They're only 4 months old male cats fluffy dh said there has been a hawk around lately. I don't know.

I'm going to make stewed Apple from our own apples for dessert with custard this evening.

Really lazy day here, dh got up with dc (previously unheard of) and cooked breakfast! Smile I got up at ten, we all painted pictures, dc had baths & put on fresh pjs, I've been pottering around all day in mine. Made roast veg soup at lunch that will be lunch one day this week Smile
Must strip a slow cooked chicken see if it's a mn chickenGrin

I had a really nice slouchy bag once, can't remember the shop it was from but the brand was SoulCal.

I've had a potteringly productive sort of afternoon, bagging up a few things for charity and suchlike.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/09/2016 17:08

The rescues neuter before four months over here, if the vets can see them they can remove them.

They wanted mine to wait till 6 months but he was a little shit bag and I wanted him done ASAP.

It'd need to be a huge hawk to take a cat, some of them can barely manage to lift pigeons.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/09/2016 17:21

Around 4 months I think hormones kick in in male cats, I remember mine going for a wander around that age and when he came back he had a certain swagger about him Hmm so he was booked in for the double crunch pronto Grin hope yours turns up soon.

Wreck your cat is so funny! Like a big fluffy blanket!!

I have had a funny sort of day, dd has been off in Cardiff all day at a big Roald Dahl centenary celebration. Was really anxious about her going this morning as there is something like 35000 additional people expected in Cardiff this wend Shock hopefully she will have had a fab time though. Am so proud of her, she is so much braver than me, there is no way I would have done something like that as a child but she wasn't phased at all.

Spends today
£5 spending money to dd
£3 toiletries
£12 clothes in Primark

Also gave dd £2 for her tooth that fell out last night!!

I have spent the afternoon cleaning out my car which was so grim Blush

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/09/2016 17:23

Oh just read my post through and feel like I should clarify that dd has gone with her drama group and leaders to Cardiff, I didn't just send her off on her own!! Grin

AGenie · 18/09/2016 17:51

That sounds great Girlie. I hope she has a good time.

Creme I'm just the same about bags. I happen to really like one that Clarks have been making for years. They only cost a tenner, which really helps.

AGenie · 18/09/2016 18:26

Creme this is mine here: www.clarks.co.uk/p/26117906

I'm unreasonably excited about all of the pockets inside.

Cagliostro · 18/09/2016 18:29

Ooh I saw on facebook about the Cardiff thing, a giant peach rolling through the city or something?

Made a really yummy and pretty frugal dinner. Layered rice (brown, frozen done in micro), boiled carrot slices (also frozen), chicken pieces cooked in passata onion and cream cheese, then cheddar on top grilled to meat. Bit of a random chucked together thing but it was le yum!

Cagliostro · 18/09/2016 18:30

Err grilled to MELT not meat! :)

CremeEggThief · 18/09/2016 18:40

I like that, AGenie, but it's just a bit smaller than I'm looking for. Lots of pockets are always good.

Tryingtosaveup · 18/09/2016 18:45

AGenie I really like that bag too. It's what I need as I put so much rubbish in mine I can't usually close it at all.
Lilac, hope boy cat comes home soon.
Girlie, I admire your DD too and am jealous. I was reading about the Ronald Dahl celebrations on the bbc news site. It looks fab.

Tryingtosaveup · 18/09/2016 19:00

Forgot to say 10th NSD
Just sold stuff for £148 so that will go in savings.

Collieballs · 18/09/2016 19:27

girlie I saw that online! Looks so fun.

We ended up spending £7 at Argos.

Mummyshortlegz · 18/09/2016 19:48

Nsd. Dh took ds1 to our park with some friends this morning and then this afternoon we went to our loca national trust and walked four miles. Came home to slow roast pork and crackling. Saved most of the meat for two more meals this week. We had Apple crumble for pudding with apples my mum brought me last week. They were delicious.

I put the washing machine on to be finished just as we were getting up and I got it straight out. Took all day to dry as no wind but it dried.

lilacclery · 18/09/2016 20:03

Nsd

Wow girlie that sounds like a great day out for your dd, have any of you read Roald Dahl books for adults

WreckTangled · 18/09/2016 20:11

He's funny. Unfortunately we found two fleas on him earlier ffs.

WreckTangled · 18/09/2016 20:12

Sorry that was to girlie Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/09/2016 20:29

She is home and did have a fab time Smile it sounds amazing and have just seen link to it on fb as well. She says her favourite bit was the giant peach Cag!

Lila I have but years ago, some of them were quite dark I thought - his childhood was quite grim really.

Wreck what flea treatment do you use? Advocate is the only one that works on my two.

WreckTangled · 18/09/2016 20:29

Dd's still getting told off for reading a whole book. I'm getting pissed off with it. I wrote a note to her teacher who responded very informatively about how we need to discuss the story more and talk about the words etc so more discussing and less reading. So we've started discussing but she still wants to read and then Friday there was a HIGHLIGHTED note saying 'remember miniwreck NOT the whole book in one night' ffs. I'm just going to stop writing in her reading diary.

Ememem84 · 18/09/2016 20:35

I really enjoyed boy and going solo.

And the wonderful story of Henry sugar (my fave in that one was the one with the "blind" yogi. And the boy with the turtle (it may have been renamed tales of the unexpected).

I re read Charlie and the chocolate factory a while ago. It's a bit dark...

Wonderfully written though.

SnugglySnerd · 18/09/2016 20:41

That does not sound like a good day, Lilac, hope your foot is ok and your cat turns up safe and well.
My moggy has been sick yet again so back to the vet again this week - 3rd week running!

CremeEggThief · 18/09/2016 20:47

Oh no, SnugglySad.

I loved "Boy" when I read it about 5 years ago, but I haven't got around to "Going Solo" yet, even though DS has a copy. Can anyone guess which film we saw yesterday, speaking of Roald Dahl?Smile

Sierra259 · 18/09/2016 21:00

Hope your cat turns up soon lilac. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for your move collie
£20 on top up - have been really naughty about that recently, must be a bit more organised. Spent day at the park and making/decorating cookies with DC1. Still slowly getting through the holiday washing, but the weather isn't helping! Just done online shop £43. Meal plan -
Monday - Quorn spag bol
Tues - Jacket potato, beans and cheese
Wed - Honey and soy salmon
Thurs - chicken curry
Friday - spicy prawns and pak choi
Sat - Tuna pasta bake with veg and olives
Sun - at a christening so will eat buffet food

Sorely tempted to go up to bed now - the DC have both been rubbish overnight for a week now and am knackered!

Cagliostro · 18/09/2016 22:25

Ooh Wreck I'd be pissed at that. Sounds like a rather patronising approach Hmm how exactly is telling a child to stop reading supposed to help them to, erm, love reading? FFS. If your DD understands and can discuss what she's read then that's fine IMO.

Will need to get the Caglets some new socks soon. We've pretty much been through all their clothes and we ditched a load of undies/socks that are too small or holey. They were thrilled when I pointed out the new ones can be coloured/patterned etc and they realised they don't have to wear boring school socks anymore Blush :o

Also DD has asked if in future she can get her clothes from the boys' section. She is really annoyed at the amount of cutesy slogans and the abundance of pink and lack of dinosaurs on girls' clothing. I doubt she will end up getting everything from there TBH as she prefers leggings etc (although she did request a pair of joggers for DH's sports club - massive deal for a kid with sensory issues around clothing, she has NEVER willingly worn joggers before). But I will be very glad to get some stuff from there as then DS can grow into it too.

WreckTangled · 19/09/2016 06:35

Cag apparently sainsburys 25% off starts today. I need to get ds some new socks so I'm going to pop in there. Dd needs vests too.
