Small spends today, £3 Xmas Big Issue, £4 ish coffee with DH, he had his hair cut, then £6 snack for DD later, she needed Xmas shopping.

AdoraBell · 03/12/2016 23:01

Xmas Hmm posted too soon. Beatiful baby Italian, congratulations Thanks

Cagliostro · 03/12/2016 23:09

I'm tempted to try them as well em

northender · 03/12/2016 23:21

Mooncup here too, it's fab.

WreckTangled · 04/12/2016 07:32

Might go and get our tree today. Then this afternoon is the village childrens Christmas party. Already paid for tickets so everything there will be free.

Wildernesstips · 04/12/2016 07:39

Grin Snuggly re your automatic pet feeder!

At the event I worked at yesterday there was a stall from our local waste partnership all about food waste - really useful website: www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/content/love-food-hate-waste-homepage

ememem84 · 04/12/2016 08:31

I'm also tempted re mooncuo. But also afraid of it. (And they're pricey initially).

But benefits (moneywise and eco wise) I think outweigh the ick factor.

I may order on payday.

Other big spend this month will be my gym for next year. If I pay now it'll be £423 for the year. If I wait until January £432. It's also cheaper to pay on a lump sum (works out at £35 a month instead of their pay monthly fee of £42.) and I can freeze it if I'm away.

Poor credit card...

CollieMonster · 04/12/2016 08:38

wreck your village sounds lovely! We have no community spirit here at all. Xmas Sad it's something that I would love if we move.

wilderness that love food hate waste link is really useful! Especially the meal ideas. Thank you :)

WreckTangled · 04/12/2016 08:50

Collie yes it is nice. It's very very small but they still do village lunches every week and bingo plus drinks and mince pies Christmas Day so no one is on their own.

My washing machine is broken, it's not heating up so assume it's the element. It will
Probably be about £100 to fix (if that's the problem). It's eight years old and has a couple of bra wires in it so wondering if it's worth fixing or replacing.

ememem84 · 04/12/2016 09:30

wilderness great link! Some really useful ideas there.

We're pretty good at not wasting food - with the exception being last nights curry. There is enough left to have another meal. But I forgot about it and left it sitting uncovered in the pan all night. Sad

Earlier this year I went on an eco/recycling drive. Separated all paper/cardboard and plastic from our rubbish with the intention of recycling it. We used loads. A scary amount.

When I took it to the recycling place only certain types of plastic were allowed. And I have no storage here to keep going. Sent a letter to our parish hall (equivalent of council I suppose) to suggest recycling initiative. But so far no response. We do it at work. But our office is in the main town which has a recycling collection.

When we get our forever home with garage I'm setting up a recycling station. And am getting a composter. Smile

Cagliostro · 04/12/2016 09:41

That's the dream Em!

Cagliostro · 04/12/2016 09:43

Wreck back when DS was still breastfed DH once dismantled our washing machine to find a shredded washable breast pad 😳😳😳

mammymammyIRL · 04/12/2016 09:48

Checking in again, dh brought me breakfast in bed. I'm so so tired, work is hectic atm, must get up though as dh is going out Sad

Congrats italian

Will check in with everyone else later on, better get up!

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/12/2016 09:59

wreck At eight years old you could probably replace for £200 & get something cheaper to run. Or you might be able to fit an element yourself for a few quid & a YouTube video.

Yesterday was £9 on a garland. We bought two cheap garlands in Argos & a set of lights in b&q. Dh decorated it with baubles & it looks lovely on the mantelpiece. £18 but we paid half each.

We had company last night & I cooked the lidl frozen turkey crown for £8 in a normal size roasting bag. It was really nice so I will get another one for Xmas day. Loads of meat on it. Not a bit bland either or dry.

ememem84 · 04/12/2016 10:41

cag sometimes I dream big (Argentina/pony) most of the time it's more realistic stuff (composter/garden/garage/a staircase!!!)

I like to think that despite the fact my job means I'm surrounded by wealthy people I'm fairly grounded.

wreck if it's that old and will cost that much to fix I'd suggest opting for a new one. Ours was £300 I think. It's a Bosch series 4 (I only know this because I'm perched on the kitchen stool and can see it). It's quiet. At max speed it's only 60db (which according to my decibel monitoring app is no louder than a conversation). Which considering it's in our open plan kitchen living area isn't bad.

Lunch with a friend today. Fancy-ish restaurant but they do a deal for 2 courses and a glass of wine for £15pp. Not bad. And portions are huge.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/12/2016 11:44

Em, the curry will be fine as long as it's reheated well. I'm really bad at food hygiene and so that all the time and we are still alive.
£91 sainsburys but returned £13 of stuff.

ememem84 · 04/12/2016 11:56

life I didn't want to risk it - it was chicken curry... so it's been binned. BlushAngry if it's been a veggie one I would have saved it.

I must must get into the ha IT of portioning it out into Tupperware as soon as I've plated up dinner.

ememem84 · 04/12/2016 12:08

*habit.

WreckTangled · 04/12/2016 12:15

Hmm might look into new ones. Will have to get it pay monthly Blush

£56 on a Christmas tree and stand
£10 on three ridiculously expensive delicious sausage rolls.

Roast chicken in the oven, Christmas music on and tree about to go up Xmas Smile

Cagliostro · 04/12/2016 12:15

Argh so the cillit bang stuff that was supposed to help the mould on the bath sealant... hasn't. Any suggestions?

mammymammyIRL · 04/12/2016 12:23

I'm 'spring' cleaning this morning.
And doing laundry & general tidy up stuff. And have bathed & dressed ds. Dd had swimming yesterday so she's clean must get her dressed soon too.
At 3pm the toy show is on & I'm not doing any more work then. We'll be decorating tree but I can handle that.
I slept through it fri night Grin

Tomo night I go out for dinner with my cuz who's paying as I paid last time Grin

13.5 more days at work as I've a half day fri & following fri off.

wreck Littlewoods often do a code buy now pay interest free six months later would that help with washing machine?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/12/2016 12:24

Smartprice bleach sprayed on?. Failing that you can remove & redo for a few quid on silicone.

Tryingtosaveup · 04/12/2016 12:45

YY t o bleach sprayed on Cag.
Blinding headache here. Think migraine is back.

Cagliostro · 04/12/2016 12:53

Ok thanks. Doing a Tesco order to include cleaning stuff, we are running out of sponges and kitchen roll etc.
What would we scrub it off with? I was thinking of value toothbrushes?

Also how do I get rid of the pop up a2 milk ad that is taking up half the screen on the mobile site Angry

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/12/2016 14:04

I'd leave it overnight and wipe in the morning, then reapply a second night.
