I've parked in the a&e drop off bays Blush that have a maximum time of 30 mins so hopefully I won't get a ticket!

Scan all clear and no parking ticket so I'm having a macdonalds to celebrate. Can't cope without coffee any longer!

Unexpected day at home today with my little one who was ill almost as soon as I got home yesterday.

Frugal fail. I bought a DVD yesterday which fell to an acceptable price on my Amazon watchlist.

Also spent £3.50 on lunch. So that's a big chunk of my £25 for lunch money for the month spent already Blush

Hoping for a LSD though as saved on commuting costs. May do the weekend food shop if DC seems well enough to take out.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 02/03/2017 08:30

Good news wreck Brew

northender · 02/03/2017 08:37

Thanks for the new thread wreck will catch up properly this afternoon. Off to get my hair cut now, then last minute shopping for Cologne...eek!!

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 08:42

Good news re the scan Wrecked.

Love Mark Thomas too Smile

Spends today will be.
£15 Personal training session.
£15 paying for Dh's PT session.
£80 Ocado.

ememem84 · 02/03/2017 08:46

Seminar update. No bacon rolls. Fruit and pastries. I'm a bit disappointed. Grin

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 08:50

Also, just a word to consider Giff Gaff for phone contracts, especially if you already have a phone. They are considerably and consistently cheaper, you can choose your package and there's no contract.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2017 09:26

Morning all, blimey Need you are amazing!! Good luck with the challenge, inspiring as always Smile

Snuggly it will be a shock for your dd when the babies turn up but pretty soon you won't be able to imagine it any other way, guilt is an unfortunate byproduct of being a parent I find Wink Your dd will be fine and will love the babies i'm sure.

Last of my days off today, this week has been lush. Plan for today is to tidy up, hang some washing out (its beautiful and sunny here) and take the dog for a nice, long walk. May pop to Pets at Home to pick him up a small chew/toy but no there spends planned.

My sense of smell went into over drive when I was pregnant as well, supermarkets were the worse - I had to run past the fish/meat counters!!

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 09:30

Dog????? Girlie????

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 02/03/2017 09:58

need three peaks! eek. You'll have so much fun! We have a few crazy batshit guys in our club that do these sorts of things, fell running, 24hr mountain races etc. You put me to shame! I was pretty pleased I'd done 8k steps yesterday, have slipped back into the sedentry catagory.

My wee car is ready £289. But it's the first things its needed done since I got if 2 years ago, and it's 8 now. Still a lot for me though.

Just done my feb figures, supermarket spends back up to £614, everything else was about static. Its just buying (mostly unnecessary duplicate) food that I need to curtail. I'm cross. I can do so much better. Paid £775 off my (4) credit cards. If I didn't have these bloody things I would be comfortable, but might have starved to death a few years ago.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2017 10:29

Haha Need its my dads dog, we are looking after him for a couple of weeks, dd is delighted!! He is a scruffy JRT, bundles of energy although at 7yo he is more relaxed than he used to be Grin

SnugglySnerd · 02/03/2017 10:39

Good news on the scan, Wreck.

I've just been out to peg some washing on the line and realised our garden is an absolute tip! DD will be wanting to play out there now the weather is improving. I might drop some hints to my dad and see if he'll come and do a bit of a tidy up for us!

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 11:07

Love a scruffy JRT Girlie, JRT's have lots of character don't they?

Even Martin Lewis, guru of finance says credit can be needed at times Knitting, you needed those cards at the time. And working damn hard to pay them off. It's a slog, but you will get there.

Personal Training was a killer but fun too.

Got a chicken in the oven now, which will be made into mexican wraps later and used for sandwiches.

I forgot £60 for the dog groomers later too.

Been buying my cereal bars from Amazon lately, often cheaper.

Ipsomatic · 02/03/2017 11:51

We had a bit of a step forward at school today. The welfare officer has said that ds can have occasional afternoons off when he needs them to stay on his feet, as long as we get a doctor's note every time. The private GP said she'd do that, so I'm heading off to see her tomorrow. More frugaleer affirmative action. Expensive but helpful. Dh was fantastically helpful in the meeting. SmileSmileSmile

ememem84 · 02/03/2017 12:42

Nsd so far. Yippee!!

I had a walk round the shops. I'm after some loafers. To wear with my skinny jeans the weathers getting nicer and soon boots won't be appropriate. But not quite warm enough for flip flops.

Saw some nice ones. But held off. Mostly because they aren't in my size and I could t remember how sizing At Dorothy Perkins works - whether it is notmal runs big etc.

Dh back tonight yay! Then he goes again on sat. Boooo.

MeadowHay · 02/03/2017 12:53

Glad to hear about your scan being clear Wreck.

Great news for your son Ipso. Glad school are making some adjustments for him.

Girlie I'm so jealous of you pet-sitting. My desire for a dog is intense haha. Could you post a pic of him? (Obv don't have to if you think that would be outing etc.)

Em In my experience DP sizing is quite ordinary/true-to-size.

Spends:
79p on a flapjack at uni when I was hungry between classes. Home now so shouldn't be anymore.

Decided to stick with my outfit for tomorrow, as PP said I feel comfy and confident in it. Will wear nice jewellery and do my makeup and hopefully feel nice. It will be a buffet which makes me feel better too as that's less formal than proper sit-down meal and also means I can pick stuff that I know I can eat without making a huge mess (coordination problems cos of Asperger's)!

Did my two classes this morning but too anxious and exhausted to stay on campus til 2pm for my lecture. Got a bunch of practice work back: 66 on a translation, 90 on listening, 74 on a summaryShock. Also just realised I've forgotten that I was supposed to have a meeting with my PT at 12pm which I've missed. She booked it with me weeks and weeks ago after I forgot about the one last term and missed that too...I did explain to her briefly that I have problems with organisation due to Asperger's/dyslexia and she seemed a bit sympathetic but gave me strong warning not to miss this one...and now I have :/. Thing is I had a different personal tutor for the first few years of my degree who I got on with really well and knew me well and was supportive but then he moved jobs whilst I was on my year abroad so now I have this different woman that I've only ever met once. I don't see the point in seeing her as it was literally a 3 minute meeting last time as we don't know each other. If I need support I have my mentor and my disability study adviser as well as good relationships with a few of my tutors that have been teaching me for years, I'm obv not going to go to a stranger just because they're my PT Confused.

Pulled a muscle in my dodgey back lugging dehumidifier up the stairs yesterday and it's sore and I have to clean the guinea pigs out later which will be tough with this dodgey back.

Ipsomatic · 02/03/2017 12:56

Do any of the fashion folks know what we're meant to wear these days if our favourite kind of bootcut jeans have been discontinued?

I used to wear bootcut cords from Next and then they went away, then I wore bootcut jeans, but they've gone away. It seems to be all skinny jeans now, which I'm not sure is a thing for me, or boyfriend jeans which wouldn't look so shapely, I thought.

I wondered if anyone might know what the modern equivalent is?

ememem84 · 02/03/2017 13:02

ipsos have you tried straight leg jeans. Oasis had some nice ones.

mootime · 02/03/2017 13:21

Hi,
Can I join you please?
After decades of over spending I have finally come to my senses and realised I need to address our money issues.

Between us we earn a significant amount of money and at the end of the month we are dry.

We have big outgoings, out mortgage isn't massive but with utilities etc it really adds up. Then childcare and clubs comes to 1250/ month Shock
But with what we have left we should be fairly easy to live on.

My main tactics aim to be:
Only buy things we actually need and only after conferring with DH.
Do not buy coffee out more than once a week, and never to take away.
Delete the amazon prime app.
Look at food / weekly shopping expenditure. Currently we spend £900/ month on food. (2 adults/ 3 kids) We can clearly reduce that, but I need to focus and try and plan.

Any other pointers.
Phone contracts both paid for by work, and sadly our utilities about to go up after a very low fixed rate.

SnugglySnerd · 02/03/2017 13:28

Ugh I hate buying jeans, I don't think I've ever found a pair I'm entirely happy with. I have straight hips like a boy so women's jeans look like jodhpurs on me. I used to buy men's jeans but they are always too wide in the leg now. Hope you find some, Ipso I usually just buy cheap ones from Sainsbury's or New Look now.

Ipsomatic · 02/03/2017 13:36

Thanks Em I'll have a look. Oddly Next seem to still do bootcut in dark blue, so possibly that is the answer.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 02/03/2017 13:52

ipso I buy all our jeans from gap, and get dd1 'sexy bootcut' bit Hmm about the sexy bit, but bootcut they are, nice slim leg fit. Bless her she's just 14 and wears a womans 12 (5'5" with one more growth spurt to come). I wear 'leggings' these are proper jeans, but like skinnies. Since I got a pair of nice boots last year I am a convert.

Have collected my car with its very shiny new brake discs. Paid off £200 from the card I then paid the bill on. Plus £20 road tax.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 02/03/2017 13:55

Hi moo you sound like me with food shopping. Last year I averaged £800 ish a month for 2 adults and 4dc. Last month was £600, jan was much less. I try to own up on here, makes me think about not spending too much, and I will do better this month than last!

babyinarms · 02/03/2017 14:19

Ouch.... car had engine light on and chugging a bit..... just got call from garage .... €245 to repair it.... just paid over €600 for repairs before Xmas. .... no wonder I can't clear my credit card... aggghhh!!😩😩
Only working part time and have been bringing all my lunches to work last few weeks. ...makes a huge difference !
