Oh, that's great! I went there in summer 2010. It is gorgeous. SmileEnvy

CremeEggThief · 27/05/2016 13:33

You might already do this, but try to budget for travel to and from and food at the airport separately from your spending money. I think £350-400 will be fine.

Cagliostro · 27/05/2016 13:54

You seriously seriously deserve this trip Girlie! Hope you have a fabulous time :)

Feeling slightly better than yesterday, but taking it as easy as possible.

Found another education website where people can upload resources for sale - I've emailed them asking if contributors need to be qualified teachers, as it doesn't specify that in any of the info (I did this with the TES forum a while back and they confirmed that anyone can upload stuff).

lilacclery · 27/05/2016 13:56

One of my work colleagues kindly observed that I need two front tyres, thought I probably would need them soon Angry

Cagliostro · 27/05/2016 14:03

Oh gosh lilac I know next to nothing about cars other than which colours I like but tyres are mega expensive aren't they :(

Postman arrived. P45 is here. Boo. Council tax bill is here, and it's almost halved due to drop in income. And PPI cheque arrived. So all in all I'd call that a win :o :o

Whataboutwhathuh · 27/05/2016 14:06

Lilac look on black circles, they are always very reasonable and lots of options.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/05/2016 15:13

lila basic tyres are ok, they don't need to match the other tyres makes.

cag Halved council tax sounds good to me! You might qualify for reduced bulky item collection now too. Or just do what mil ndn did and dump her sofa on the pavement then rang the council and complained it had been fly tipped. They collected it as well. Cheeky moo that one.

£55 food shop. Forgot the fucking bin liners.
£100 to dh because he took £100 out of his bank instead of £10 so he will pay me later.

£1.50 on coconut oil.
£100 deposit for new car.

A car backed into me at a junction earlier, poor woman's heavily pg so it was probably baby brain. Dh is getting his smart repairer to fix it. Hopefully there is no damage inside the car and we can keep insurers out of it.

Ordered a dash cam. picking it up later when dh brings my cash home. Will be £59.

WreckTangled · 27/05/2016 15:43

We usually budget £100 a day for holiday spending but there's twice as many of us Smile

We've been outside all day and it's really warm so we've come to a big soft play. It's really quiet.

lilacclery · 27/05/2016 15:44

I'm in ROI so the tyres will either come from my mechanic or guy that supplies tyres at work. Dh is on hols next week, he can get them on for me. We're going to Scotland Mon week so will need to sort them for that for sure.

CremeEggThief · 27/05/2016 15:45

£7 travel.
£3.40 tea and scone, meeting a friend in a café (cheaper than the latte and brownie/muffin I usually favour. I don't like coffee and scones together.)
£20 on chinos from Next. They're a cross between coral and salmon in colour, so nice for the summer.

Fluffy, hope both you and the pregnant lady aren't too shaken up after that.

PurpleRibbons · 27/05/2016 15:59

Pay day here too, and half term. I'm in M&S having a coffee and quiet time before I collect DD from nursery. Also going to get some nice beer and chocolate holiday treats while I'm here!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/05/2016 16:11

Didn't make it out in the end, well other than to get dd from school! Spent £3.60 ish on stamps and some sweets for dd, went into the chemist and bought a nitty gritty comb they are £10! I have been reliably informed that they are def worth it and I found one of the buggers in dds hair last night Angry honestly parasites seem to love us, it feels never ending between thread worms and nits the joys of having kids Hmm

You must be very tasty then girlie

creme Thank you, I think we're both ok and she is literally about to drop her baby so I don't think either of us want to go there really.

I've bought a pack of frozen puff pastry and dark choc chips in morrisons. About £1.30 for both for choc au pain tomorrow morning. Jus rol pain au choc are £2 for 6.

AuditAngel · 27/05/2016 18:42

£3.88 in far foods for ice lollies.

£15 ish in Halfords to get a car air freshener, twin pack of breathalysers (to drive through France) and some head lamp adaptors.

£90 getting the roof box fitted. But it took the garage longer than they charged me for, and I didn't have to do it Grin

Tomorrow having a pre holiday wax plus pedicure. Have a £50 voucher DH gave me, I have told him I am taking his car to my appointment to make use of his business parking permit. Will also need petrol.

lilacclery · 27/05/2016 20:24

Fluffy you've great empathy there. Baby brain or not she pranged your car. Did she cry, I would have if it was me!

Showing ynab to dh don't think he was too impressed Grin

Sent him off with my loyalty card as he's buying a shirt he thinks they're not worth using but then was thrilled when I got one of the Dc crocs for free because of it last week & €210 off our holiday travel too.

Audit when are you away?
Girlie they say take twice as much money & half as much clothes on hols. We don't have much of either but self catering so going to get packs of bake at home bread rolls etc for when we're away so it feels like a treat. Fluffy interested to hear how pain au chocolat works out

ipsogenix · 27/05/2016 21:18

Hello!

It's the end of another day here, and it's been quite a good one I think.

We've done lots of hard things today - communicating with people around who are difficult, to solve problems that have been bugging us for a long time, and stuff like that.

We had a brave playdate that went well.

Ds reached the end of a half term without being off ill in the whole time. I could honestly hug his headmistress who is giving him afternoons off when he needs to get a bit of energy back. That's the first time we've gone more than 4 weeks in a row without illness in two years.

I had some time off today, and phoned home, but also strimmed the lawn and got the house quite tidy.

I heard from home that an elderly friend has died, but that he died peacefully in a lovely caring nursing home, so that was a relief.

I'm still £3 a day under budget on groceries.

I'm going to touch wood now. I hope things are going well for you all.

CremeEggThief · 27/05/2016 21:20

Sounds great, Ipso. Sorry to hear about your family friend, but all very positive otherwise.Smile

CremeEggThief · 27/05/2016 21:21

Fluffy, glad to hear it. I hope you're taking it easy tonight.Wine

Tryingtosaveup · 27/05/2016 21:49

NSD today as am away working ( well voluntary but get expenses) and have had no free time...so that's good.
I hope the holiday makers here have a great time girlie.Menorca should be lovely at this time of year. And I think Scotland is wonderful any time. Which part are you going to lila?
Iso that is good news about your DSs health.

Tryingtosaveup · 27/05/2016 21:52

Cag, some time ago I went on the website for the British heart foundation as friend had a stent put in. And I found that they offered free educational materials. I sent for them as my DGD is interested in biology sort of stuff. They are very good and there are lots of different things. I think they would be ok for the age group you have. Hope they still do them
You may already have them but if not it may be worth a look.

babsmam · 27/05/2016 22:08

Girlie do you have a Ramsden nearby. Friends says they have the best exchange rates.
Sorry to hear about your friend ipsos. Good news on ds and school
Ah fluffy sorry to hear about the car. Hope you are all ok.
Happy holidays. I don't get paid until Tuesday but going camping tomorrow so off radar for a bit. Very unprepared so will probably eat out a lot. So much for a cheap holiday

Ursulatodd · 28/05/2016 10:15

We're off camping in a couple of weeks Babs - can't wait! (Although it does always end up costing a fortune??!!)

Ipsos great news that you've made it through the term - what a milestone for you and DS! Enjoy your holidays!

Trying I've used some BHF resources before (think they did a skipping thing one year) good idea to scour charities for free resource kits.

£3.56 on lunch, milk and squash in Aldi yesterday. Need to pick up a few bits for a bbq later and I'm going to hunt out a knitting shop so I can start making something for the babies. I'm a terrible knitter, all rectangles and holes, but new wool is lush Halo

CremeEggThief · 28/05/2016 10:44

Have fun camping, BabsSmile.
