Hi guys, been awol for a few days, just been soo busy.

Today spent £1 on a cup of tea whilst at work in my SU, but I had to work in an area where the doors were constantly opening and closing and I was absolutely freezing so I don't regret that.

Our shopping from Asda is getting delivered tonight but guess I paid for that yesterday when I did it online. Can't remember how much that was, think about £65 but there was a duvet set in there that cost like £13 so that put it up more than normal.

Feeling horrid at the moment. I suffer really badly with exhaustion and I often get so tired that all my muscles start aching, it's horrible. GP says exhaustion is just caused by my anxiety disorder, makes sense if I'm so anxious all the time, it is really exhausting for the body to be stuck in fight-or-flight for such long lengths of time. Tbf I haven't actually told her about the muscle aches I get as well when I'm this tired but probably she will say it's the same thing as when I had more problems with neck & backache she said she thought it was related to my poor mental health. It's irritating because when you have MH problems doctors tend to just explain everything away by saying it's because of that - but I know MH problems can cause physical symptoms so it could well be that. Was planning to try a new recipe for vegetable balti tonight for tea for DH and I but so exhausted so think I will just do something easy to shove in the oven, he'll understand ofc. Sad

CremeEggThief · 25/01/2017 19:59

My DS is like that with baked beans, Snuggly. I only ever get to have good old (veggie) sausages, chips and beans about twice a year!

Butter beans are good for casseroles or hotpots, Italian. Any kind of beans are really, but IMO, butter beans are great in them.

I too like snakes and lizards, but I couldn't have them as pets, due to what they eat! I'm just as scared of dead mice and rats as live!

CremeEggThief · 25/01/2017 20:06

MeadowHay, I'm by no means an expert, but your symptoms could fit with fibromyalgia. I'm currently well, but have been diagnosed with CFS, so the fatigue plus the muscle aches and joint pain you have, are symptoms of fibromyalgia.

SnugglySnerd · 25/01/2017 20:14

It's weird I like any other sort of bean it's just baked beans!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 25/01/2017 20:18

Thats the only drawback to reptiles... the lizard eats live locusts, grim. They jump. And escape. Dp got my snake some frozen gerbils to try. I actually cried, the poor things. We stick to rats, they're usually white, but still look way too much like pets. We have agreed no more live rodent pets, after dd3's guinea pig died in the summer (it was 6).

Sorry to be grim! Here's Derek taking over thunderbirds 2! That's a 5' long snake squeezing into about 4x5 inch box. Dd1 had to wait 2 hours for him to climb out.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2017 20:21

Derek's beautiful.

ChristmasSeacow · 25/01/2017 20:26

Italian I think the baked beans help because they add a bit of sauce, if you see what I mean. If you use plain beans of any sort I think it would still work, but I'd go for beans that will soften well and thicken the sauce a bit, perhaps with a wee squirt of tomato purée too. Butter beans may work, as suggested up thread, or plain haricot or black eye peas. But kidney beans are worth a try if they are a favourite, they just may be a bit firmer.

Lol at the bean hate Grin

Beeneatingburnttoast · 25/01/2017 20:39

NSD but stayed home from work unwell

Also a baked bean detester. Smell, taste and even the look- everything I hate! Baked bean adverts upset me Blush

SnugglySnerd · 25/01/2017 20:41

I didn't realise the baked ben hate was widespread, thought I was the only one!

Brightermornings · 25/01/2017 20:44

Another baked bean hater!! Sometimes I wish I liked them so I'd eat beans on toast jacket potato and beans but I just can't.
Spends today

60p coffee at work
60p sandwich

Had to fill up 46.35 also needed a retirement card 1.85. Ordered a £10 amazon voucher to go in the card.
Feeling down today constantly thinking about money or lack of it.

ememem84 · 25/01/2017 20:46

Omg knitting the snakes...I'm not keen on snakes. They're pretty colours though. Just couldn't have them in the house. I'd be too afraid they'd eat me.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/01/2017 20:47

Try cannelini beans as they are un baked baked beans.
Sorry I can't find reptile love but cute cats.
When we refurbished this house (70s semi) we put in loads of insulation. Max my heating is 19 degrees.
£19 Morrison's today. Did body combat but was rubbish as too much cake and food too near class time.

The job I didn't get is being advertised externally. Do I reapply with different examples or will I look too desperate?

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/01/2017 20:48

Hope poorly frugaleers get well soon. No sympathy for the self inflicted though em Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/01/2017 21:02

Bake bean hate?? Shock I love my beans!! Although I can only eat them when really hot and well cooked through and couldn't eat them on a spud although thats one of dds favourite teas!!

I am still a snot monster, so annoying!! Going to bed in a min...

Mammy I guess you have to weigh up what it is you get from the relationship Flowers I have a low tolerance for men who behave like children though!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/01/2017 21:12

I like baked beans straight from the tin cold

Leaves you all with that thought for tonight.

CremeEggThief · 25/01/2017 21:30

Oh Life!Shock I do like baked beans, but I have a lot of rules around them. Eating them cold is a rule I could never break!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2017 21:41

life Did you get feedback on why you didn't get the job?.

brighter I get like that too

MeadowHay · 25/01/2017 22:05

I get the baked bean hate - as a child I didn't like them at all. Then gradually kept forcing myself to eat them throughout my teens and now I like them! I like them on a cooked breakfast, or on jacket potato, or with chips and pie or something. Cheap and fairly healthy, I try to buy the low-salt ones.

Creme I've thought for a couple of years I might have CFS and/or fibro, I should probably talk to the GP next time I'm there about my pain although they are aware of my problems with exhaustion and how much I sleep. I think they would be reluctant to give me a formal diagnosis of anything else though because they would assume it's related to my mental health which may be true. Plus afaik there is not much effective treatment for CFS & fibro is there? Glad to hear you are well now though.

Shopping from Asda has arrived. The frozen veggie things I was most excited about trying have all been substituted for more boring versions! Not happy! -.-

Cagliostro · 26/01/2017 00:00

Ha, I knew before I got to the explanation that it was a thunderbird 2 box the (also gorgeous) snake was in! DS has a similar T2.

Cold beans? Nooooo. Love them but not cold. I am really craving a cooked breakfast. Might suggest we get the stuff for it next time we get a grocery delivery, it's not something we really do at home. BHS was our greasy spoon spot but it's gone now.

Meadow sorry you feel so rubbish. At least get them to do a load of blood tests - it may be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency or something like thyroid issues that can be medicated. It is simply NOT ok to fob you off just because you have mental health issues. Not at all.

The thing about CFS and fibro is that they ARE often stress/anxiety related, but people often take that to mean that it's psychosomatic :( when that's not what it means at all. Some people's bodies react differently to stress and it literally changes your body (this is why the professor who diagnosed me said that he reckoned the abuse I suffered as a child made me more likely to end up with CFS - basically things like that irreparably fuck up your body's stress response). And yet some diagnostic criteria say you can't have a CFS diagnosis if you've previously had depression... which might just be caused by said trauma. Aaaaargh.

Sorry will stop ranting now! But as a veteran of MH issues and now having had CFS/fibro for a good few years it is something I feel very strongly about. Anyway, I hope you can get your symptoms taken seriously. Thanks

Fluff, I didn't get through the sift at application stage but yes I got feedback.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2017 06:53

Try again then, it's nothing to lose apart from a bit of form filling time.

confusedandemployed · 26/01/2017 07:04

Morning everyone, I was MIA yesterday. DD still off with the pox so we spent a couple of hours in bed with iPads and then I worked til 9.30.
I spent £12.75 in Tesco on my break but money already accounted for - paid with cash that DH gave me for his computer, which I've tracked coming out of my private account. Bought a pack of 32 batteries for £10, we did this about a year ago in Tesco and the batteries are great - own brand but last ages. Just run out so I restocked. I'd buy rechargeable but for some things they're just not worth the expense.

Loving the moggy pics! Snakes...not so much! I'm a dog person though, here's a pic of my lovely old Fred with DD. 15 this year!

Interested in the smart meter chat - can anyone explain if I can get a free one from somewhere? Minor claim to fame - the chap who invented them used to be a friend. Lovely man.

Hoping for NSD today. In work til 4.

SnugglySnerd · 26/01/2017 07:41

confused our energy supplier just called up to arrange to fit ours for free (if we wanted it). The government have a target or something to get all households fitted with them in the next few years so I imagine all energy companies are doing it. Worth giving them a call?

DD at nursery. Going to have a lazy morning before hospital later. Still in bed!

ememem84 · 26/01/2017 07:50

Should be nsd today. Lunch is packed (cheese and cucumber sandwich bit boring but free...!)

Going spinning after work so gym bag is all ready to go too.

My gym has just released a new app which I can book my classes etc on and keep track of my workouts. Super useful.
