30

Hope Need is ok. Been thinking of her today.
Lonely I love Liberty fabric. Any chance of a pic of the one you chose?
Fluffy....you've got me worried. I didn't know my driving licence could run out. Must go and check the date on mine.
£20.79 on 3 big bags of compost in B&Q.
HB is excellent for some foods I think?

mammymammyIRL · 06/05/2017 05:09

Morning everyone- just been out doing a 5k run for Pieta House. €25 donation but such a good cause & amazing experience.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 06:33

Em Getting pregnant did wonders for me too, and it carried on all through breastfeeding. Going cold turkey at the end of breastfeeding was hard through. I reckon the best plan is have three kids and never wean one before becoming pregnant with the next Grin

I had an actual NSD yesterday. Woohoo! Getting cheaper hobbies is definitely a good thing.

mammymammyIRL · 06/05/2017 06:49

Ds3 has just tried to blackmail me. He came into our room, I told him to cuddle up with me or I would go to his bed with him. He wanted to go downstairs & watch tv, I'm only after getting to sleep. He left the room crying that he's not my best friend anymore & he's never ever coming in to mommys bed again Grin

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 07:18

Sounds like a result there mammy!

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 07:30

Looks sunny but windy out there this morning ( from my cosy pit) . Plan is to get the beans in ( more digging) and the tomatoes into growbags in the greenhouse. Thats a trip to garden centre then. .... i need to buy a gardening birthday present also so hopefully that will stop me indulging in plants for myself .. Yes it was just the one glass wrecked there was the end pf a bottle of white still in fridge that Dh opened last weekend..

Btw for those not drinking i have found a great ' grown up' non alc drink that hits the G &T spot . Its called Seedlip garden .. its brilliant
. ( i may not go back to g&t even).. trouble its expensive £27.95 a bottle.. but really really good.
I dont know how to link on this phone.. but they have a seedlip website and you can buy on amazon

ememem84 · 06/05/2017 07:32

copper I'm renewing my licence in a few weeks. It expires in November but here they're putting the price up in October so I'm doing it sooner. I think for us it'll go up by £15 from £70 to £85 for a 10 year licence.

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/05/2017 07:34

That's what I was thinking laska Grin

DD2 went to sleep in our bed last night but got booted out when we went to bed. She then got up at 5.45 Angry . Doesn't she appreciate it's the weekend?! It's so much harder when you have two DC and can't just ignore them in the fear of waking the other up!

Anyway she does have the cutest smile, I just prefer to be asleep at 5.45! Think I may have to adjust my bedtime until we are through this faze.

ememem84 · 06/05/2017 07:34

laksa seedlips great! Dh bought me some when we found our i was Preg. I'm drinking it with sparkling water now though as I found out you're probably not meant to drink tonic water when preg. Something to do with the quinine. However I was drinking it during the early weeks as it helped the nausea.

I also found coop do ore mixed cans of non alcoholic g&t.

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/05/2017 07:35

*phase. I thought that word looked odd!

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 07:41

www.seedlipdrinks.com

this is the web address for seedlip

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 07:42

Laska I'm pretty confused about the election results too. I still feel I know very little about the arguments for and against Brexit, in spite of having looked very hard for the information. It's really odd to see the Brexiters holding sway so strongly when I feel we don't know what we're voting for still. Interesting to see Conservative gains in Scotland. I grew up there and that's a really big change.

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 07:46

Em they also say try with elderflower tonic. You could try with elderflower cordial instead? Have you tried the spice seedlip ? Was wondering what that was like?
