Wonderfully sunny here today. Debating whether I need a hoody to go out riding or whether I can Get away with the couple of layered tshirts a short and body warmer.

wreck oh no!!! But love cats face. Was that the face he made when you found the marker pen?? He looks mightily pissed that dd scribbled on carpet!

Plans for today are to go riding then come home and clean up as family are coming round for dinner. I've survived a week on my own!

still no photos

Cagliostro · 11/03/2017 11:04

Has it seriously been a week already em? Wow!

Awww snuggly glad DD (well she is DD1 now! ❤️) is taking so well to being a big sister! My DSDs are non identical and they apparently did lots of measurements at scans that said they were conceived 5 days apart.

I am feeling somewhat broody myself as met my friend's baby yesterday, we went to a playgroup so her toddler could run around and baby fell asleep on me 😍😍😍 soooo cute and cuddly!

ememem84 · 11/03/2017 11:09

Yep cag one week down. One more to go. can't wait to have him back

Ipsomatic · 11/03/2017 11:34

I suppose when you think about it, the odds of twin non-identical babies being conceived at exactly the same time are actually very low.

Sperm swim at different rates and can survive for long periods, and I suppose it's also unlikely that two eggs would be released at exactly the same time. So it's really quite likely the the two fertilization events would happen on different days. I hadn't ever thought about it before.

Interesting! Well done Snuggly again. All good food and sleep wishes to you!

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2017 12:47

ipso I plan to change to auto in sept, earlier if I can get them to come up with a deal. My knee does not like clutches.

wreck Have you looked into the uniform tax allowance? It's £100 for nurses. They class all sorts of support roles as nurses. Can you put a rug over the pen marks?.

Spent over an hour driving around for clips to put the kickboards back, no where had them and it was £15 to order a set. £4 on eBay. Dh paid.

WreckTangled · 11/03/2017 12:52

Thanks fluffy will do that when I start new job. It's on the stairs Hmm will try some Google magic solutions in a bit.

Ipsomatic · 11/03/2017 13:17

Fluffy Glad it's not just me. My dm just had her hip replaced so I decided to take action on mine while I still have it. This car is 10 years old, so I'm really hoping it's a reliable plodder like the one I have.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 11/03/2017 14:19

Yesterday £39 in Tesco

Spendy day already today. £60 Shock on clothes for both kids but got a lot for that. Including swimming costumes for the summer and jumpers for next winter.

McDonald's for us all but DP paid.

Realised the other day I haven't put petrol in my car since 25th January. Since DP got his new job closer to home he only fills his car up every six weeks too (unless we go on a long journey somewhere) which is such a saving.

He also finally set up his childcare voucher scheme at work. So he should save about £50 per month of tax too as I already get it.

Haven't heard back from the job I applied for Sad

Beeneatingburnttoast · 11/03/2017 14:23

snuggly when you have a newborn anything that makes your life easier goes. Double that with twins!

Oh dear wreck on the carpet. caught my DD drawing on the kitchen cabinets the other day

SnugglySnerd · 11/03/2017 17:24

Oh no, Wreck! I keep meaning to put all the pens out of reach of DD. I might go and do that now...

My lovely dad came round today with packs of nappies and wipes and some treats for DD. I also got the tax rebate from the old car, only £17.50 but every little helps!

Exciting about getting a new car, Ipso, what sort are you getting?

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2017 17:30

NSD & I did loads of surveys to put toward the steamer chair cushions. £27 left to collect now.

Needastrongone · 11/03/2017 17:32

Bugger re the carpet wrecked.

Snuggly, you are doing brill. DH is a non identical twin, with almost exactly the same weights (DH being the small one) Smile Even now, DBiL is stockier and 4 inches taller, so genetics played a part for sure.

Knitting Amazing cake, I had to figure out QOM's after you posted that. I'm obsessed with doing the most mileage in my club. And being the fastest female Grin

Brill nails Creme, I've had mine done too.

Spends
£70 Petrol.
£12 eyebrows for DD.

Ipsomatic · 11/03/2017 17:33

Snuggly It's a ten year old automatic mondeo to replace my ten year old much-loved manual mondeo. I'm really hoping it's in as good condition. Mine has 35k miles on the clock the new one has 48k miles. Smile I'm quite excited about it as it looks in mint condition from the photos online. The RAC inspector is looking it over for me and it will be delivered if he likes it.

Wreck if you snip the top of the pile off the carpet will the pen be gone?

ememem84 · 11/03/2017 17:37

Lovely day. No coat or gloves for riding. Sun was out and it hit 18 degrees here. Yay!!! Daffs out in the fields too so pretty 🌼🌼🌼

No spends other than my riding lesson.

Have just prepped a panzanella salad and put bresceola on a plate for starters for dinner. Willing chicken to defrost for risotto.

Family heading over for 630. I'm taking a break and am mnetting on the couch with a tonic water and squash mmmmmmmm

WreckTangled · 11/03/2017 17:46

No ipso it's not a deep pile carpet

Both dc have been awful today I feel like going out and buying loads of chocolate to make myself feel better. That would ruin my nsd though.

OP posts:
Beeneatingburnttoast · 11/03/2017 18:12

wreck I think you should go and buy the chocolate after a bad day Flowers

£80 saved on car insurance renewal. And £2.30 pending from TCB for getting a quote

blueteapot · 11/03/2017 18:54

Wreck rather than snipping at it if its low pile could you shave at that part slightly...? Or a rug as suggested up thread? Disclaimer - no carpet knowledge whatsoever! Get the chocolate. I would lol.

Have just been to local shop £10 and chinese takeaway for tea £14... sat now with a nice glass of wine and the 'portion of cashew nuts' they gave me instead of 'pork and cashew nuts'... must be the accent

blueteapot · 11/03/2017 18:57

Hold on, hold on. Somethings coming to me about using rubbing alcohol as a solvent for this kind of thing... wait til I consult google

WreckTangled · 11/03/2017 19:06

I tried hairspray. Was going to try nail varnish remover next! She's such a bugger just caught her tucking into my hypo stash too.

OP posts:
Wildernesstips · 11/03/2017 19:11

Alcohol hand gel works well on permanent market on a White board. It may work on carpet.

Such a busy week. Think I have overdone it as have felt exhausted past couple of days. Not spent much though!

Made Jack Monroe's carrot & bean burgers for tea which were lovely.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/03/2017 19:49

I've used monroes recipes, all good. Falafel in pitta bread was nice.

wreck rehome her and focus on the boy Grin

allthebestplease · 11/03/2017 20:10

knitting thanks loads I will do some googling, I just want a simple road/trail bike that I can use on nice days 😊
Snuggly so exciting.
Great cake.
Great Car.
For the carpet have you tried fairy liquid?

Spent £7 on food today. In theory we have £50 for 10 days and will need to go grocery shopping. Hope to do it but the time span includes my birthday so will see.

CremeEggThief · 11/03/2017 20:19

Thanks Need. What colour did you go for? Mine's mauve.

Spends: £16.75 lunch in the café in the naice village nearby for DS and I; £15.78 Co-op top-up shop, which should see us through til Thursday or Friday; £1.90 bus fare home (I walked the 1.7 miles there, even though it was raining). £68 train tickets to London in June on my card.

Tryingtosaveup · 11/03/2017 21:03

Wreck, put her on eBay
Try pure alcohol....isopropyl alcohol (IPA) should do it. It will clean a white board of lots of permanent marker. You may need to get it on line but a pharmacy may stock it. I get it to use for microscopy.
Wow, Snuggly I didn't know you could conceive a few days apart, but it makes sense as Ipso describes it. Accept all the help you can get (and all the chocolate)
