mammy I don't know if you order from Tesco but they've a special offer over the next few days - delivery for just €1. I've booked a slot for Saturday morning.

MrsMozart · 25/04/2017 20:13

Sorry folks. I went awol.

Actually probably didn't want to admit to the spending... a fridge and microwave for a sister, four pairs of shoes and a handbag for me, a pair of boots for a daughter, as well as ancillary Stuff!

Oops.

SnugglySnerd · 25/04/2017 20:18

Congratulations, Creme!

scattyspice · 25/04/2017 20:33

Wow Em house sounds fantastic!
Mozart these things always come at once Grin
£40 petrol yesterday (but will get most of that back). NSD today. Been to parents evening so far so good although yr 7 seems a bit early to be predicting GCSE grades Hmm.

MrsMozart · 25/04/2017 20:37

Ta scattyspice. I was tired of being scruff and sister was in need.

Must go read thread...

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/04/2017 20:38

Oooh em exciting

Laska5772 · 25/04/2017 20:57

It was a NSD , but ive just spent £19.95 on leave-in hair conditioner .... £19.95 on hair conditioner!??!! I hear you say... Yep. but it lasts about 6 months (or longer) with daily use and is utterly fab on my short white/blonde home-bleached pixie cut .. It also has the same effect as gel/wax [vain Laska emoticon]

LonelyOversharer · 25/04/2017 22:28

Sounds great em does it need a lot of work, or are you good to go?

Right, have ordered a mid range pair of asics "for low milage daily runs" and a pair of long leg leggings. All good, except a pair of salamon trail running shoes also found their way to checkout. I know I'll just wear these, right up my street. But I WILL send them back if they don't fit. Sport shoes direct, thought their pricing was very good, but had to pay delivery.

needastrongone · 25/04/2017 22:49

Grin@ Laska. I find my hair needs extra now that I am in my 40's. I've ordered a few bits from Hush, but send loads back, very restrained for me but I don't need ANOTHER ruched skirt!

Shoes and kit sound good Lonely.

Fluffy Grin, not the best investment folk imagined it might be. I've put in a cheeky but hopefully not offensive offer for the art.

Oh Creme, what a bitter sweet situation. Wonderful news that baby is safe and well, and the name correlation is lovely. But I see now how much the last weeks events must have affected you, given what happened to your friend. Allow yourself whatever emotions you feel. x

Exciting times Em. Most important, did you have 'the vibe', it sounds like you did!

Mummysh0rtlegs · 25/04/2017 22:59

Creme - what a lovely tribute.
Cooper - what a worrying time, hopefully they will have it all sorted soon.

£7 in the poundshop on odds and sodds
£32 in Asda - three new tops for DS1 and some snacks for holiday.

Pay day today, phew. Good to see a decent amount in our account, but I do need to try and get to the next pay day with a decent amount left in the account. Taken on more hours again this week so that'll help.

Coppersulphate · 25/04/2017 23:28

Thanks for all the good wishes. It really does make a difference.
Em, house sounds exciting. Worth going for the shorter term. You can always extend the time if it gets difficult once you've got miniEm.
Creme, what a bag of mixed emotions. Your poor sister. But it's a nice idea to use the friend's name.
Hope you get the art Need.
Sunny, do tell us what sort of things you are learning in Beavers. I'm interested to know how it links with parenting! Anyway it's great that you are enjoying it. Sounds like it's just as much fun for you as for your DS.

WreckTangled · 26/04/2017 06:45

Creme congratulations on being an auntie again.

Em that house sounds perfect!

Today will be LSD just parking.

I don't have a uniform in this job so need to buy new clothes really as I only have one pair of black trousers and that won't do for all week...

ememem84 · 26/04/2017 07:06

lonely no work needed. There is scope to extend. So that's good. Sadly the family have to move due to work circumstances. They bought it last May and have completely renovated. The kitchen is not exactly what i would have chosen (high gloss charcoal grey units) but its smart. They've done a fab renovation job.

need the vibe was there. Def there.

copper the aim is to be mortgage free by the time we're 45. So in 13 years. It'll be doable. The mortgage we already have (and can get similar terms aside from the interest rate which is better) allows us to overpay by 15% dh worked out if we do it in a lumpy chunky sum every year we actually save on interest as opposed to overpaying each month.

We're already paying £1500 ish a month mortgage so the additional £500 will be a shock to start with but manageable. I'm trusting dh on this. And hopefully our salaries will go up up up.

We'll save on things like service charges (currently paying this in our flat) but will have to pay higher parish rates (equivalent to council tax) and water rates and oil for heating. But those shouldn't be too bad.

How's the jet-lag wreck? Glad to hear the jobs going well.

WreckTangled · 26/04/2017 07:10

Em it sounds like a lovely home and room for me to come on holiday there Grin jet lag is finally going I think. Felt dizzy for the last few days but I think I'm ok now. Yes I'm enjoying the job I have lots of training to go on miles away which is annoying but it's only stat stuff.

Loveabaconsandwich · 26/04/2017 07:16

Nearly missed my train this morning due to having to de ice my car Hmm .

Spendy already. Had to pay 20p extra online for parking as I was so short of time. Just spent £5 on second breakfast at my train change over point, as feeling unwell and thought some extra food might help.

House sounds good em. Your mortgage is twice what we pay!

Such a shame you will HAVE to do some shopping wreck Wink

Think I might have to find a corner to hide in at work today as not feeling like I want to speak to other people!

ememem84 · 26/04/2017 07:57

bacon don't I was watching something free other day and a family in the uk paid £850 mortgage a month. For a three bed detached place. 😭 But space is limited here so we pay a premium for the joys of the island!

Mummysh0rtlegs · 26/04/2017 08:05

We pay £850 for a 4 bed detached, in a lovely location etc. But we have a lot of equity in our house so don't need that big a mortgage compared to some. We were going to aim to be mortgage free by 40 but decided quality of life while the children were young was more important and that we were happy to pay it off by 50.

LonelyOversharer · 26/04/2017 08:09

em perfect! It means you can move and concentrate on having your baby, not getting the builders in. And it sounds future proof too.

Super sunshine here, but I've a feeling it's brass monkeys out there!

ememem84 · 26/04/2017 08:41

Just hope they accept our offer. DH is going to speak to the agent this morning.

Rain here.

needastrongone · 26/04/2017 08:47

Fingers crossed Em. Smile

Mummysh0rtlegs · 26/04/2017 08:51

Fingers crossed!!

Cagliostro · 26/04/2017 09:12

Fingers crossed here too em! Sounds awesome and I agree it'd be great not to worry about renovations with baby on the way.

Cagliostro · 26/04/2017 09:12

Two words to sum up my day: PIP assessment. Hmm

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/04/2017 10:29

Wow that house sounds awesome Em good luck!!

Also good luck with the assessment Cag!!

I have the day off today, have just been crunching the numbers for this month as it has been a disaster money wise Shock the problem has been all the additional costs, in brief they include holiday club £105, garden stuff £130, summer holiday £185, car tyres £100, dds school trip £100...... so even though i had a lot more go in this month than usual i have still gone completely over drawn Sad

My food/ petrol/ clothes budget seems to of been high as well at £418 for the month not sure why that was other than the Easter hols so eating more than usual? Plus comfort buying for when dd was poorly maybe.

trying to find the positives, have still managed to save something, I now have a lovely garden and we have a little holiday to look forward to..... childcare, school trips etc are unavoidable really although am still pissed off with the school for the crap amount of notice they gave us

Dd is starting another flipping club which means she now has a club everyday apart from Sundays, this is a high ropes club and is only £30 for 10 weeks which is really reasonable and she will only do it for the 10 weeks iyswim.

Today I am in charge of yet another colleagues leaving gifts so will be spending money which is not mine (other than the £5 i put in!) Also need to get some food, think will go to lidls and going to write a list/ meal plan.

allthebestplease · 26/04/2017 10:29

em good luck with the offer.
I've just had the mortgage valuer round our house for the buyers do hope that goes ok.
Spent £2 on a second hand book on gardening, I'm hoping to do some again in the new house.
