Thanks so much for explaining that Meadow I've got her to clarify what help she's getting and it's a printing allowance, shitloads of software, dyslexia aids etc :)

Cagliostro · 05/03/2017 22:33

And yes someone asked about rent, that's covered, she's budgeted for all the scheduled bills it's just after that she's got barely anything for food and anything else needed for study etc! Still being proud though maybe DH will have more luck. But fair play to her, she's trying really hard :)

ChristmasSeacow · 05/03/2017 22:34

My house also a tip. Sorting baby stuff and hence washing everywhere.

Girlie folding knickers?! Shock

Meadow that mentoring scheme sounds brilliant and worth her weight in gold. Amazing how much difference things like that can make. I presume the DSA scheme is government funded (hence the cuts)?

ChristmasSeacow · 05/03/2017 22:41

Ah Cag if food arrives she will be happy! I was at uni before online shopping but my mum used to take me to Big Sainies occasionally and it was such a highlight!

Just bought a big bundle of girls' clothes on Facebook (newborn and 0-3). £10 for about 25 pieces, sounds great! Hopefully they are in good condition (I expect a bit of wear but hopefully no dodgy stains). Lady is even delivering tomorrow. I wish I had known about the local FB groups last time round, it's brilliant for picking up bargains.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 06:12

Eugh worst nights sleep ever. Ds woke me up at 3 and 3:30 and I haven't been able to get back to sleep then dd was up at 5:38 Angry

I just fold my knickers in half, what's the magic way?!

OP posts:
ememem84 · 06/03/2017 06:49

I don't fold my knickers they just get stuffed in a drawer

Catface woke me up at 545. Then just as I was dozing off again dh text.

I've opened the curtains and am watching the rain. A red weather warning has been issued for today. High tides strong winds etc. We are going to the vets. And that's it.

I need to coax catface into her box (will attempt this at 830) apt isn't until 930. And it'll take about 20 minutes to get there. I'd do it now but then she'd be trapped for a while and I don't think she'd like that. Trying to limit box time.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2017 06:50

New boiler starting today. Have a pile of stuff to eBay and ziffit do will hide in the garage for a bit.
Nsd planned

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2017 06:52

Folding underwear, what fresh hell is this???Grin
I'm a drawer stuffer too

Take care em. I agree last minute box if catface doesn't like it.

Needastrongone · 06/03/2017 06:55

Grin at Life!

I stuff tooSmile

SnugglySnerd · 06/03/2017 07:09

I love all my Kondo folded pants and socks, they make me happy when I open my drawer and I get really cross if dh puts the washing away wrong

All this talk of planes and stop overs in exotic locations is making me want a holiday. I don't think I can face long haul with 2 babies and a 3 yo though so it'll probably be Devon!

I had a terrible night's sleep too. Fidgeted until 12.30 when DH got fed up and made me a drink. Think I went to sleep after that but woke up early.

Staying in today. My Occado treats online shop is arriving and will need putting away but apart from that I plan to watch rubbish tv and do as little as possible.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 07:15

Guess who hasn't been paid?! Hmm

The dc both need new sandals for NZ and due to foot issues need ones that are about £40 each. So I'm selling all my shoes I don't wear on eBay plus their outgrown crocs (they use for swimming). I'm going to keep it all for this purpose seems logical I think.

Going food shopping today, struggling with meal ideas might go back through the thread and look at everyone else's.

Em we have a nightmare getting the cat into his box! Especially as he's so big!

OP posts:
ememem84 · 06/03/2017 07:31

Oh man wreck that's not good!!

Just face timed dh bil and sil.

I'm so glad I didn't fly. Someone threw up on dhs last flight. Eugh. Right behind him. Eugh. Luckily with only a couple of hours to go but still. Eugh.

I've shut all the doors and have restricted catface to the hallway and our bedroom. She knows!!!! And is being all cute.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 07:59

Oh em that's making me feel queasy. I can't cope with sick. Ds was sick the other day and I had to leave it for Dh to clean up BlushGrin it was only about ten minutes but I just can't do it.

Dh's boss phones, his card reader has broken apparently. He will pay him as soon as he picks a new one up today.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 06/03/2017 08:28

Why does he need a card reader Wreck? Unless he or DH have a new account surely DH's details are already saved on his payee list - you only need the card reader the first time you pay someone new. At least that's the case with Natwest anyway, could be different with other banks I guess.

Cagliostro · 06/03/2017 08:30

I didn't sleep well either, dozed off briefly around midnight then couldn't sleep till 2. Woke up early as DH arrived home from PTing his client.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2017 09:18

Oh wreck that's shite.

ememem84 · 06/03/2017 09:19

Me neither wreck I sort of wish he hadn't told me. I'd have been off the plane!

We are at the vets. She hissed a bit re the box. But then just froze so I scooped her up and popped her in. We think it's her fear response. She just freezes and makes herself very small. She's sat in the box shaking now. But we did it. #proudcatmummy

Ipsomatic · 06/03/2017 09:24

We're still pottering along here. It's tense stuff having a dm in hospital. I'm going to Tesco and doing washings as a keeping-busy mechanism.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/03/2017 09:49

Can you get up there for a quick visit Ipso? It's hard being at a distance. I guess DS school is a barrier - could DH manage DS without you for 48 hrs?

£10 baby bundle was delivered by nice lady and it is amazing - lots of JL stuff including pram suit, lovely coat, as well as vests, babygros etc. I really think she underpriced it!

Cough still bad and I have horrible stress incontinence too Sad. Feeling really gorgeous right now.

MeadowHay · 06/03/2017 10:42

Ipso Hope everything's ok Flowers.

Seacow Poor thing, I hope you feel better soon. Have a Brew and take care of yourself. & yes DSA is funded by the government, hence the recent cuts Sad. It doesn't affect people like me who had our entitlement made before the cuts came into affect but will affect new cohorts of students, I think this year's the first. My PG academic mentor herself is now doing a PHD and still gets DSAs but she told me it is much less than what she got on her masters & undergrad now that they've made a lot of cuts.

Wreck Poor kitty. One of my mam's cats is absolutely terrified of the vets and it takes about three people to chase her around and grab her and stuff her in the carrier, it's traumatic for everyone involved (and painful...those claws Shock).

So exhausted and anxious I couldn't wake up in time so have missed two lectures, sigh. One of them was a revision lecture as well. On the plus side all our lectures are recorded and put online now so I can watch them later. I never ever do though which is why I try my best to go!! But the revision one I will make sure I make time to watch as that should be really useful.

Should be NSD as just going to uni for a mentoring session later and then one more lecture.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 10:48

Yes Cag I'm with natwest. Dh is with Barclays and he needs his card reader every time he logs in.

Oh no seacow! The incontinence is so glamorous second time round Blush

£63 lidl
£8 wilkos but that was eye liner, baking parchment and four little crafty things to save for on the plane luckily Ds didn't see me buying them.

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 06/03/2017 11:37

Is this quite common? No one seems to talk about it! Weak pelvic floors yes but not completely incompetent bladders Blush. I am sitting here doing my squeezes but TBH I can't see it making enough of a functional difference.

If it doesnt improve drastically after this baby I'm getting it seen to!

meadow hang on in there. Lectures on line sounds brilliant!

WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 11:38

Meal plan:

Pasta bolognese
Kievs and mash with sautéed cabbage and leeks
Seven veg pasta bake
Spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, olives and mozzarella balls
Pizza (swimming)
Freezer food night (have veggie burgers etc)

Seem to be a meal short Blush I'll work it out...

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 06/03/2017 11:39

Well mine wasn't too bad but I tended to leak in the day without realising it so ended up wearing pads the whole time. Fine now mind you, unless I get on a trampoline...

OP posts:
ememem84 · 06/03/2017 11:48

She bit the vet (he pushed his luck and tried to check her teeth). And she weighs 5kg. So is now on a bit of a diet. Cost me £77.

Back home now and getting on with chores. My aim for today is to do a shopping list and meal plan, spring clean the bedroom and put all clean washing away. And Hoover.
