Hi again.

Birthday party went okay. I managed to stay awake and chat. Then went home and had another two hour nap while my mum watched DS so I feel slightly better.

My pay has been messed up three weeks in a row. It will no doubt be messed up this week too.

I'm hoping when I go to work tonight I'm not moved to where I was last night. I think I will literally cry.

This week I need to buy a bbq as I offered to have one for my brothers stag do. So I'm on the look out for a cheapish bbq. I'm not sure whether to get a gas one. I think I'd prefer one to be honest. I just want a good deal so if anyone has seen any good deals let me know.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/07/2016 20:31

Would you need to pay a deposit for the gas canister? Sometimes they have a deposit the same as the cost of the can.

Our first calor gas heater canister was £70.

Colliefeatures · 30/07/2016 20:36

Yo!

Er. Spent £78 in Sainsbury's Shock
And then £4 at a beach carpark. The beach was so busy it wasn't very fun. I think we'll stay away from the coast until September now. But we'll still go kayaking as we paddle up secluded creeks / beaches and its free parking.

Better go back to having quite a few NSDs. If anybody here picks blackberries - can you let me know when you go picking? As I keep forgetting & Im worried I'll miss them. Last year we picked so much, I loved it. Someone on this thread gave me a bit of a phobia of maggots though. GrinGrin

I'm looking into moving banks. Such a ball ache but RBS are proper crap

Badders123 · 30/07/2016 20:37

Collie...first direct give you £150 for switching
Was really easy

ipsogenix · 30/07/2016 21:04

LOL Fluffy I like that you think I'd be Linux. Smile

Italian I hadn't realised that it was smoke that ebay things smelled of. I thought it was really bad air freshener. Lightbulb moment. Smile

Lovely to see you again Collie. I have been missing you too! Smile

Sorry to hear about the dizzyness Em. Definitely worth asking. Blocked ears do sound like a clue though. Are your fingernails white when it happens? That means hyperventilation with me.

I've been having a very frugal month. Our grocery bill is down and my plan to spend money on the garden totally failed. It turns out that I'm really enjoying doing the work myself with a spade and dh and ds are enjoying it too. Smile

We're still researching how to increase the iron in ds's diet, but it's not turning out to be that hard because everything I've offered him, he's really liked.

Has anybody else given dc the men b vaccine? I'd like to get it for ds but am wondering what the side effects are like.

ItalianWiking84 · 30/07/2016 21:13

Ipso: that's one of the reason I only buy stuff I can pick up and the fact that eBay dosent exist here.

Tryingtosaveup · 30/07/2016 22:53

Blimey, is there no eBay in Denmark. I thought it was everywhere except North Korea.
I still have to get a nectar card. I always think it's not worth it because each point is about 0.1p isn't it. Need some advice.
I have just started saving all my 50p coins in a very large tub. I am determined not to dip into it. I am saving up to get cloackroom (downstairs with toilet ) refurbished completely with all new ( and non disgusting and modern) stuff . And I need a shower putting in upstairs.
The plumber is supposed to be coming with a builder to look at it and work out a price. He keeps cancelling but he says definitely he'll come on the 10th.
I am trying to be frugal and am just looking for extra ways to save.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/07/2016 23:01

There's a survey site called e rewards, you can get a nectar card, register as a business nectar user (still works) and get loads of points.

Sometimes I buy petrol and spend what I've saved on what I want.

ItalianWiking84 · 31/07/2016 06:16

Lol trying nope no eBay or Amazon.

WreckTangled · 31/07/2016 06:27

Collie we were with first direct and they're really good. Highly recommend.

Sold some bits on a selling site for £50 Shock really pleased as we desperately need the money for the summer holidays.

Today dd has a birthday party to go to. It's forty minutes away in the nearest big town. We don't want to spend any money whilst we wait for her so we're going to take Ds to the park they've got nearby. Will need to pay for parking which will be £1.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/07/2016 06:32

Got a birthday party today and dh wants some stuff from a sports shop. ££ no doubt

Colliefeatures · 31/07/2016 08:04

Waves to Ipsos

Nectar points are totally worth it if you shop at Sainsbury's often. We use Mycoupons and tend to save around £50 a year for Christmas. We don't shop there every week but we tend to get fuel there. We've recently redeemed money to pay for cheeky top up shops ;). You can also get Nectar offers in Homebase and on eBay. If we didn't have Sainsbury's and Homebase nearby I probably wouldn't bother though.

I only got a Boots card last year. Boots are my opticians and we go to Boots for calpol, dental stuff, hair stuff. The points I earn pay for my nail polish addiction! Blush

Thank you for your bank recommendations. Will investigate when DS is asleep at lunch.

NSD planned today.

Ememem84 · 31/07/2016 08:08

Hang on...italian no eBay or Amazon in Denmark?? Wow. Never knew that.

I did a bad (ish) thing last night. Picked Dh up from the wedding. He was very drunk. As he got in the car he told me we'd also be driving three others back. I hate it when he does this they all pile in and I find out I have to go from one end of the island to the other. After we get home Dh jokes about how much taxi fare they've all saves and how much does he owe me. I told him £25 per person. (Actually reasonable for s proper taxi here at that time of night). He pulled the cash out of his wallet and handed it over. It's gone in out savings jar. bad wife

Badders123 · 31/07/2016 08:31

Girlie...
Children up to 17 have the nasal spray now
If you are in the uk your child will receive the vaccine at school up to year 6 (was year 7 but they changed it)
I have to pay for mine (£10) but dh (and DC) get theirs free as they are asthmatic

WreckTangled · 31/07/2016 10:51

We're spring cleaning

Whataboutwhathuh · 31/07/2016 10:56

I've just done my bullet journal pages for the next month, filled in my budget frackers and checked my bank account and YNAB. I really should be doing laundry but I've hurt my leg so that's out. I'm going to shit tip my hand bag though, I'm trying to do it at the end of each calendar month.

Dh has taken Wilf to a play session at gymastics and Gabriel is napping so I am enjoying some peace. Tomorrow we are going to a (very) local theme park we have never been to. I won some love to shop vouchers on here so that will cover 95% of the day :-))

Ememem84 · 31/07/2016 11:43

Have just been out for breakfast. Bacon and sausage rolls and two mugs of tea £11. But. Look at my breakfast view. And my breakfast. Yum.

Home now. Trying to get our internet radio to work. It won't pick up any stations Sad

Spag Bol for dinner. Yummy.

Greetings from Florida Smile

It's 7am and I am sat by the pool at our villa with a steaming mug of fresh coffee. Bliss.

Had a great flight over (premium class is fab!) and a fun and busy day at Animal Kingdom Park yesterday. Was very hot, but the queues for the rides were great and pretty much hardly queued all day. Festival of the Lion King was spectacular.

Today is Islands of Adventure (big rollercoasters!)

Ipsos you would be in gluten fee heaven in the supermarkets, the variety on offer is quite simply amazing and the labelling incredibly detailed.

CremeEggThief · 31/07/2016 12:22

Have a superb holiday, NeedSmile.

needastrongone · 31/07/2016 12:32

Grin @ shit tipping a hand bag, I have to do that loads, no idea how all the crap gets there in the first place!

Thanks, Creme. Smile

Whataboutwhathuh · 31/07/2016 12:33

Have a lovely time need! I need to start a Florida fund for when my boys are old enough. Islands of adventure was excellent when we went a few years ago.

Whataboutwhathuh · 31/07/2016 12:35

Need - the highlight was several fruit shoot caps (he has them very very rarely but obviously stashes the kids! If I do it once a month I feel more in control. I even remember to keep a carrier bag or two in there!

Ememem84 · 31/07/2016 12:44

I need to do a handbag shit tip. No idea what's lurking in there....

need have an amazing time! Make sure to get m&ms. Peanut butter. Birthday cake. Mint. Raspberry. Yum. That's the only thing I have to buy when we go to the us. We can only get regular chocolate or peanut here. Boooorrrrring!

CremeEggThief · 31/07/2016 12:47

Top tip: get a small bag! Here's what I keep in mine- shopper folded up in the front pocket; headphones for phone; diary, pen, purse and keys in main part; mobile in mobile pocket; Vaseline, tic tacs, tissues, hand cream (mini), hand gel (mini), mirror, plaster and paracetamol in zipped pocket.

needastrongone · 31/07/2016 12:52

Thanks, What. We did Florida when the DC were little, but they were too small for the rides in Islands of Adventure, they love rides so are excited about going. I love rides too ha! DD is desperate to do Harry Potter world, but we will save that for another day.

My bag always contains receipts for tiny purchases, leaflets that folk have chucked into my hand, wrappers that the DC have randomly passed me, either 25 pens or no pens, loose change, and a hard boiled egg (courtesy of my chickens!).
