I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

Covered an extra class last night very poor turnout so I'll be putting in a claim for class cover fee €25Angry

WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 18:20

Ok so it's one night. Do you want uk or abroad? If you want uk where are you in the country? Do you want to add any days to it?

My immediate thoughts are Barcelona or London Grin

Cagliostro · 11/05/2016 18:24

Ooh great stuff Daily I used a voucher from Travelodge to get a free (well... 95p :o) night. We were very adventurous and went to Southampton :o I suppose it depends how far you want to travel as you might be worn out by the time you get there and not enjoy it as much - so nearer may be better?

Agree about autism. I hate my brain sometimes! But love it at others, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

Pain about the class lilac :(

Right. Need to get my butt in gear and finish sprucing up thehell pit living room for my pupil later.

Must send off my PPI form. DH forgot the envelope! It may be drastically irresponsible but I am soooo tempted to use some of it to get an iPad mini. There's a whole lot of games educational stuff we could use it for. And it would double as a camera which we also lack. Hmmmm. I do miss our old iPad (which was a hand me down 1st gen - lasted really well but finally bit the dust last year)

Oh how about Bournemouth? Lovely beach, gardens, crazy golf, plenty of places to eat Smile

babsmam · 11/05/2016 18:35

£25 in b and q.

OK daily, for one night abroad I guess you need to see how feesable going abroad is. How near is your nearest airport, where can you fly to and how much are flights. Do you need to factor in passports?
Or are you near the Chunnel or a short ferry ride.
Those to me would make it viable for one or two nights abroad.
If that leaves the UK are you near a station/ OK to drive to somewhere a bit special. Maybe somewhere that's too far for a day but overnight would make it achievable?
Hope that's not too overwhelming.

That's wonderful Lilac. Me too, and doubly so for knowing that I'm not the only one. Smile

I tried on some sketchers today too. They're very light with very soft soles aren't they? I really liked them but they didn't have my size.

Girlie we were referred under Bupa rather than under the NHS and this lady has particular expertise but is only NHS, so we would have had to pay a lot to see her or ask for another referral. This is just a sort of other way round.

Hi Need, thanks for asking. The GP just gave us a general referral to a pediatrician, so we wait now to see when the appt is. Probably 8 weeks.

Daily you are not useless. Manchester or Liverpool would give you lots of air choice. Maybe ireland, or western europe. Driving the Lakes or north wales or the peaks, maybe over to the north east I reccon without knowing your limits.
Sorry I'm on my phone so can't see where Hilton s are. I know there is one in Newcastle and Tynemouth beach is lovely

CremeEggThief · 11/05/2016 18:47

Dailymail, is there one in Chester? Not far at all from you and you could go to Chester Zoo and have a look around the city.

WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 18:53

I was going to say what babs said re Newcastle and tynemouth beach or the Lake District. You're not useless I LOVE this sort of thing planning trips away etc is how I spend my time Grin there are other things which cause me major stress which I bet you're great at though!

babsmam · 11/05/2016 18:55

God yeah me too. I love a good plan.

I've just broken my hand mixer making butter cream. It cost me a fiver in 2007. Do you think I can justify a kenwood chef to replace it.... HmmmGrin

The Hilton is right in the city centre (might be on the Gateshead side of the river it's not far) and the metro goes right out to Tynemouth. There is a small aquarium thingy, priory (English heritage) and the actual village.

Hi daily if I were you, and you are mega frazzled and have a free night at the Hilton, I would go to the nearest one that's decent and spend it there (find one with a pool, spa). Spend the money on a spa thing in house or nearby. Go for a nice swim in the pool. Nice meal.

In my opinion, if you have to travel far, you'll be desperate to make sure you 'enjoy' yourself and if you don't know the area it gets more stressful. And of course there's the travel factor (jams, petrol, etc).

I stayed at the Hilton near Peppa pig and we went to Peppa pig world. We were 4 of us. As ppw closed at 5 that was great. Gave us time to get back to hotel, enjoy it a bit. Had dinner. Nice bed. Enjoyed the evening. Woke up next day, breakfast included, went to ppw again and came home.

I've just spent £2500 on 7 days in Greece for 4 of us. ShockShock

I'm still having to book flights to Asia for 3 of us. Just because I won't have this amount of time off again and I want to go... Is that unreasonable?!! Blush

WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 19:07

Definitely babs!

The beach looks amazing at Tynemouth.

Bees where in Greece? You should definitely make the most of your time off. How is your step mum now? And your dad?

Yes Tynemouth beach can get busy on a nice day. It is a lovely beach.
I also agree with bees that if you don't want the stress then stay local and spend the travel money more on treats or an extra night.
It's still a break even if you are in your home town as you don't have cooking and chores

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 19:24

I agree with bees too about somewhere close by being much less stress.

WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 19:24

Also sorry about your dad SadFlowers sounds like this break is much needed. Let babs and I plan it for you Grin
