That's great Cag. Well done!

ememem84 · 03/05/2017 10:54

Hooray cag great news!

I've got my 20 week one the week after next - was meant to be next week but dh is away gallivanting for work again!

Have spent my morning so far avoiding daytime tv. Have mn'd have called a few removals people. And have rearranged appointments. #usefulsicko

Am now embarking on a new book. And another cup of tea.

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/05/2017 11:07

Just off on my train travels for the day, will be late home tonight after the kids have gone to bed Sad

But as I had a bit of time at home this morning I made myself a proper packed lunch. Was a bit lacking in sandwich stuff so cooked some nuggets to have cold in wraps with cucumber and tomatoes. Chopped up some strawberries. My bag is heavy with water too.

Should be LSD apart from travel costs and maybe a hot drink which should be claimed back on expenses

Good news cag and take care em

WreckTangled · 03/05/2017 11:50

Great news Cag!

Bacon well done on lunch.

MeadowHay · 03/05/2017 13:48

Cag That's great news.

My stomach seems to have magically sorted itself out Confused. It's still feeling a bit odd and uncomfortable but no more of that dreadful pain so far today. Which is just as well because DH spent 30 minutes and 20 attempts at phone calls on the GP surgery this morning and by the time he got through at around 9am they told him there were no appointments left. So if it flares back up again my only option will be to get a taxi to the walk-in centre. So really hoping it is better now!

Had a two hour revision session with my mentor at uni which has made me feel a bit more confident back in the swing of things study-wise.

Spent £2.80 on two lush flapjacks from the library café that I brought home after for DH and I. Was yummy.

DH just gone to GP now to get his skin tag taken off. Food shopping arriving tonight too.

Btw, in case anyone doesn't get the Money Saving Expert e-mails, there's this site called everything5pounds.com where you can buy clothes and stuff for £5. I have bookmarked it for when we need basics in the future.

SnugglySnerd · 03/05/2017 15:33

Great news, Cag.

Pleased you are feeling better, Meadow. Hope you feel better soon too, Em.

NSD.

ememem84 · 03/05/2017 15:49

Just catching up, although there doesn't seem to be much to catch up on.

Have spent the day reading book, eating healthy, drinking a ton of water, and am now watching greys anatomy.

ememem84 · 03/05/2017 15:50

Nsd and have paid £10 off my credit card.

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/05/2017 16:20

That's great news Meadow. Well done. :-)

I've had a quiet day chilling out because I am totally knackered from doing Beavers stuff solidly for what must be nearly two weeks now. I'm able to do so much more than I was this time last year, but it still catches me by surprise when I accidentally wear myself out. Ooops.

The weather has turned cold and grey here, but I had exciting news yesterday.

Our three starlings have been getting through 6 fatballs in the feeder every two days, which is going to get expensive soon. However, yesterday 6 new gorgeous baby starlings appeared on our lawn. I think I must have been feeding them for weeks without realising it.

They look amazing, with pristine shiny feathers. I'm quite chuffed. Frugal hobby too. It was about £5 for 6 Starlings. Woohoo!

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/05/2017 16:29

My afternoon out finished much earlier than expected so on a quieter and an hour earlier train home. So should be able to see the DC before their bedtime.

I may have eaten my packed lunch by 11.30 Blush . So may have bought fruit, a danish and a costa but hopefully can all be expenses. Naughty but nice.

em I'm currently on season 12 of GA and now tv doesn't have the earlier episodes of season 13. I may cry when I run out of episodes to watch!

Hope everyone who is feeling unwell continues to take it easy BrewCake

LonelyOversharer · 03/05/2017 17:04

Feel better everyone poorly. I'm glad your pain has eased meadow have you had your gallbladder checked? I might be talking crap, but dp started with hideous reflux like symptoms when his went wrong. And the pain would cut in and out randomly.

A day of rest is good em you will have needed that.

Hope you're doing well seacow in your new job project, don't get too tired out.

sunny we have the same starling family every year in our rotten facia boards. Noisy blighters, but very cute when they fledge.

cag yay! Wriggly babies are good, instant relief when you see the scan.

Nsd for me so far. Am having a rest as I'm running on a calorie defecit just now, and am a tad hungry. But I need this awful stone to be gone before the christening at the end of the month. Can smell tea, dp is doing it. He hardly ever cooks these days lazy so I'm staying well out of the way!

WreckTangled · 03/05/2017 17:05

Perfect bacon!

Meadow glad you're feeling better.

Spent £8 in Iceland on some dinner and milk and hash brown fries

£4.30 parking.

Ds is poorly. Well he said he had a sore throat this morning and the childminder said he was quiet today. He's currently asleep on me and feels very hot. He's meant to be at pre school tomorrow then going to a friends as I have a hospital appointment at 5... My step mum works Thursday mornings so maybe if he is unwell at pre school she might have him. Hmm.

Coppersulphate · 03/05/2017 17:06

Wow Sunny that's amazing news. I have starlings nesting in my roof space. They were there last year and the builder who was doing the bathrooms was supposed to block the hole up over the winter. He thinks he has blocked it up but the starlings tell me different. I can watch them fly in and out. Still, he was good at bathrooms.
And I put a row of sparrow nest boxes up .....3 attached together because they like to live close to,each other apparently. And two of them are occupied.
Good news Cag...do you know if it's a boy Cagletini or a boy Cagletini. Or is it to early to say?
Hope all poorly frugaleers feel better soon.
Spendy day here, rail and air fares but can claim it all back. Soon, I hope.

CremeEggThief · 03/05/2017 18:03

NSD.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/05/2017 18:30

Hi all, glad you are feeling better Meadow I wondered gallbladder as well, when mine first started playing up the Drs originally told me it was acid reflux Hmm

So exciting Cag and Em

Hope your ds is o.kay Wreck

The downside of having cats is we hardly ever get birds in the garden Sunny I keep the feeders topped up just in case though!

I think I have managed a NSD today although going to pay the cm in a mo, took dd to the Drs this morning as she is still coughing quite a lot and she now has an inhaler! The Dr said its too soon to say its asthma and is likely to be just a post viral cough but the inhaler should help things settle down...

ememem84 · 03/05/2017 19:02

Nurse Catface. Tissue inspector. She pulled it out of the bin and shredded it.

Dh bought me decongestant nasal strips and olbas oil. He knows how to treat me nice. I have the receipt so I can claim my boots points.

Cagliostro · 03/05/2017 19:27

lonely I covered my eyes until they saw the heartbeat! Blush I was a nervous wreck TBH! So glad it's done now and I can finally let myself believe this is happening.

copper too early, will be the 20 week scan they should be able to tell (so not long for em now eeeek!!! :o) however if I can manage to wait I would like to this time :)

DS is really poorly. Suddenly got wheezy, headache, high temp and most oddly really lethargic. He's always a snuggly and affectionate little dude coming for cuddles frequently but he's just been slumped on me/the bed. It's only a cough so not worried (unless it gets worse and we will need to request an inhaler again) but it's weird seeing him like that!

Cagliostro · 03/05/2017 19:30

Ooh naughty nurse catface! :o I love that you are still thinking frugal while poorly em that's proper frugaleering right there 🌟 Hope the stuff DH bought helps.

Masterchef semifinal continues today yay!

RavioliOnToast · 03/05/2017 19:30

I'm a newbie! However always looking to save money. On Friday we rang sky and managed to cut 40£ from our monthly bill, and we also got the renewal quote for our home insurance- almost double what we paid last year, after shopping around we got a deal that saves us £8 a month, but better cover for DHs laptop out of the home. I know it's bog standard money saving tips but we've literally slashed £48 a month in outgoings in about an hour. I'm still chuffed to bits about it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/05/2017 19:43

Well done Ravioli Top frugalling there 👊

£1.45 gravy granules and frozen butternut squash.
Returned some sandals so £12 in, plus £5 from gfk monitoring.

Still reading matched betting blogs, one mans made £37K in 18 months.

Laska5772 · 03/05/2017 19:49

HI there! I havent gone AWOL, just dont usually get time to post at weekends and then this week has been a strange one where I havent been able to post. I have read though.. so just adding my late congratulations to Em about the house . How exciting! and also Flowers to need thinking about you (and your Dpony) .

So over the weekend I helped DS move into his flat , and then had a massive clear out ,(lots to go to charity shop, I dont bother ebaying any more too much hassle) . and yesterday DH and I had a rare evening away , ,we went to see The Unthanks in Southampton .. (They were really great) and then stayed overnight in hotel as it was too late to get the ferry back. .

I really tried to spend some money and get a new top to match a skirt I bought earlier for my hols , but was sadly disappointed.. Either me and fashion are not working right now ,or maybe its too early for nice summer stuff.. Bit annoying as I wont be going off the island again now until we actually go on hols.. but there always internet shopping if I could just find something I liked

So spends yesterday and today were: £20 on ferry fares , about £15 on a M&S 'hotel picnic' for our evening meal , and £20 in the co op today.. (hotel and tickets paid for sometime ago ). I dont think I bought anything at all over the weekend as we had loads in.

We are not drinking at the moment .. ( I'm trying to lose a bit of weight for holiday and Dh is just not drinking in solidarity) .. Its amazing the difference to the weekly food shop. (Does that may me sound a bit of a lush? Wink.

IT may be a few days before i'm back here again .. Im working the local election tomorrow ( a long day , but ill probably not be able to get online ) then its the weekend again .

Welcome Ravioli sounds like you have the right idea! ..This is a great place for tips and support ( and gossip!)

Taytocrisps · 03/05/2017 19:56

Welcome Ravioli. It's a friendly group here.

Cag good to hear that wriggly baby is doing well.

Sunny what a lovely surprise to discover the baby starlings! Does DS know? What did he make of them?

Meadow glad you feel better today. Fingers crossed the pain doesn't come back.

em glad to see Nurse Catface is taking good care of you Grin. My SIL went to answer the front door one day and her naughty dog ran into the hall with a sanitary towel (used) in his mouth that he'd rooted out of the bin. Luckily she spotted him before she actually opened the door.

Hope all the frugaleer kids feel better soon.

DD's dresses arrived from Next. She loves one of them but we reckon she needs the next size up. The other one's going back.

ememem84 · 03/05/2017 20:38

Yep catface is looking after me. She's squished herself on the couch between dh and I. And had had a bit of a sit on my lap. This is a relatively new thing.

Was meant to get my nails done today but as I didn't go to work I cancelled the appointment. Rescheduled for next Friday.

Was also meant to be out for dinner tomorrow but have rescheduled that too.

Have added a few bits to Ikea basket but no buying until we have the house or we have certainty that it's going through court

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/05/2017 20:41

Welcome ravioli

WreckTangled · 03/05/2017 20:49

Welcome ravioli I think you're going to fit in nicely by the sounds of things! Grin

Our toilet is blocked. God knows what dd has put down it. I went just before we discovered it luckily I only had a wee as poor Dh is having to sort it.
