maybe you're right. Maybe there isn't such a thing as too much wine and cake.

But half a cake and a bottle and a half of wine. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/05/2016 22:01

As long as you can take your make up off your not drunk.

I've only been drunk twice by that standard.

CremeEggThief · 29/05/2016 22:01

Sounds good to me. I would have had more wine, if there had been more, and if there was any cake here, that would have been scoffed too. There's always tomorow to get back on the healthy bandwagon.Smile

Tryingtosaveup · 29/05/2016 22:18

it is not possible to eat too much cake. It's silly even suggesting it.
NSD here today, been planting veg plants and small apple trees in the garden.
And I collected a load of top soil that was on freecycle so I will be able to make raised beds for the veg plot. Couldn't have afforded to buy it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/05/2016 22:38

Raised beds sound brilliant. What will you grow?.

Ememem84 · 29/05/2016 22:45

today was a no make up Sunday. So does that mean I'm drunk because technically I can't take make up off... #overthinking

Lovely day. Sat outside with friends and ate cake and drank wine. 😊 Looking forward to just chillin tomorrow. And a three day week ahead.

Am in London on Friday meeting clients yippee. there will hopefully be a nice lunch.

Cagliostro · 29/05/2016 22:46

I don't know where that leaves me then, since I don't wear makeup! On the subject of drunkenness, I remember walking home with now-DH from the pub (pre DCs when we actually had time for such things!) and texting my friend, and realising I was able to write a perfectly coherent, grammatically correct message... and yet I couldn't walk in a straight line! Blush

Ah, youth. [wistful]

Spendy day for me as I paid for the exhibition group tour we're doing on DD's birthday. Still waiting for one friend to pay me but everyone else has. I think DH still has my bank card (he paid my PPI cheque in yesterday) but I realised I know my card number off by heart... probably not a good thing as it shows how often I shop online Blush Hmm

I think I've given up altogether on the hope of actually doing anything useful in the house before we go away! Apart from round two of the editing - got the feedback and further instructions today and they are happy with my work, yay!

I wanted to make lots of phonecalls tomorrow but it's bank holiday isn't it? (I've lost track of these things since the DCs left school TBH Blush). A lovely MNer messaged me about B12 injections really helping her CFS/ME symptoms. So I need to ask the GP about that. Got to be worth a shot (no pun intended). :)

Cagliostro · 29/05/2016 23:15

Thanks re: the couscous question! :)
Agree the couscous itself is easy to cook - for me it'd be the veg, chopping it etc. I suppose I could make a big batch of just veggies and freeze that. And halloumi [drool] maybe I could grill that and freeze.

AuditAngel · 29/05/2016 23:22

Hello all. Spent £44 in Boots, but £30 was on more gel insoles. On top of that some heat pads for my knotty shoulders, some ibruleve gel, shower gel and soap for holiday.

Had a dinner disaster today. Was going to slow roast the meat, so put oven on high to seal the meat, then realised it would be a bit cool for everything else do decided to quick roast, but forgot to turn it back down. It was fine for me as I like it well done. DH was very grumpy.

Roof box is packed to th brim. Would have liked to get a few more bits in the top. Need to make sandwiches and pack the cool box from the freezer and then the rest of the car.

Still need to get out the passports.

Sitting here with a sneaky cider.

Ursulatodd · 30/05/2016 08:07

Happy holidays Audit!!

Cag I'm wishing my online balance would hurry up and update so I can update on here but it won't because of BHW! Think we spent about £30 in tescos on Saturday for some bbq food&drinks then around £10 yesterday on icecreams. Planning a fairly frugal day today visiting a park and city farm which will both be free but we haven't done any shopping so we either need to do that before we go or end up buying lunch.

Ememem84 · 30/05/2016 08:29

Have a great bank holiday guys! And lovely holidays those of you who are going/still on holidays!

Nsd here today.

Trying another Pinterest recipe later - Vietnamese lemongrass pork. Will report back.

WreckTangled · 30/05/2016 08:44

Have fun audit! I only got up an hour ago but have cleaned the kitchen and emptied the dishwasher. Will do the shred in a minute. Not sure what to dress ds in as its cloudy but mild.

So next year we are planning two holidays. I really need to be saving as much as possible. Dh's overtime should pay for the holidays but I want to be increasing our savings at the same time so we don't blow all his money on a holiday and have nothing saved.

ipsogenix · 30/05/2016 13:45

Hello :-)

I've had a decent couple of days and not too spendy.

I bought a fantastic book for £2.81 about how to get on with ones' in-laws. Em I wondered if you might be interested in it? It's really very very helpful indeed. This is it:
www.amazon.co.uk/What-Do-You-Want-Laws/dp/0393338533

The book is full of real life in-law stories, with explanations of what's going on under the surface from a very good psychologist. I find it very gripping indeed. Dh says he wants to read it next, since I can't seem to put it down. Smile

The take-home message of the book is: "Yes, this is hard. No, it's not your fault. Yes, the problems can be solved."

Other than that, just a nice holiday so far. Ds is well, and has tried Gluten-free fish fingers for the first time. He's an instant convert and wants to buy shares in them.

WreckTangled · 30/05/2016 16:15

Lsd a success. £2.10 (ShockHmm) on a coffee
£1.55 in tesco on two half cucumbers reduced, kidney beans, tin of tomatoes and coleslaw.

We also got a free book which is worth £9.99 just for becoming members. Dd loves it, she got to choose from about five different ones.

£15 long handled floor scraper. The floor saga continues.

Dh fitted my dashcam so the cables are all hidden. It is most professional. Halfords charge £30 for that.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/05/2016 17:09

Hello all, quiet day here finishing packing, tidying up and some sorting out of stuff for the charity shop.

Am pretty much set to go tomos now Smile so excited!

Won't post while we are out there but will back in a week or so to fill you in, will def need to be back on the frugal wagon as will be completely skint Grin

Have a great time girlie.
Spendy today, went to Go Outdoors, say no more!!!

Ememem84 · 30/05/2016 18:40

Nsd. Yippee!

ipsos funny you should come up with that. I've been reading today about the Cassandra complex. Apparently common in respect of in laws (was directed to this from another thread). A lot of that rings true with me.

Will give the book a whirl. But may download to kindle.

apivita · 30/05/2016 18:52

Hello! Happy bank holiday everyone. We are up north to visit rellies and it's been great weather so far. Contrasting the rain down south so it's a rare thing when I say I'm pleased we are here! Grin

Spent £80 on dinner for 7 people out which is good going. We paid as they are housing us and feeding us breakfast and everything else really! Spent £23 on Sainsburys clothes - 2 dresses, 1 top for me and 1 skirt for dd. Love them quite a bit but if I change my mind I can return a dress to our branch.

£27 entrance fee to tatton park which included a Roahl Dahl gardens thing. Kids loved it. That's a family fee.

£40 on petrol.

Travelling back down tomorrow. Hope all is well.

Whataboutwhathuh · 30/05/2016 18:55

£15 on beers and flowers and cake in aldi to take to lunch with my mum and family. She gave me four shrubs for my garden which I would estimate has saved me about £60 so well worth it!

CremeEggThief · 30/05/2016 18:56

Have a brilliant time, GirlieSmile.

NSD here. I've been wiped out and napping this afternoon, after letting DS bake and then showing him how to clean the bathroom, talking him through every single step.

Ememem84 · 30/05/2016 19:08

Update. Vietnamese pork = delicious.

babsmam · 30/05/2016 19:30

Lush weather in the lakes. Spendy Weekend £250 ish but so worth it. Back to work tomorrow.
Couldn't get a sainsburys slot and it shuts early for BH. Have read but lost track sorry

Ursulatodd · 30/05/2016 19:56

Have a great holiday girlie!

Purple I MUST NOT visit Go Outdoors in the next few weeks before our camping trip - we always spend £££!! (however I do think their Hi-Gear children's fleeces are amazing, got a lovely bright purple with orange zip for DD last visit which was £5).

Day out today - £5 on drinks for our picnic, £11 in Lush (guilty pleasure!), £11 on tea & macarons, £27 on dinner.

I'd hoped my surprise £80 would last all holidays but think it's pretty much been spent already Blush! But we've had a lovely, friend and sunshine filled weekend - priceless!

babsmam · 30/05/2016 20:18

Ooo go outdoors eh. I may or may not need a new camping toaster, bed/mattress, and some other stuff I don't yet know I need...
