Just used up all the veggies in the fridge and have made myself a pasta sauce. Yum. It's the first time in a long time I've cooked properly. The peanut satay sauce the other day didn't count as it was just peanut butter and stock.

Wildernesstips · 06/03/2017 18:00

Em did you get your cat food from Amazon? That happened to me and they replaced the whole 48 pouch box free ( and only 4 or 5 were affected).

Have been sorting out DS's uni accommodation for next year (or rather paying all the bloody fees)!

Thanks for the tips regarding carpets & underlay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2017 18:10

Nice box need.
And wall id.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 06/03/2017 18:29

Envy at your big box Need it's only polite to share you know..... Wink

Had a busy day, sorting out the cats and the dog is the morning def makes getting out of the house more of a mission. Worked all day and then picked the dog up en route to getting dd from the cm, went straight to a huge field so he had a good walk.

We were all rather muddy when we got home so everyone including the dog has had shower and the washing machine is on.

NSD.

SnugglySnerd · 06/03/2017 19:14

Impressive wall and chocolates bargain!

Have seen some shoes I like online, quite tempted to order them...

mammymammyIRL · 06/03/2017 19:44

Put tablet into a piece of sausage em well that's what we do for dogs
This is the brow set.

Meadow what's the incentive to go to lectures if they can be views online?

The Mighty Frugaleers Meticulously March into March
MeadowHay · 06/03/2017 20:00

Mammy Well, as you can imagine it was a controversial decision on the part of the uni! It is meant to be a revision aid so we can rewatch parts of lectures when revising for exams. I support it 100% as a disabled student. If people don't want to go to lectures then that's up to them, as adults we can take charge of our own learning. For disabled students like me it is the only way to access a lecture when we have been too unwell to go in person and I know a number of other disabled students find it really useful. To be honest I think most people who don't go to the lectures, who are not disabled students, don't watch them online either. They only introduced this last year and there hasn't been a noticeable decrease in people turning up to lectures (attendance to which has been monitored in most departments for years and years). I prefer to go to lectures than watch them online because as I said if I don't do so, I rarely get around to watching them online, there are too many distractions at home. In person I find it much easier to learn plus it gets me out of the house and having a little walk in the fresh air at the very least does me good. Plus you can talk to lecturer afterwards/before if you have a pressing question/issue. And attendance to lectures is monitored in most departments so I presume you could potentially face disciplinary action if you didn't turn up enough without good reason - in the Law school it's not monitored though and never has been, only tutorial attendance is mandatory and the Law school have always maintained that lectures are overviews of the material and therefore can be useful but not mandatory and us as students are largely in charge of the way that we learn, and I support their policy, it has worked well for me as a disabled student.

MeadowHay · 06/03/2017 20:01

I'm really sorry everyone, I don't seem capable of answering questions without massive rants Confused!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/03/2017 20:02

Well done knitting. Very impressive.

Vet meds can usually be crushed and mixed in food. It's not like human meds.

My great aunt only found out about hers when she kept losing pg at the same stage ipsos.

£10 petrol.

allthebestplease · 06/03/2017 20:24

knit great wall.
I went to buy just ham from Waitrose and came out £20 lighter 😒 that shop is my nemesis.

ememem84 · 06/03/2017 20:25

The tablet was easier than I thought. I just put it on too of her food. She ate it. Yay!!

ChristmasSeacow · 06/03/2017 20:39

Shock at knitting's wall! So impressed!

CremeEggThief · 06/03/2017 20:59

Very busy day and "Broadchurch" is about to start, so just updating my spends for now.
£7 travel, £1.05 lime and soda in a pub and £18 shoes for DS from Shoezone.

I'll read through and catch up tomorrow.

Tryingtosaveup · 06/03/2017 21:07

Blimey Knitting, did you really build that wall yourself. I wouldn't know where to start.
Very jealous at the chocs, Need.
Well done Em, on the tablet. I had terrible trouble getting my little cat to take his tablets. I think he knew and just decided he was not having it. Used to have to throw it down his throat.
Snuggly, you must be due any day now...good luck, hope it goes well.
Spendy day here. Staying with DS and DSiL and we went food shopping and had lunch out. Why is it that I still feel the need to pay even though they are fully grown up with kids.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 06/03/2017 21:09

Thanks! I would make a brickie wince as I use my hands (double gloved), and then have to wash off all the excess mortar. But I will sort that garden out. I just need it not to rain all the time. Two more walls and two sets of steps to go there, and then I can get on with raised beds!

em catface must be a super star. My cat seems to have a special pocket for worming tablets, you can hold his mouth shut for ages, feel him swallow and he'll still spit it out.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2017 21:17

Hope she hasn't lulled you into a false sense of security em. Takes it lovely the first time then never again without bribery.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 06/03/2017 21:39

NSD yesterday

LSD
£1.39 on a double cheeseburger

Am reading but can't keep up at the moment!

Cagliostro · 06/03/2017 22:33

Spendy day as took the Caglets to town for a post office errand and bought a few bits in Poundland and then succumbed to the Chinese we've been resisting for too long! I used cash my DGM gave me for Easter though.

Currently setting up DH's sports club sessions and freaking out a bit because demand has rocketed. It may not stay that way of course as not everyone will take to it, but next week when the junior class starts I'm not even sure there'll be space for the Caglets to take part 😱 and that's with two classes! I guess the weather improving is helping!

AdoraBell · 06/03/2017 23:27

WreckTangled · 07/03/2017 06:06

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/03/2017 06:26

Good news cag

Nsd planned today

ememem84 · 07/03/2017 07:00

I think it'll be ok going forwards from re tablets for catface. She really likes food. So we just have to pop them in.

The vet yesterday said that she needs to go back in August for her annual jabs so if she didn't take the worming tablet yesterday not to force it. They can do it in Aug.

She was so scared and he was so lovely and super hot! really gently with her. She was really hissy and fighty last time. This time not so much. So he did as much as he could. Then pushed his luck and checked her teeth. Turns out they're strong.

Getting my nails done today. First time this year Shock then am going to the coop to do a food shop.

I'm having the family round for dinner on Saturday. We're going to have a naice dinner to celebrate bils wedding as I'm not there in person. I'm making risotto and panzanela (or will try...)

Meal plan for this week:

Chicken with salad and leftover pasta sauce tonight
Roasted veggies and couscous weds
Stir fry veggies brown rice Thursday
Pizza Friday
Risotto Saturday
Mum dinner Sunday
Soup Monday

northender · 07/03/2017 08:46

Good news about your dh's sports sessions cag
Picked up a bag of shoes to go to charity shop yesterday but pulled out a pair of ds' old trainers and am cleaning them up to try to sell on eBay. I figure it's worth a shot. I'm building a fund to pay for having the driveway sorted out. So far feb & March council tax money is in there and all ebay selling. Going to start putting the mileage money we are both paid into a separate limited access account to use to replace either car when needed.
On my to do list for today is to check out car insurance deals as dh's is up for renewal in 2 weeks. I ended up with auto renewal on mine last year as it was while I was in hospital so I'm determined not to be caught out again. Also to contact OVO who have put up our direct debit without any obvious reason.
Need to get cottage pie meat mixture going in the slow cooker ready to assemble 1 for tonight's tea & 1 for the freezer.

ememem84 · 07/03/2017 09:06

On my list today aside from the stuff in above post cancel my travel insurance renewal (I'm covered in dhs which he gets with his work), post office to pick up stuff and then chill.

Tryingtosaveup · 07/03/2017 10:31

Chilling here today as well. Should be NSD.
Well done with the sports Cag's DH. You are both very popular tutors.
