Just saved £30 pa on line rental and agreed an increase to super fast broadband for the same price that we are currently paying. So all good there.

WreckTangled · 14/03/2017 16:02

Cute polka!

Just fixed my electricity. Only for a year though. Unfortunately the cheapest right now rather than in the long run is what we need!

em Angry on your behalf. DH told his mother not to tell anyone when I was in the early stages, about 4 weeks, then a cousin who had never phoned DH rang. When I answered she said "ooh when are those babies due?" Hmm

Just Sainsbo's delivery today, £56. Tomorrow I have a dental appointment, just a check up so fingers crossed the cost doesn't ramp up.

great link, I won't let DH see it as he's currently doing more than I am Grin

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 16:17

Awwwwww Polka! Dogs rock. They just love you, simple as that. Smile

blueteapot · 14/03/2017 16:18

Cute doggies :)

£2 on softplay for both DC this morning due to a subsidised outing with toddler group. 80p on crisps for DS. DM made us lunch which was lovely, back home this afternoon and I dont know what has come over me but I can barely keep my eyes open. Think I've overdone it this past few days with outside work, housework and having both DC 24/7 this week... took a nap with them earlier but it made me feel worse! Have achieved the bare minimum housework today and was considering not bothering cooking tea and getting doing a smiley faces / fish fingers kind of meal or a takeaway, but pulled a chilli con carne I had made before out of the freezer and having it with rice. Need to power through. I used to be so good at powering through before I burnt out at work, now I seem to fatigue much more easily. Annoyed with myself. Hey ho.

blueteapot · 14/03/2017 16:31

Angry Em, I'd be livid at that.

CremeEggThief · 14/03/2017 16:38

Lovely dog photos, folks.Smile

Very few people in RL actually know I have CFS. Not even most of my close family, actually. I'm struggling a bit this week, as I worked yesterday and I don't normally work on Mondays. No chance of a lie-in until Friday, as I'm working til then. Bear in mind too that all my travel on public transport takes an hour or two each way, so I'm travelling 2-4 hours a day. Yesterday it took nearly 2 hours to get to a school that Google Maps said would have taken 25 minutes by car (although the traffic was heavy, so I'd say it would have been more like 40-45 minutes).

Spends: £7.80 travel and £2 Greggs, on a mocha and cinnamon bun after finishing work.

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 16:52

Flowers Creme. It's very tough when you have no choice but to work. DH used to find this when he struggled with his bi-polar. Flowers Brew

CremeEggThief · 14/03/2017 17:07

Oh Need, I love working 2 days a week, but I struggle with 4. Even if it's half days, it's all the travel on top, so I might as well be in for full days, if I'm in for half, really. Just worked out I'll have travelled 115 miles in 4 days this week, for £35 on the buses. Out of interest, how much would that cost in petrol or diesel?

mammymammyIRL · 14/03/2017 17:30

Hi all - app has logged me out, I can't remember password. This happened on Friday, it's not coming back to me so I'm going to have to do a reset or else I can only keep in touch with you guys from work Sad

em your mother in law is a piece of work isn't she? Everyone knows new baby news is only for the prospective parents to share.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/03/2017 17:31

I reckon £10-12 Creme, I do sympathise with you, commuting ruins my day. I never minded before but now I hate it.

em She can't live forever. People knowing makes no difference to a pg. stress isn't good though so fuck her horrible ways & forget it.

NSD. Forgot purse 🙄

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 14/03/2017 17:35

creme £10 petrol in my c1. Thats a lot of travel. Wearing enough for someone who isn't poorly.

A nsd for me, but that's a joke as I spent almost £400 yesterday. The shop was busy with moany riders today. Our first race is on sunday and our guys are getting nervous. Am ready, but have a lot of baking to do on saturday.

Tea was breaded cod (1/3 of the pack from costco) and homemade chips. All eaten. Even ds, who usually will only eat flipper dippers (fish shaped fish cakes for those without fussy dc), so a real piece of cod is an improvement. He is trying more "new" (slightly different) foods just now.

ememem84 · 14/03/2017 17:38

Cute doggos !!

Catface fail. Dropped jam toast on her head. She's a bit sticky still.

The more mil does the more determined I am to retain the higher ground. She won't be stopped from seein baby. But it'll be on my terms. Or our terms. Dh will obvs have a say.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/03/2017 17:43

Em I'd be livid.

Ds at dentist parent fail, 2 fillings. 1 is a previous one that keeps falling out.

Do you have time to read need or are the audio books you can listen to while you get the miles in your legs?

Sorry about the bad job news

Will catch rest up now

ememem84 · 14/03/2017 17:50

Also £9 on post for eBay stuff.

Then had tea with a piece of tiffin with dm. Yum.

blueteapot · 14/03/2017 17:55

It would be about £10 in DHs economic little car Creme - he does roughly 120 mile round trip a day for commuting and thats what it costs. In my car (large 7 seater family car) would have been about 20 quid. I tend not to take it on long journeys because it is rather costly to run. I didnt realise how bad it was until we got DHs car 18 months ago!

Speaking of which, we took a loan for that and I would love to chip away at it faster - can only pay it all off at once or continue with the monthly installments though. Id like to put it on to a 0% card and work at it that way - Im confused though, would it count as a balance transfer? Or a purchase? Not sure what kind of card to get to do it

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 18:02

fluffy is your woman to answer that Blue. Maybe you are coming down with something?

I agree Creme, even in my less than economical 4x4 which does 35mpg, that's no where near what you are spending in terms of time or money.

knitting, why all moany? Nerves pre race? Or just luck of the draw today?

northender · 14/03/2017 18:03

Sounds like mil is acting just as you'd expect Em. Good job she's a long way away.
Need good on you & dh for paying a decent wage. Lovely looking dogs (and polka too)
toast sorry you didn't get an interview, fingers crossed your luck changes soon.

I've had a busy day at work and have just lost the plot with DS who had not done any of the jobs I had asked him to do (nothing too onerous, emptying the dishwasher and tidying his room). So rather than making tea I'm having a few minutes to calm down & catch up with MN! No spends today, chicken fajitas for tea.

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 18:08

Bloody kids North!

Life I will fit it in, you know me Grin. Having said that, your idea is really good re audio books. I can do that on my road runs, bit trickier off road as you have to map read/navigate a bit.

Less time on here and other social media outlets, that's actually the idea. This is too much my default but I don't need to check it 50000000 times a day he he Grin

MeadowHay · 14/03/2017 18:10

Spend £4.80 on lunch at the library café on campus, as I wasn't able to drag myself out of bed at the time I should have so I was too late to make myself lunch. Blush woops. But I was at woek 1-5.30pm so net gain lol.

Feeling grim from this stupid illness thing.

Absolutely love the dog photos! Bear

Very tired. Having tea and fruit toast. Somehow need to summon the energy to clean out the guinea pigs' cage within the next two hours and then make dinner for when DH gets back from work Confused.

Tryingtosaveup · 14/03/2017 18:12

anger here too Em, but you not only have the high ground but you and DH also get to decide when MiL can see baby. You can always be awkward and post lots of pics with your DM and DF with their grandchild. Would that upset MIL?
Knitting can you post pics of your paving?
Polka, is that Crosby beach?
NSD

CremeEggThief · 14/03/2017 18:15

Goodness me! Shocked at how little petrol or diesel costs. I mean, I knew it would be less, but it's coming out at between 1/4 and 1/3 of what my travel costs.Shock I honestly thought by the time one factors in fuel, maintenance, tax and insurance, owning a car works out the same as public transport, but maybe not! I am dyspraxic (not diagnosed and not particularly clumsy, but I struggle with anything that requires hand-eye co-ordination and spatial things like judging distances), but as I've got older, I actually think I might be able to learn to drive in an automatic with a very patient teacher. I don't mind the travel itself at the time, but it's taking its toll, if I work more days, obviously.

Needastrongone · 14/03/2017 18:21

Creme A lady that I run with is an incredibly anxious person. She has a lot of MH issues and super high levels of anxiety. Panics about every aspect of driving. She learned to drive using an auto and also had some extra lessons afterwards with an instructor from the advanced school of motoring. Not that you have these issues, just saying it can be done.
