£16 in Asda on a top up shop and one of their Indian "take aways" for tea tonight. We are going out on the town tonight! Until half 10 anyway, we're going to catch the train home and don't want to be too late for MIL who is babysitting.
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. I've lost track of who is where on holiday but hope you all have a great time!

WreckTangled · 28/05/2016 13:21

Girlie I hope you enjoy your holiday! Whereabouts in menorca are you going? I've been a couple of times.

Spendy today. £63 lidl £28 sainsburys £13 Argos £14 halfords £38 fuel.

Back to healthy eating. I've got a tight dress I need to wear on Friday Hmm

Fluffy I hope the car is sorted without having to go through insurance.

Unescorted · 28/05/2016 13:26

Babs camping is awesome. I find the best way to keep the expense down is have home made ready sauces and plenty of snacks. Garlic & herb buter is a staple as well goes on BBQ anything... . And don't forget the corkscrew.

Frugal wins - realisiing that the frozen cous cous vege medley from Aldi makes a fab addition to salads. Better than the posh M&S ones in my considered opnion. I am saving a fortune on lunches.

Cagliostro · 28/05/2016 13:34

Ooh, thanks very much re: the BHF! I've sent off for/downloaded some free resources from various wildlife charities (friends of the earth, wildlife trust among others) but hadn't thought of looking at other types of charity :) I'll check that out.

Had another letter from council tax people, it's back up to full charge again?! So confused. Confused But then it will probably change again once I'm out of my notice period (technically I'm still employed for another few days).

Frugal win though, DH's turn to browse in the charity shop - he took DD to dancing as he's on late shift - and found a box of Lego stuffed to the brim for £2.

WreckTangled · 28/05/2016 14:21

Argh bought a bicycle pump and dh can't get it to fit dd's bike. He's getting really grumpy. Is grumpiness grounds for divorce?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/05/2016 15:59

Def wreck Wink we are going to the Northern bit of the island, not exactly sure what its called tbh!

Great find Cags dh!

Have fun tonight purple

We have just got back in, busy morning and have spent a fortune Blush

Right here goes....

£20 in Debenhams on a birthday gift for my dad, it did have 40% off though.

£56 in Boots Shock I blame you for this Fluffy as I am now addicted to the La Roche stuff Grin its on 3 for 2 at the min so stocked up. Also bought shampoo, conditioner, calpol, shower gel, deodorant and insect repellant plus stuff to spray on if we do get stung all for the holiday. By using deals etc actually saved £20 in total.

£12 in Waterstones on a book also for my dad, it had £5 off and I used some points on my Waterstones card.

£16 in M&S on a cardi for dd to wear in the evenings on hol.

£15 on dds riding lesson.

£5 on drinks and an ice cream.

£6 on a huge bag of cat litter.

Have got my Euros - so excited Grin

Will be living off beans on toast for the rest of the month though!!

Wreck yes. On a more practical note there are 2 types of tube valve Shrader and Presta... there is a little widget in the end of most pumps that you can take out & put in the other way.

This explains the difference roadcyclinguk.com/how-to/maintenance/beginners-guide-how-to-pump-up-a-road-bike-tyre.html

WreckTangled · 28/05/2016 16:19

Thanks unescorted he got there in the end. Apparently the tyre was so flat the valve had been pushed in or something like that. He's happy once again but I've drafted the divorce papers Wink

Ah girlie we stayed in the south. Are you hiring a car? There is an AMAZING secret beach I will tell you about it if you are. If not the buses are really simple to you and easy to go exploring different resorts.

Ememem84 · 28/05/2016 16:25

Hello. £25 spent today on riding.

Yesterday's spends £30 on nails. Now bright neon pink!! And about £40 on prosecco tapas and cake last night with a friend. Nice evening watching the sun set over the sea.

Just been for a walk with Dh. We walked down the pier. And found a dog fish.
He was still alive so popped him back in the water. Poor guy.

WreckTangled · 28/05/2016 16:37

I don't think it's as secret as when we went after googling it Grin it's called Cala Turqueta. You have to walk about a mile down a track from the car park and then it opens to this gorgeous beach. Here's some photos from when we went

Cool fish em! Also great result with the Lego cag, we were just discussing how brilliant charity shops are. I've promised DD a trip to the charity shop this week to choose a new toy for half term.

Whataboutwhathuh · 28/05/2016 18:01

Goodness me I spent too much today.

£30 at the farm shearing day. Should have packed lunch but didn't.
£15 in Argos for a new bubble mower and pool as ours have died
£48 on trainers in next
£71 on shrugs in HOF But one will go back if not both
£36 on a pair of trainers and a pair of sandals for ds1. First pair since September so at least they seem to last
£10 on pram shoes for ds2. He's cruising and these are for a wedding. He will be want to be on his feet all day.

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2016 18:06

Gosh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had a spendy dayGrin.

£7.80 bus fare.
£6.30 lunch (amazing goats cheese, pesto and chunky roast veg panini with a latte).
£10.26 Dunelm Mill (a side plate to replace one that broke, 2 new oven trays and a Lightshade for DS's room, so good value for all that).
£3.something Co-op (eggs, salad, sharing bag of crisps and baby beetroot).
£2.80 cheesy chips from the chippy. Yum!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/05/2016 18:06

Wow that beach looks amazing Wreck Shock will def try and find that, thank you.

WreckTangled · 28/05/2016 18:11

It was amazing girlie we went back a few times we loved it so much! You do feel like you're driving into the middle of nowhere though!

The dc have gone to a neighbours for a bbq! So just dh and I for dinner. I just did the shred for the first time since Monday. I went back to level 1 for today to ease myself in!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2016 18:11

Poor fish em I'd have helped it to.

girlie I'm going to stop using them. They test on animals in China and I'm a paid up bunny hugger. Gutted.

£59 dashcam
£25 petrol
£2 sandwich.

AuditAngel · 28/05/2016 20:31

Ipso sorry to hear about the family friend.

Lilac we go on Monday, come back the following Monday, then DH and I are off again on the Thursday to Spain for a friend's wedding.

Spendy day for me too. Bikini wax and pedicure using the voucher DH gave me for our anniversary. £1.30 on a croissant. No parking costs then as I took DH's car to use his business permit.

Took mum out, £25 on a shellac manicure. £12 on a comic each for the kids to have on holiday. Mum normally buys them one a month, but she hasn't been out for 2 weeks. Had a coffee, but mum treated me. Parking was free as a result of buying the comics.

£4 on two condolence cards. My friend's dad died, funeral was yesterday and neither DH or I knew.

Took DD2 out, collected the £20 now TV box from Argos. Don't know if it will work on holiday, but thought it was worth a punt. Popped into Asda to get bread rolls for tea, a few snacks for the journey£12, and remembered to use my receipt to cover the parking. Gave DD2 the 50p I had got out to pay for the parking.

After swimming, 25p for DD2 to get some sweets (on top of the 50p I gave her earlier Grin )

AuditAngel · 28/05/2016 20:36

I forgot, £20 in Boots for gel insoles. I think I have plantar fasciitis. My heel really hurts Sad . Not what I want on holiday.

Cagliostro · 28/05/2016 20:42

Having a very lazy evening. Except doing some editing as unexpectedly my new client (I HAVE CLIENTS!!! Feels so weird to say that!) sent the first script for editing. So that was entertaining :) I think it's going to be a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out exactly how much to change IYSWIM. But then I found that tricky at first with the other author's book and I got there in the end. I tend to overthink everything to the extreme (blaming my OCD/ASD!) but I guess overall that's a plus for this kind of work :o

Also put in an order with a smallish toy/education resource company, partly maths stuff for my class, and partly naice-but-cheap party bag fillers. There was a sale which ends the night before we go away, so I wanted to order but I was worried it'd get left on the doorstep or something (local couriers have form for this). I even asked mum if I could get it delivered there, but then she works as well so no guarantee. Anyway I found the company on Facebook and messaged them, asking if they could possibly hold my order until we're back, and they replied (which I wasn't expecting as I'd got an auto response saying they were shut til 9am Monday) and said yes :) so I've got the sale prices, but don't have to worry about the package going missing. :) :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/05/2016 21:03

I am so pleased for you Cag. Long may it continue.

Cagliostro · 28/05/2016 21:26

Aw thank you Fluffy :)

I have to say it's in a big way thanks to this lovely thread that I even have any of this stuff! I am pretty certain that without the Frugaleers I would be curled up in a heap wondering what on earth to do for work! Thanks

Cagliostro · 28/05/2016 21:28

And oh nooo Audit! I hope it's not that :( I've not had it myself but some of my friends do and it's horrible :( hopefully it's just a temporary thing!

blueteapot · 28/05/2016 22:44

The secret beach is lovely!

Audit try rolling your feet back and forth on chilled tins of beans / water bottles, supposed to be good relief for plantar fasciitis?

Good work cag you have done well getting back on your feet.

Spent about 25 in softplay for kids and dinner out.. everyone had gone stir crazy in the rain so it was well worth it lol, although going at teatime was a bad idea!
