Nice here too but already too hot for me! I'm wilting like a flower :o

Yesterday wasn't too pricey - £20 for food/drink, £7 taxi :) and yes a lovely lovely evening. We were talking about maybe having a night away at some point too, although I'd have to think very carefully about that (I adore them, and have a great time, but still find socialising quite tiring mentally!). But would be awesome as we get on brilliantly. And they understand that I do need quiet time - they both have DCs and partners with ASD so they totally 'get' me. :)

Today paid £15 for DD's dancing, then a fiver in the charity shop next door. Blush A few books and a game all on the topic of endangered animals/extinction so we'll start that as a topic next week. AND DD passed her dancing exam a few weeks ago - she got a great result :) :) yay!

CremeEggThief · 07/05/2016 15:34

It's chilly (10°) and overcast up here, but I've chanced putting the washing out on the line, as no rain is forecast and it's meant to be hot and sunny again tomorrow.

Cag, sounds like a great night out. Thrilled for you, especially after your tough couple of days.Wine

Spends: £30 hairdresser (colour, cut and blowdry) and 72 p on a Fry's Peppermint cream.

Whataboutwhathuh · 07/05/2016 15:40

We've had really heavy rain just now.

Dh has gone off to Costco with ds1, my hip is too knackered to join them.

I've bought the home insurance for the year, £50 less than the renewal and £50 cash back from quidco has tracked. I've got £150 waiting on there :-) and £12 on checkout smart!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 07/05/2016 15:42

NSD so far and hope to keep it that way.

DS has been to ice skating this morning. We've then chilled out at home for a bit and had lunch then we've been to visit my great aunt who's recently moved to a residential home near us and we've now come to the park.

I'm babysitting for a friend later. She's paying me in custard donuts lol.

I have garden envy wreck.
Freezing here.
Just had my first person round to quote for painting the house. Am girding for an eye watering quote.

Looks lovely wreck! It is miserable here today, cold and constant drizzle of rain - we abandoned plans and are sat watching a movie with the fire lit! Didnt want to run the oil all day as we have nearly run out AGAIN... wonder how much a new more efficient heating system would beHmm

So far a NSD. Yesterday was quite spendy as DH and I went into town without the kids, spent about £50 or so - on a birthday present, great reduced bits for the kids for holiday in debenhams (sun hats for £1.20 for example!), coffee out, some stuff in tescos.

Came home and mowed the lawn, powerwashed the front path, put up bracket for hanging basket etc. Then did a mountain of late night ironing. Feeling like we got a lot done which is nice. Trying to spruce the front of the house up a bit, next step is a new door number and repainting the painted bit... when we can summon the energy Wink

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 07/05/2016 17:03

Okay it was a NSD as of earlier... But as we walked back from the park we bought an ice cream. £2.60 spent, but it wad worth it!!

Ememem84 · 07/05/2016 17:19

wreck I am jealous of your garden. I cannot wait to have a garden!!!

Have just got in from the beach. It clouded over Sad but I had an icecream Smile £3.80 on 2 99's with flakes. When did they get to expensive....???!!!!

Have showered and am now waiting for my tan to dry. Am out at 7. So am hoping its dry soon or I won't be able to get dressed!

babsmam · 07/05/2016 17:20

NSD

Ipsos · 07/05/2016 18:04

Hot here too. Very nice. We pushed the boat out today and went to the library. We got an armload of Enid Blyton and Tintin books, so that's our week covered.

I'm now trying to lay slabs for the climbing frame to sit flat on. I've done two coats of varnish on most of it though, so that's good.

Does anybody have a good scheme for knowing when there's a sale in a given local shoe shop? I would like to know when my local Ecco shop has its sale, and I even think I am on their mailing list, but the sale never registers, so I must be missing something. I visited two weeks running this time and got a proper bargain.

WreckTangled · 07/05/2016 18:29

Ah thanks everyone we are very lucky to have such a big garden, that photo only shows about 1/4-1/3 of its length.

Had a lovely afternoons with friends and a nice bbq. Back to frugal and healthy now Grin

Ememem84 · 08/05/2016 00:59

ipsos which Enid blyton did you get? I was always a fan of the famous five.

£40 ish on drinks. Am going to feel awful tomorrow. But was worth it. Caught up with old friends lovely.

Cagliostro · 08/05/2016 01:16

Same Em - Famous Fives were read and reread endlessly! Along with the Island of Adventure etc, and the Five Find-Outers. I also loved a one-off story called the Boy Next Door which I'm hoping to read to the DCs soon.

babsmam · 08/05/2016 07:02

Oh yes famous five al the way, couldn't get on with secret seven at all.

WreckTangled · 08/05/2016 07:23

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/05/2016 08:40

Saturday was £20 take away & £5 DIY stuff but I'll be returning £5 stuff today to equal it out.

Cagliostro · 08/05/2016 08:43

Banned?! Shock

lilacclery · 08/05/2016 09:09

Loved famous five here too & Malory towers

8FencingWire · 08/05/2016 09:28

Ahhh, lazy Sunday morning in bed. Have made (and ate) cinnamon swirls with a big pot of black coffee. Got the bed to myself and the windows are all wide open. The birds are deafening!
Will have a shower, pour another coffee and park myself in the garden for the rest of the day!

8FencingWire · 08/05/2016 09:28

It is Sunday, right? Feel a bit too relaxed I think.

Ememem84 · 08/05/2016 09:30

Ah Malory towers. So good.

There was one EB j read about kids living on a farm. They had cousins in the city who moved in with them because their house caught fire. Pretty sure it was a story with an underlying tone of being more tolerant to those who are different. Except to the gypsies. I seem to remember EB had a thing for gypsies.

May have to see if I can find them.

Cagliostro · 08/05/2016 09:46

Ooh I don't know that one Em

DH managed to change his holiday dates so we can still do a proper trip up to the games convention. Need to take the last day off our Birmingham booking (still don't understand why it went wrong!) and then I'll book two nights at Leicester before that so we can do the space centre! Wonder if I do that booking through TCB I'll get another lot of cashback? Or do these things only let you do it once?
